Abstract

The relationship between Islam and the state in the political journey in Indonesia has a journey and continues to be an endless debate or polemic. So that the next stage of the debate gave birth to two groups of Islamic political thought, namely the modernist and neo-modernist groups. The focus of the problem is how these two groups view the relationship between Islam and the state. This research is a descriptive-qualitative research with literature study and its stages. This study uses a historical approach to find analysis and answers to problems. The result of the research is that the main ideas of the two schools of modernism or neo-modernism in viewing Islam and the state must have fundamental differences, because theoretically, Islam and the state are difficult to find common ground. So that both are divided into 2 (two) thoughts, namely idealistic and realistic. However, in their idealistic framework, they both formulated a state system that was entirely based on Islamic knowledge.

Abstract

There is data indicating a continuous increase in the workforce, especially with the rising number of high school graduates each year, both at the provincial level in Jambi and in the city of Sungai Penuh. Faced with this situation, one proposed solution is through entrepreneurship empowerment. It is hoped that the Community Service Program can generate new entrepreneurs by involving a series of activities, ranging from planning, production processes, to the marketing of Aksara Incung batik. This is considered a contribution to addressing workforce growth issues and enhancing the skills of the younger generation. The Community Service Program is expected to be able to give birth to new entrepreneurs through a series of planning activities and processes leading to the implementation of the production and marketing process of incung batik. The community service method used is the Asset-Based Community Development (ABCD) method. The ABCD approach aims to develop an Asset-Based Community (potential), such as developing an educational community, an economy, and so on. The result of the service is the Incung script, which is typical of the cities of Sungai Penuh and Kerinci. Another angle is incung batik, which is a typical souvenir of Sungai Penuh. Until now, there has still been a shortage of incung batik craftsmen. The aspect of batik incung, as a distinctive souvenir of Sungai Penuh, still faces a shortage of craftsmen up to the present time. Particularly, the practice of batik incung craftsmen is mainly bound by traditional inheritance, and the product lacks innovation. With the presence of training, it is hoped to create improvement in the management of Human Resources, where Human Resources are considered as the main source or asset. Keywords: Include a maximum of three keywords or phrases

Abstract

Marga is the lowest level of government system led by a pesirah  as the head of the clan that has existed since the Sultanate of Palembang Darussalam which refers to the Simbur Cahaya Act made by Queen Sinuhun Sending in 1630. After the Sultanate of Palembang Darussalam fell to the Dutch in 1821, the Dutch East Indies colonials replaced it with The Palembang Karesidenan. The clan government continued the Dutch so as to form new clans based on colonial interests. This research uses historical research methods with steps: heuristics, source criticism, interpretation, and historiography. The results showed that there was the formation of a new clan, namely the Kepungut Tiang clan, combining the Ark Pumpung clan with the Middle Kepungut Tribe. Then the clans in Musi Ulu were included in the  onder district  (Muara Beliti, Semangus and Terawas). Then the clans that are in  semangus district onder are replaced and put into the muara kelingi district onder.  Finally, the clan Sindang Kelingi Ilir was raised to the status of  onder Afdeeling  Musi Ulu.Marga ialah sistem pemerintahan tingkat terendah yang dipimpin seorang pesirah sebagai kepala marga yang telah ada sejak Kesultanan Palembang Darussalam yang mengacu pada Undang-Undang Simbur Cahaya dibuat oleh Ratu Sinuhun Sending tahun 1630. Setelah Kesultanan Palembang Darussalam jatuh ke tangan Belanda tahun 1821, kolonial Hindia Belanda mengganti dengan Karesidenan Palembang. Pemerintahan marga tetap diteruskan Belanda sehingga membentuk marga-marga baru berdasarkan kepentingan kolonial. Terakhir, marga Sindang Kelingi Ilir dinaikkan statusnya menjadi ibukota Onder Afdeeling Musi Ulu.

Abstract

This study examines the traditional Islamic education system in Kerinci, Sumatra, a region that has remained relatively overlooked in Indonesian Islamic education scholarship compared to areas such as Java, Aceh, and West Sumatra. Despite Islam's profound influence on the culture and social structure of Kerinci society, historical documentation of its educational practices remains limited. This research aims to reconstruct the history of traditional Islamic education in Kerinci during the 18th and 19th centuries, analyze its curriculum, and explore the integrative role of local customs (adat) in its development. Employing a multidisciplinary approach, this study combines historical, philological, and anthropological methods to examine the topic. Primary data were collected through the examination of Malay-Arabic manuscripts, oral traditions, and in-depth interviews with religious and customary leaders. Secondary sources include colonial archives and previous studies. The analysis follows a heuristic approach, incorporating data collection, source verification, critical interpretation, and historiographic writing. The findings reveal two main educational models: ngajai (informal community-based teaching) and ngajai di umah syiak (instruction at the homes of religious leaders), both of which integrated Quranic literacy, moral education, and local customary values. This research makes a significant contribution by providing the first comprehensive documentation of Islamic education in Kerinci and offers a methodological innovation for studying oral tradition-based Islamic education systems in local contexts.
