Abstract

The transformation of Institut Agama Islam Negeri (IAIN) Kerinci into a center of academic excellence based on the integration of knowledge represents a strategic step to combine Islamic values with modern science. This study explores the history, humanistic paradigm, and strategies for integrating knowledge at IAIN Kerinci. A qualitative method was employed to examine the philosophy, policies, and implementation of knowledge integration through interviews, observations, and document analysis. The findings reveal that IAIN Kerinci strives to create academic distinction by prioritizing local wisdom, Islamic values, and a holistic approach in education, research, and community service. These efforts aim to produce graduates who are intellectually competent, deeply rooted in local cultural values, and capable of competing globally. The study concludes with strategic recommendations to strengthen the institution through curriculum revitalization, faculty quality improvement, and synergistic collaborations with various stakeholders.

Abstract

This study examines the traditional Islamic education system in Kerinci, Sumatra, a region that has remained relatively overlooked in Indonesian Islamic education scholarship compared to areas such as Java, Aceh, and West Sumatra. Despite Islam's profound influence on the culture and social structure of Kerinci society, historical documentation of its educational practices remains limited. This research aims to reconstruct the history of traditional Islamic education in Kerinci during the 18th and 19th centuries, analyze its curriculum, and explore the integrative role of local customs (adat) in its development. Employing a multidisciplinary approach, this study combines historical, philological, and anthropological methods to examine the topic. Primary data were collected through the examination of Malay-Arabic manuscripts, oral traditions, and in-depth interviews with religious and customary leaders. Secondary sources include colonial archives and previous studies. The analysis follows a heuristic approach, incorporating data collection, source verification, critical interpretation, and historiographic writing. The findings reveal two main educational models: ngajai (informal community-based teaching) and ngajai di umah syiak (instruction at the homes of religious leaders), both of which integrated Quranic literacy, moral education, and local customary values. This research makes a significant contribution by providing the first comprehensive documentation of Islamic education in Kerinci and offers a methodological innovation for studying oral tradition-based Islamic education systems in local contexts.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan upaya meningkatkan kreativitas mahasiswa pada pembelajaran kimia menggunakan bahan ajar berbasis Project Based Learning (PjBL). Subjek pada penelitian ini adalah mahasiswa jurusan biologi semester 2 Institut Agama Islam Negeri (IAIN) Kerinci yang mengikuti perkuliahan kimia dasar. Penelitian dilakukan dengan desain One-Shot Case Study. Data hasil penelitian diperoleh dari analisis lembar observasi produk dengan skala berpikir kreatif (Creative Thinking Scale/CTS). Analisis data dengan teknik persentase dan diolah secara deskriptif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan kreativitas mahasiswa dalam menghasilkan produk model-model bentuk molekul menggunakan bahan limbah lingkungan termasuk pada kategori sangat tinggi dengan nilai 80. Maka dapat disimpulkan bahwa penggunaan bahan ajar kimia berbasis Project Based Learning (PjBL) dapat meningkatkan kreativitas mahasiswa

Abstract

Berdakwah menggunakan film animasi Islami Riko The Series sangat cocok untuk digunakan pada zaman sekarang ini, karena lebih mudah diterima dan dipahami oleh anak-anak. Oleh sebab itu peneliti ingin mencoba menggunakan film animasi Islami Riko The Series untuk melihat bagaimana pengaruh film animasi Islami Riko The Series terhadap anak-anak pengajian TPA Madrasah Diniyyah Awaliyah Fathul Amal di Desa Baru Pulau Sangkar. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah penelitian eksperimen dengan teknik pengumpulan data yaitu observasi, wawancara dan dokumentasi, dan penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui bagaimana strategi dakwah dan pesan dakwah dalam film animasi Islami Riko The Seris episode 6 sampai 10 (season 1) dan untuk mengetahui bagaimana pengaruh film animasi Islami Riko The Series episode 6 sampai 10 (season 1) terhadap anak-anak TPA Madrasah Diniyyah Awaliyah Fathul Amal di Desa Baru Pulau Sangkar. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian ini dapat diketahui bahwa dalam film animasi Islami Riko The Series episode 6 sampai 10 (season 1) ini terdapat 3 strategi dakwah dan 3 pesan dakwah dalam film animasi Islami Riko The Series episode 6 sampai 10 (season 1) dan film animasi Islami Riko The Series juga berpengaruh terhadap anak-anak TPA Madrasah Diniyyah Awaliyah Fathul Amal Desa Baru Pulau Sangkar dibidang akhlak.

Abstract

dr. Zaidul Akbar was used YouTube as a media for da'wah by the health themes, YouTube is very good way to use for da’wah, because it presents interesting content. Then, da'wah messages with health themes will be easily accepted and understood. This research wanted to know about da'wah messages with health themes in videos that last 40:34 and 50:31 minutes durations which are uploaded on dr. Zaidul Akbar content. This reaserch was used  a qualitative approach, and intsrument was used observation by the sense of sight, which means not asking questions, in other words, the researcher wanted to observe directly on Dr. Zaidul Akbar's YouTube content. After conducting the research, the researcher found that the results of da'wah messages about health in dr. Zaidul Akbar content, consists of 5 moral messages, 4 sharia messages, and 1 aqidah message. In both videos that are 40:34 and 50:31 minutes durations. Da'wah messages about health that are often discussed in their content are moral messages with a total of 5 discussions of moral messages. The health messages include explanations regarding the benefits of dates, spices such as ginger, turmeric, galangal, and lemongrass. dr. Zaidul Akbar also explained the benefits of almsgiving, prayer, fasting, doing good to others for physical, mental and other social health

Abstract

Adolescents are the young generation and part of the national assets as a hope for the future of the nation, state and religion. The behavior of teenagers at the Baitul Ikhsan mosque is still found to lack Islamic behavior such as lack of worship at the mosque and playing more games. Therefore, efforts are needed to improve the religious behavior of teenagers of the Baitul Ikhsan mosque, one of which is by implementing a da’wah strategy towards fostering the religious behavior of teenagers of the Baitul Ikhsan mosque, Koto Majidin Hilir Village, Kerinci Regency, Jambi Province. This type of research uses qualitative research. Data collection techniques using observation, interview and documentation methods. The subject of this research is the youth coach of the Baitul Ikhsan Mosque. Mosque teenagers. Baitul Ikhsan teenage parents and the community of Koto Majidin Hilir Village with a total of 45 people. The research results on the Da‟wah Strategy towards the Development of Religious Behavior of Adolescents of the Baitul Ikhsan Mosque Koto Majidin Hilir, Kerinci Regency, Jambi Province. The role of the Baitul Ikhsan Mosque youth in shaping the character of adolescents is quite good in carrying out activities and playing an active in these activities. The supporting factor for the Baitul Ikhsan Mosque youth is the source of funds that is useful for organizing all mosque youth activities. The inhibiting factor for the Baitul Ikhsan Mosque teenagers is the busyness of the spirit of the management which decreases so that it affects the development of religious behavior of the Baitul Ikhsan Mosque teenagers in Koto Majidin Hilir Village

Abstract

This community service activity aims to optimize local potential in the Air Pura District through empowerment based on economic, social, and educational aspects. The program was designed using the Participatory Action Research (PAR) method, emphasizing active participation of the community at every stage, from problem identification and planning to activity evaluation. This participatory approach enables the community to be directly involved in exploring local potential, designing solutions, and taking actions aligned with their needs. The program achieved several key outcomes, including increased community income through diversification of livelihoods based on local potential, strengthened social and cultural values through collaborative activities, and improved education quality through skills training and literacy eradication programs. The success of this program not only brought about positive changes in economic, social, and educational aspects but also established a sustainable empowerment ecosystem. This empowerment model is expected to be replicable in other regions by adapting to their local characteristics.

Abstract

Ritual Ngasap Nenghi di Desa Semurup, Kabupaten Kerinci, merupakan warisan budaya yang sarat nilai spiritual dan ekologis, serta mencerminkan hubungan manusia dengan alam dan kekuatan transendental. Melalui pendekatan etnokimia, penelitian ini menemukan bahwa bahan-bahan alami yang digunakan—seperti kemenyan putih, gaharu, akar wangi, kulit kayu manis, bunga rampai, dan air cinano yang diracik dari mata air, daun sirih, melati, serta jeruk purut—mengandung senyawa bioaktif yang bersifat antiseptik, anti-inflamasi, relaksan, dan antidepresan. Temuan ini menunjukkan bahwa pengetahuan tradisional yang terkandung dalam ritual tersebut memiliki dasar ilmiah yang dapat diintegrasikan ke dalam pembelajaran sains, khususnya kimia. Implikasi praktisnya meliputi pengembangan materi ajar kimia kontekstual yang mengangkat senyawa metabolit sekunder dari tumbuhan lokal, penggunaan metode project-based learning dalam eksperimen ekstraksi dan analisis zat aktif, serta pelatihan guru untuk mengaitkan topik kimia seperti minyak atsiri, senyawa aromatik, dan bioaktivitas bahan alam dengan praktik budaya lokal. Dengan pendekatan ini, literasi sains siswa dapat ditingkatkan secara holistik, sekaligus memperkuat identitas budaya dan pelestarian kearifan lokal.

Abstract

Efficient and transparent archival management is a crucial aspect in supporting the smooth operation of higher education institutions, including IAIN Kerinci. Although there are regulations governing archival management, such as those outlined in Law No. 43 of 2009 on Archiving, archival management at IAIN Kerinci still faces various challenges, particularly related to the limited human resources (HR) with expertise in archiving and the suboptimal management of digital archives. This study aims to evaluate the existing archival management system at IAIN Kerinci, identify the challenges faced, and provide solutions through functional archivist training. The method used is a qualitative approach, conducting Functional Archivist Education and Training (Diklat) focused on improving technical competencies in managing both manual and digital archives. The results show that this training successfully enhanced archivists' skills in managing archives in a more organized, efficient, and technology-aligned manner. The implications of this study emphasize the importance of increasing HR capacity in archival management and the application of technology in digital archival systems to improve transparency and accountability. In conclusion, this training program significantly contributes to more efficient archival management at IAIN Kerinci, which in turn supports administrative processes and decision-making based on accurate and secure data.

Abstract

The Garuda Sriwijaya Subkoss Struggle Museum is a museum unit managed by the South Sumatra State Museum Technical Implementation Unit, South Sumatra Provincial Culture and Tourism Office. This museum is categorised as a special museum that displays the struggle of the physical revolution to defend the independence of the Republic of Indonesia in South Sumatra in 1945-1949. In addition to being a source of learning, the museum acts as preserving objects of historical and cultural value through programmes implemented by the museum itself and making the museum a local history education by bringing in visitors. This research discusses in detail the history and policies of the museum in preserving local history in Lubuklinggau. This research uses narrative qualitative research. The results of the research obtained that the Garuda Sriwijaya Subkoss Struggle Museum is a museum that has a large collection of objects of the struggle of the people in Lubuklinggau and its surroundings in an effort to maintain independence, so that in 1988 it was inaugurated as a museum. After the museum collection has been classified according to category, then make a museum exhibition policy to support the introduction and preservation of local history in Lubuklinggau.
