Abstract

This research is entitled Learning Problems in MDTA Al-Muttaqin, Jati Utomo Village, Binjai City. This research was motivated by teacher performance and inadequate infrastructure in learning at Madrasah Diniyah Takmiliyah Awaliyah (MDTA) Al-Muttaqin, Jati Utomo Village, Binjai City. This research uses qualitative phenomenological research methods. This method is intended to develop understanding or explain the meaning of an event experienced by a person or group regarding learning problems at MDTA Al-Muttaqin, Jati Utomo Village, Binjai City. The instruments needed to obtain this data are interviews, observations and documentation. The results of this research include the implementation of learning at Madrasah Diniyah Takmiliyah Awaliyah (MDTA) Al-Muttaqin carrying out learning activities in accordance with the learning components, then the problems faced in learning at Madrasah Diniyah Takmiliyah Awaliyah (MDTA) Al-Muttaqin, and efforts which will be carried out in overcoming learning problems at Madrasah Diniyah Takmiliyah Awaliyah (MDTA) Al-Muttakin, Jati Utomo Village, Binjai City.

Abstract

This study was conducted to find out more about the collaboration process carried out by Islamic Religious Education teachers with parents in motivating student learning at SMP Swata PAB 21 Pematang Johar. This research method uses a qualitative method with a descriptive approach through data collection carried out by observation, interviews and documentation. The results obtained from this study indicate that; 1) The collaboration process between Islamic Religious Education teachers and parents in motivating student learning at SMP Swata PAB 21 Pematang Johar is carried out by holding direct meetings, making mutual agreements and making mutual understanding with the parents of students, then approaching students. 2) The form of collaboration between Islamic Religious Education teachers and parents in motivating student learning at SMP Swata PAB 21 Pematang Johar is carried out through direct communication, home learning assistance and conducting parenting incentives involving students' families, with an individual approach to students and the existence of parent organizations and Islamic Religious Education teachers in providing direct motivation. 3) Supporting and inhibiting factors in the collaboration of Islamic Religious Education teachers with parents in motivating student learning at SMP Swasta PAB 21 Pematang Johar, supporting collaboration of Islamic Religious Education teachers with parents is the involvement of parents in their children's learning at school, while the supporting factor in motivating student learning is the awareness of students about the importance of Islamic Religious Education learning.

Abstract

Penelitian ini mengkaji peran Pondok Pesantren At-Taufiqurrahman Desa Gunung Melayu, Kabupaten Labuhan Batu Utara, dalam membentuk tanggung jawab belajar santri. Pesantren ini mendisiplinkan santri melalui pengawasan ketat dan hukuman untuk mengaji di Masjid bagi yang datang terlambat. Namun, kendala dalam meningkatkan kedisiplinan belajar santri termasuk kurangnya semangat belajar, keterbatasan sumber daya, dan pengaruh negatif teman sebaya. Untuk mengatasi hal ini, pesantren memberikan motivasi dan dukungan melalui ceramah malam, doa, dan dorongan dari ustadz/ustadzah. Pendekatan penelitian ini adalah deskriptif kualitatif, bertujuan untuk memperoleh informasi dari fenomena yang terjadi sebagaimana adanya. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa sinergi antara lingkungan pesantren, peran ustadz/ustadzah, keterlibatan orang tua, dan dukungan fasilitas yang baik sangat penting untuk memastikan santri dapat mengembangkan tanggung jawab belajar yang optimal.

Abstract

Fiqh learning at the elementary madrasah level has a strategic role in shaping students' basic understanding of Islamic law and in instilling religious values ​​from an early age. However, in practice, many teachers experience obstacles in determining the right learning strategy so that fiqh material can be effectively accepted by students who are still at the concrete development stage. This study aims to describe and analyze learning strategies in fiqh subjects in introducing Islamic law at Bidayatul Hidayah Elementary Madrasah. This study uses a qualitative approach with a phenomenological method. Data were obtained through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation studies, with primary data sources being teachers and students, and secondary data in the form of learning documents. The data analysis technique follows the Miles and Huberman model, and the validity of the data is tested through triangulation and member checks. The results of the study indicate that the learning strategies used by teachers include direct practice, discussion, demonstration, and contextual approaches that link fiqh material to students' daily lives. Learning planning has been well prepared, but its implementation still faces obstacles such as limited media, time, and differences in student abilities. This study also found the integration of local cultural values ​​in fiqh learning that strengthens students' understanding of Islamic law. The implications of this study are the importance of strengthening teacher competence in implementing active and contextual learning strategies, as well as the need for support for facilities and curriculum that are responsive to the needs of students at the elementary madrasah level.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the application of Islamic values in the learning process at three Islamic universities in Medan City, namely UISU, UMSU, and UINSU. The informants in this study numbered 18 people, namely 2-3 lecturers in each faculty, who were selected purposively based on their relevance in the application of Islamic values in the general learning process. The approach used is descriptive qualitative, with data collection techniques through interviews, observations, and documentation of lecturers and students from various faculties. The results of the study indicate that the Islamic values applied in learning include 19 main values such as discipline, responsibility, mutual respect, and tolerance. The process of internalizing these values takes place in stages starting from the stage of knowing, feeling, to acting. Each university has a different pattern of implementation, ranging from non-formal approaches to integration into the official curriculum. Although effectiveness varies between institutions, overall implementation shows a positive direction towards learning based on Islamic values that are integrated with mastery of knowledge

Abstract

This study aims to examine the role of the Mosque Youth Coordination Board (BKRM) in strengthening worship education among youth in Tanjung Morawa. BKRM is an active organization that fosters young generations in understanding and practicing Islamic teachings in daily life through various religious and social activities. This research employs a qualitative method with a phenomenological approach. Data were collected through direct observation of religious activities, in-depth interviews with BKRM leaders, members, and mosque youth groups (KRM), and document analysis of program archives. The data were analyzed through data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing, and were validated using triangulation techniques to ensure data accuracy. The findings indicate that BKRM plays a strategic role in enhancing worship education through programs such as ta’lim, Turba (community outreach), Hijram (Hijratul Muharram), daurah marhala ula, and solidarity actions for Palestine. These programs not only promote conceptual religious understanding but also instill worship values within a social context. BKRM’s success is supported by a spirit of togetherness, a religious social environment, and active guidance from mentors. However, several obstacles were identified, including personal busyness of the youth, lack of individual motivation, distant activity locations, and limited communication. This study concludes that religious organizations such as BKRM make a tangible contribution to strengthening both the understanding and practice of worship among youth. The findings provide practical insights for similar organizations to adopt or adapt BKRM’s youth development model in a more contextual and effective manner.

Abstract

General Background: Learning Islamic jurisprudence (fiqh) often encounters challenges such as low student interest and participation, as well as teachers’ difficulties in delivering conceptual material. Specific Background: These conditions underscore the need for innovation through digital-based learning approaches. Knowledge Gap: Previous studies have seldom examined the comprehensive integration of digital media in fiqh learning. Aims: This study aims to explore the implementation of digital-based fiqh learning, focusing on the aspects of planning, implementation, and evaluation. Results: Employing a descriptive qualitative method through observation, interviews, and documentation, the findings indicate that teachers utilized digital media such as PowerPoint, YouTube, and Google Drive, supported by Direct Instruction and Teams Games Tournament (TGT) models. This approach increased student engagement, improved material comprehension, and fostered 21st-century skills, although challenges persisted with network reliability and uneven digital competence. Novelty: The study highlights the effectiveness of combining the TGT model with digital media in fiqh learning. Implications: These findings provide practical contributions to developing more engaging, interactive, and contextually relevant fiqh learning strategies in the digital era. Highlights: Digital media enhances engagement and understanding in fiqh learning. TGT and Direct Instruction models effectively support digital integration. Abstract

Kuliah Kerja Nyata (KKN) adalah bentuk pengabdian mahasiswa kepada masyarakat yang bertujuan untuk menerapkan ilmu pengetahuan serta mendorong kemandirian komunitas. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menggambarkan pelaksanaan program KKN mahasiswa UINSU di Desa Nagori Birong Ulu Manriah dalam memberdayakan masyarakat melalui kegiatan keagamaan, pendidikan, lingkungan, sosial, dan ekonomi. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif dengan metode pengumpulan data melalui pengamatan, wawancara, dan arsip. Temuan yang diperoleh menunjukkan bahwa program-program kerja, seperti pelatihan fardhu kifayah, seminar moderasi beragama, pendidikan budidaya lebah, revitalisasi taman PKK, edukasi pengelolaan sampah, seminar tentang bahaya bullying, bazar UMKM, seminar tentang budaya menabung, serta bioskop mini pendidikan, mendapatkan sambutan hangat dari masyarakat dan memberikan efek positif terhadap peningkatan pengetahuan, kesadaran, dan keterampilan. Kesimpulannya, pelaksanaan program KKN mahasiswa UINSU di Desa Nagori Birong Ulu Manriah berhasil mencapai sasaran pemberdayaan dengan melibatkan partisipasi aktif masyarakat serta memberikan kontribusi yang berkelanjutan dalam aspek sosial-ekonomi desa.

Abstract

This research aims to describe the efforts of teachers in developing learning media for fiqh at MTs Swasta IRA Medan, as well as to identify the obstacles faced and the solutions implemented. The background of this study is based on the importance of learning media in enhancing students' understanding and motivation to learn, especially in the subject of fiqh which contains both theoretical and practical aspects. The research method used is qualitative descriptive, with data collection techniques including observation, interviews, and documentation. The results of the study show that fiqh teachers at MTs Swasta IRA Medan have creatively endeavored to develop varied learning media that align with the characteristics of the material and the needs of students. The media used include images, videos, question cards, and direct practice such as simulating prayer movements and animal sacrifice using simple aids. The challenges faced by teachers include limitations in technological infrastructure, time, budget, and difficulties in aligning media with the content. The solutions implemented include the use of projectors, the use of simple and free media, and the utilization of local resources. The use of media has proven to increase students' motivation to learn and their understanding of fiqh material.

Abstract

Taruna Melati Cadre Training (PKTM) is a work program of the Ikatan Pelajar Muhammadiyah (IPM) aimed at strengthening moral education among students. This research aims to analyze the implementation of IPM's PKTM program in the Bangun Purba Branch in instilling moral education to IPM cadres through the Taruna Melati Cadre Training (PKTM). The research method used is qualitative research with a case study approach. Data was collected through participatory observation, interviews, and analysis of documents related to the Taruna Melati Cadre Training (PKTM) of the Ikatan Pelajar Muhammadiyah (IPM). In this research, the researcher found a significant contribution in the activities of the Taruna Melati Cadre Training (PKTM) Program of the Ikatan Pelajar Muhammadiyah (IPM) in instilling moral education to the participants. This is because the program is designed to strengthen participants' understanding of moral values and Islamic character. Some of the activities conducted in the Taruna Melati Cadre Training (PKTM) Program of the Ikatan Pelajar Muhammadiyah (IPM) include group prayers, lectures, discussions, learning about the Al-Quran and Hadith, skill development, and various other materials provided.
