Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis penggunaan bahasa argot dalam film Banlieusards karya Kery James dan Leïla Sy. Dengan menggunakan teori jenis-jenis bahasa argot dari Calvet dan teori fungsi bahasa argot dari Goudaillier, penelitian ini berfokus pada identifikasi jenis argot serta fungsi kosakata yang digunakan dalam film tersebut. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode kualitatif deskriptif, dengan menggunakan teknik pengumpulan data simak dan catat. Data berupa kosakata dan frasa bahasa argot dalam dialog dalam film Banlieusards dan dianalisis secara mendalam untuk mengidentifikasi jenis-jenis argot dan fungsinya. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat 81 data kosakata dan frasa argot yang terbagi dalam enam jenis argot berdasarkan teori Calvet, yaitu la troncation, la suffixation, le verlan, l’emprunt, la substitution de sens, dan la création pure. Sedangkan berdasarkan fungsi bahasa argot menurut Goudaillier, argot dalam film ini berfungsi sebagai penanda identitas (identitaire), bahasa rahasia (cryptique), dan alat bermain-main (ludique). Temuan ini menggambarkan bagaimana bahasa argot digunakan untuk menciptakan identitas kelompok sosial, menjaga kerahasiaan, serta membangun hubungan sosial dalam lingkungan pinggiran kota di Prancis. Hasil penelitian ini juga dapat diimplementasikan dalam mata kuliah sosiolinguistik untuk membantu mahasiswa memahami hubungan antara bahasa dan masyarakat serta memperkaya bahan ajar dalam mempelajari ragam bahasa dalam bahasa Prancis di kehidupan sehari-hari.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi unsur budaya Prancis yang direpresentasikan secara tersurat dan menganalisis seperti apa representasi tersebut dikonstruksi dalam lirik lagu Les Champs-Élysées oleh Joe Dassin. Penelitian ini menggunakan teori representasi Stuart Hall untuk analisis konstruksi makna dan konsep unsur budaya Koentjaraningrat untuk kategorisasi unsur budaya. Metode yang digunakan pada penelitian ini yaitu pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif dengan teknik analisis isi. Diperoleh hasil yang menunjukkan bahwa lirik lagu secara eksplisit mengkonstruksi berbagai unsur budaya Prancis yang termasuk dalam Organisasi Sosial, Sistem Pengetahuan, Kesenian, Sistem Mata Pencaharian Hidup, dan Sistem Peralatan Hidup dan Teknologi. Unsur-unsur tersebut menggambarkan kehidupan sosial yang menunjukkan nilai-nilai budaya, ekspresi seni, kegiatan ekonomi, pengetahuan akan ruang, serta penggunaan teknologi. Oleh karena itu, lagu Les Champs-Élysées tidak hanya sebagai hiburan, tetapi berfungsi juga sebagai media yang mengkonstruksi budaya Prancis yang kaya akan kehidupan sosial yang aktif, ekspresi seni yang beragam, kegiatan ekonomi, pengetahuan akan ruang, serta penggunaan teknologi dalam keseharian.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis metode penerjemahan yang digunakan pada bahasa slang dalam takarir film Les Intouchables (2011) dan serta jenis slang yang terkandung dalam film ini. Teori yang digunakan yakni teori jenis bahasa slang dari Allan dan Burridge (2006) serta teori metode penerjemahan dari Peter Newmark (1988). Metode yang digunakan yaitu metode deskriptif dengan pendekatan kualitatif. Data dikumpulkan dengan teknik observasi dan simak catat serta terkumpul berupa kata atau frasa slang yang terdapat pada film Les Intouchables, kemudian dianalisis jenis slang dan metode penerjemahannya berdasarkan teori yang digunakan. Hasil dari penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ditemukan 100 data kata serta frasa slang yang terbagi ke dalam lima jenis slang berdasarkan teori Allan dan Burridge namun hanya ditemukan empat jenis yaitu fresh and creative slang sebanyak 57 data, flippant slang sebanyak 4 data, imitative slang sebanyak 37 data, clipping slang sebanyak 2 data, dan tidak ditemukan acronym slang. Kemudian dari delapan metode penerjemahan berdasarkan teori Newmark ditemukan lima metode yaitu faithful translation sebanyak 9 data, adaptation sebanyak 3 data, free translation sebanyak 6 data, idiomatic translation sebanyak 6 data, dan communicative translation sebanyak 76 data, tidak ditemukan word-for-word, literal translation, dan semantic translation. Slang yang bersifat baru dan kreatif mendominasi di film Les Intouchables, serta penerjemah mengutamakan penyampaian yang jelas dan alami kepada audiens BSa meskipun kurang mempertahankan bentuk aslinya.

Abstract

Artikel ini membahas representasi budaya Baroque Prancis dalam media digital melalui situs resmi Château de Versailles. Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh peran penting web resmi dalam menyampaikan dan membingkai warisan budaya kepada audiens global di era digital. Tujuan penelitian adalah menganalisis bentuk representasi budaya Baroque melalui elemen visual dan tekstual serta mengidentifikasi strategi representasi yang dibangun dari integrasi keduanya. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan analisis dokumen digital terhadap teks kuratorial, visual arsitektur dan interior, lanskap taman, serta tata letak visual situs. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa budaya Baroque direpresentasikan melalui visual monumental, ornamen dekoratif, komposisi simetris, palet warna dominan, dan narasi kuratorial yang menekankan kemegahan, hierarki sosial, serta legitimasi kekuasaan monarki. Integrasi visual dan teks membentuk representasi budaya yang kohesif dan terkurasi. Penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa situs resmi Château de Versailles berfungsi sebagai media pembentukan makna dan identitas budaya Baroque Prancis dalam konteks warisan budaya digital.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the similarities and differences between French language and Indonesian language through a contrastive analysis approach focusing on phonology, morphology, and syntax. At the phonological level, the main differences lie in the vowel and consonant systems, nasalization, stress patterns, and the pronunciation of final sounds. In terms of morphology, French exhibits a complex inflectional system, including verb conjugation and grammatical marking of gender and number, whereas Indonesian tends to be agglutinative, employing affixation without significant morphological changes based on gender or number. Syntactically, both languages generally follow a Subject–Predicate–Object (SPO) structure; however, they differ in noun phrase structure, article usage, agreement, and adjective placement. The findings indicate that these structural differences may cause linguistic interference in foreign language learning, particularly for Indonesian learners of French. This research is expected to contribute to the field of contrastive linguistics and foreign language teaching.

Abstract

This study discusses the analysis of connotative meaning in the translation of Indila’s song lyrics from Frenc to Bahasa Indonesia. Connotative meaning plays an important role in conveying emotional and aesthetic messages. The aim of this research is to identify the forms of connotative meaning in the translated lyrics and to classify them based on Peter Newmark’s translation methods. This study employs a descriptive qualitative approach with purposive sampling on three songs by Indila from the Mini World (2014) album: Dernière Danse, Tourner Dans Le Vide, and Love Story. The results show that connotative meaning plays a crucial role in expressing emotional messages in there songs. A total of 51 lines containing connotative meaning were found, with the dominant translation methods being the idiomatic translation (25 data), semantic translation (19), and communicative translation (5 data).

Abstract

The objectives of this study are as follows: 1) to analyze the listening comprehension materials and exercise types for A1-level French language learning on the francaisfacile.rfi.fr website; 2) to assess the alignment of the materials and exercise types with the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) standards for listening comprehension skills at A1 level; and 3) to identify the strengths and weaknesses of the listening materials and exercise types on the website as a learning medium. This study employed a qualitative descriptive approach. The data were obtained through literature review and documentation analysis, conducted online via the francaisfacile.rfi.fr website during the period of October-Desember 2025. The research population includes all A1-level French listening comprehension materials and exercises on the francaisfacile.rfi.fr website. Purposive sampling was used, focusing on A1-level listening materials and exercises. The research instruments consist of material analysis tables based on Bérard’s theory, a CEFR-based material alignment table adapted from Chauvet et al.’s theory, and an exercise types classification table based on Tagliante’s theory. The results show that the A1-level listening materials are divided into three main themes, namely Comprendre l’actualité en français, Réviser les points de langue, and Communiquer au quotidien. The exercise types were varied but predominantly consisted of single-correct-answer multiple-choice questions. The materials and exercises meet the CEFR level A1 standards. The website’s strengths lie in its comprehensive materials and authentic audio resources. However, it has limitations in terms of exercise variety, as well as the absence of communicative elements and teacher involvement. Therefore, the francaisfacile.rfi.fr website is considered suitable as a supplementary learning medium for A1-level French listening skills.

Abstract

Translating interrogative sentences is crucial to preserving the original dialogue's meaning and nuance, as well as conveying emotions such as curiosity or affirmation to the audience. This study aims to analyze the ideology, methods, and translation techniques used and the acceptability of the translated texts of interrogative sentences in Ernest et Célestine. Research on interrogative sentences is still limited, especially in animated films like Ernest et Célestine. Most of the previous studies discuss translation broadly without focusing on interrogative sentences. Using the descriptive qualitative method, this research analyzes and descriptively present the ideology, methods, and techniques used in translating interrogative sentences. In this study, the researcher will classify interrogative sentences based on Anne Dagnac's theory (2024), then analyze the translation ideology based on Venuti's theory and Newmark's translation method (1988) in Siregar (2017), and Molina and Albir's translation technique (2002) in Emzir (2015). The study identifies four translation technique combinations: single, duplet, triplet, and quartet. Among the 18 analyzed samples, domestication was the translation ideology used. The most frequently used translation methods were communicative translation (16 cases), followed by free translation (1 case) and literal translation (1 case). Eight translation techniques were identified, including reduction, common equivalence, adaptation, modulation, amplification, transposition, borrowing, and literal translation. The triplet technique was the most common, followed by quartet, duplet, and single techniques. The translation of interrogative sentences in Ernest et Célestine prioritizes domestication to improve acceptability in the local cultural context, achieved through a combination of translation methods and techniques

Abstract

Analysis of French language textbooks is still limited, the restricted accessibility of textbooks in Indonesia as reference resources for studying French is the cause of this obstacle. Meanwhile, the availability of these textbooks is very much needed, both by teachers and learners. The purpose of this research on the Édito B1-Méthode de Français book is to examine the completeness of the content profile and identity of this book and analyze the content of French language materials based on the standards established by CECRL. The purpose of this study is to provide insight on the textbook's applicability as a resource for instructors and students pursuing French at the B1 level
