Abstract

Abstract

The halal food study is one of the prominent research fields in halal trends. Currently, the halal food concept is not only the worship of Muslims to Allah, but also this concept is adopted by non-Muslim with healthy lifestyle considerations. Therefore, the insight of the influenced variable on purchased intention behavior of students is crucial to research as basic information for all stakeholders, such as the seller, marketer, policymaker, government, and researchers. This study aims to identify and compare the independent variables that influence the behavior of students' purchase intentions from the school's clustering perspective. A quantitative approach has investigated the influence of attitude and need for cognition (NFC) variables on students' purchase intention behavior on halal food. The self-administrated questionnaire was used to collect the data from 561 respondents and input them into the Survey123 software. The data were analyzed using descriptive and interferential statistics. The result showed that attitude toward halal (HA) and NFC were accepted as the influenced variable on halal food purchase intention behavior. Furthermore, the students from Islamic schools tend to have purchase intentions on halal than in senior high The result of this study could be strategic marketing in the halal food industry. Then, the school must strengthen halal awareness in the syllabus.

Abstract

Dayak onion (Eleutherine americana (L.) Merr) is known to have potential as an inflammatory pathway modulator as it contains active compounds such as eleutherine, isoleutherine, and eleutol. They are known to have anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, and anti-cancer activities. This study explored the potential of Eleutherine americana (L.) Merr bioactive compounds as COX-2 enzyme inhibitors using an in silico approach. The data were obtained using Lipinski’s rule of 5, ADMET profile prediction, molecular docking, and molecular dynamics simulation. The molecular docking results showed that eleutherin, isoeleutherin, and elecanacin had strong binding affinities of −8.09, −8.19, and −8.06 kcal/mol to the active site of COX-2 with amino acid residues SER530, ALA527, SER353, HIS90, PHE518, LEU384, and PHE381. Meanwhile, MD analysis showed that eleutherin formed stable RMSD Cα interactions at a distance of 1.4 Å for 100 ns with COX-2, while isoeleutherin showed slight fluctuations of 2.5 Å at 75 ns with an average radius of gyration of 24 Å. The findings demonstrate potential for further development, particularly in the exploration of new herbal-based drug discovery using Eleutherine americana (L.) Merr, and can be studied further in vitro and in vivo to validate the drug candidate as a COX-2 inhibitor in anti-inflammatory therapy.

Abstract

Abstract

Purpose of the study: This study investigates the relationship between students’ attitudes and their motivation to study physics in vocational high schools. Recognizing that physics is often perceived as a difficult subject, this research seeks to understand how affective factors influence student engagement and achievement, particularly in vocational education settings where applied sciences are critical. Methodology: The study employs a quantitative descriptive design with a correlational approach, using validated questionnaires distributed to vocational students. To enrich the quantitative findings, semi-structured interviews were conducted to explore students' perceptions more deeply based on specific indicators of attitude and motivation. Data were analyzed using both descriptive and inferential statistics, particularly Pearson correlation analysis. Main Findings: The results revealed that both students’ attitudes towards physics and their motivation to learn were generally in the “fairly good” category. A positive and significant correlation between the two variables was found, with a moderate Pearson correlation coefficient of 0.622, indicating that students with a more positive attitude tend to have higher motivation levels. This emphasizes the vital role of affective domains in supporting physics learning outcomes. Novelty/Originality of this study: This study introduces a novel integrated analytical framework that merges quantitative correlation data with qualitative insights, providing a deeper understanding of the synergy between attitudes and motivation. Unlike previous research that often examined these factors independently, this study emphasizes their interrelated impact on vocational physics education, offering new directions for designing affective-based learning interventions aimed at improving student cognitive, affective, and psychomotor performance in technical fields.
