Abstract

The application of learning methods in science subjects can influence student learning motivation which can encourage student learning outcomes. Learning activities will be successful if students have motivation in learning. The purpose of this study was to find out and obtain information to become more familiar with and test the effect of the learning methods applied by teachers in increasing student learning motivation. The method used in this study is a qualitative method with research instruments through interviews, observation and documentation. The results of this study explain and provide an overview of increasing student motivation through learning methods in science subjects in class III SD IT Ummi Aida which are carried out effectively and can increase student motivation by the homeroom teacher. Where to use a variety of effective learning methods that are tailored to the interests of students in the delivery of science subject matter. For example, the teacher uses the demonstration method with media props, discussion and question and answer methods as a form of repetition of science subject matter. In addition, the teacher also provides a motivational direction in the form of student guidance in providing direction for the importance of preserving nature. Thus, the results of this study can be concluded that it can be done effectively and there is an increase in student motivation by using learning methods.

Abstract

MIS Al-Anwar Medan has implemented the 2013 curriculum trial and students' critical thinking habits when learning science are the emphasis of the 2013 curriculum. Getting used to thinking in a scientific approach is not easy, challenging, and requires preparation. This study aims to analyze students' critical thinking habits in science learning according to the 2013 curriculum which applies a scientific approach at MIS Al-Anwar Medan. The survey method was carried out at MIS Al-Anwar Medan in the odd semester of the 2022/2023 school year. The natural science topic being studied is Electrical Quantities. Data on the application of the scientific approach in science learning is collected by observation. The population of this study were all students of class VI MIS Al-Anwar Medan. Sampling was carried out by convenience sampling and class VI students of MIS Al-Anwar Medan as the research sample. Research data were analyzed descriptively.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the existence of problems that arise in students caused by the learning process still using the lecture method, causing the learning process to seem monotonous and cause a feeling of boredom and boredom in students and there is no meaningful learning experience, so that student learning outcomes are less good. The goal to be achieved in this research is to find out the learning process by using experimental methods and learning media as well as improving student learning outcomes after using experimental methods and learning media. Currently learning science in elementary schools, the teacher's role in the learning process is still dominant. In learning, the teacher delivers teaching material in front of the class using the lecture method only while the students just sit, listen and take notes on what is material in the science lesson. Such learning conditions result in students being less active and not directly involved in finding the meaning of learning to be achieved. The purpose of the research conducted was to improve the learning outcomes of class VI students at SD IT Miftahul Jannah, Bandar Selamat Village, Kec. Medan Tembung in science subjects on electrical energy through experimental methods and teaching aids. This study uses a qualitative method with a descriptive approach. This data collection technique takes place with the interview process.How to use learning media with this experimental method is quite effective in helping students find methods to increase their understanding of the subject matter that has been delivered.
