Abstract

This article aims to examine in depth the concept of noble character education from the perspective of Ustadz Adi Hidayat and its relevance to the formation of Muslim character in the digital era. The background of this study stems from the growing moral crisis among younger generations, which demands a renewed approach to moral education based on Islamic values. This research employs a library research method by analyzing classical and contemporary literature, including Ustadz Adi Hidayat’s digital da’wah content. The findings reveal that noble character is a direct manifestation of strong Islamic creed (aqidah) and is inseparable from the formation of a Muslim’s personality. Ustadz Adi Hidayat emphasizes the importance of emulating the Prophet Muhammad’s morals—siddiq (truthfulness), amanah (trustworthiness), fathanah (intelligence), and tabligh (conveying the message)—as an integrative model of character education. These findings highlight that moral education rooted in correct faith, combined with the strategic use of digital media, offers a relevant solution for developing spiritually, morally, and socially strong Muslim generations. This study contributes conceptually to the development of an Islamic character education model that is responsive to contemporary challenges. Artikel ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji secara mendalam konsep pendidikan akhlak mulia dalam perspektif Ustadz Adi Hidayat serta relevansinya dalam pembentukan karakter Muslim di era digital. Latar belakang penelitian ini didasarkan pada meningkatnya krisis moral generasi muda yang menuntut pembaruan pendekatan pendidikan akhlak berbasis nilai-nilai Islam. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode studi pustaka (library research) dengan menganalisis literatur klasik dan kontemporer, termasuk konten dakwah digital Ustadz Adi Hidayat. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa akhlak mulia merupakan manifestasi langsung dari akidah yang kokoh dan tidak dapat dipisahkan dalam pembentukan kepribadian Muslim. Ustadz Adi Hidayat menekankan pentingnya meneladani akhlak Rasulullah SAW—siddiq, amanah, fathanah, dan tabligh—sebagai model pendidikan karakter yang integratif. Temuan ini menegaskan bahwa pendidikan akhlak yang ditopang oleh pemahaman akidah yang benar, ditambah dengan optimalisasi media digital, dapat menjadi solusi strategis dalam membentuk generasi Muslim yang unggul secara spiritual, moral, dan sosial. Penelitian ini memberikan kontribusi konseptual terhadap pengembangan model pendidikan karakter Islam yang relevan dengan tantangan zaman.

Abstract

This study explores the integrated relationship between Aqidah (Islamic creed), Sharia (Islamic law), and Akhlaq (morality) as fundamental components of Islam that form a unified framework of religious life. Employing a qualitative method through literature review and content analysis, this research focuses on the perspective of Ustadz Abdul Somad. The findings reveal that, according to Abdul Somad, Aqidah serves as the foundational belief underpinning all aspects of life. Sharia represents the practical implementation of Aqidah through acts of worship and legal rulings, while Akhlaq emerges as the ethical outcome of adhering to Sharia rooted in a firm Aqidah. These three elements are hierarchically and functionally interconnected: Aqidah motivates the practice of Sharia, which in turn cultivates noble character. The study underscores the importance of an integrated Islamic educational approach that harmonizes these three dimensions to shape a balanced Muslim personality. The findings contribute to a deeper understanding of the unity between belief, practice, and ethics in Islam. Penelitian ini mengkaji hubungan terintegrasi antara Aqidah (keimanan), Syariah (hukum Islam), dan Akhlaq (moral) sebagai tiga komponen fundamental dalam Islam yang membentuk satu kesatuan dalam praktik kehidupan beragama. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif melalui studi pustaka dan analisis isi terhadap pandangan Ustadz Abdul Somad. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa menurut Abdul Somad, Aqidah merupakan dasar keyakinan yang melandasi seluruh aspek kehidupan. Syariah merupakan manifestasi praktis dari Aqidah melalui ibadah dan hukum Islam, sedangkan Akhlaq adalah buah dari pelaksanaan Syariah yang didasari oleh Aqidah yang kuat. Ketiganya saling terhubung secara hierarkis dan fungsional: Aqidah mendorong pelaksanaan Syariah, yang pada gilirannya melahirkan akhlak yang mulia. Studi ini menekankan pentingnya pendekatan pendidikan Islam yang integratif untuk membentuk kepribadian Muslim yang seimbang. Temuan ini memperkaya wawasan keislaman dan memperkuat pemahaman masyarakat akan kesatuan antara keimanan, ibadah, dan moralitas dalam Islam.

Abstract

The paper "Building Noble Morals Through Worship: A Study of Buya Yahya and Ustadz Adi Hidayat" investigates the connection between moral growth in modern society and worship. The significance of worship in forming moral character and personality is emphasized in this article. This study examines how worship can promote high morals through literature reviews and video analysis of the two scholars' teachings. The main findings show that sincere worship leads to positive moral behavior, and both scholars emphasize the importance of preparation and intention in worship. The study comes to the conclusion that raising the standard of worship is crucial for moral growth and promotes more research into how worship shapes character. There is also discussion of limitations and suggestions for further study.

Abstract

The command regarding wudu (ablution) was revealed simultaneously with the command to perform prayer (salah). Wudu serves as a fundamental prerequisite for the acceptance of one’s acts of worship. It offers numerous benefits, both spiritually and physically. Therefore, learning the fiqh (Islamic jurisprudence) of wudu is strongly emphasized for Muslims, in order to understand the various issues that may arise in daily life. One of the recurring issues in society is the practice of performing wudu in the toilet. Toilets are generally considered unclean places and are believed to be dwellings of evil spirits (shayatin). Thus, performing a purification ritual such as wudu in such a place seems contradictory—wudu aims to purify, yet it is carried out in a location perceived as impure. This issue requires an in-depth examination, particularly to explore the views of scholars and to compare different scholarly opinions. A prominent Indonesian scholar whose views are considered authoritative in matters of fiqh al-taharah (jurisprudence of purification) is Ustaz Abdul Somad (UAS). This study investigates various sources that present Ustaz Abdul Somad’s perspectives, one of which is his lecture series available on YouTube. The YouTube channel titled “Ustadz Abdul Somad Official” provides accessible explanations on this matter. In one of his Q&A sessions with the congregation, Ustaz Abdul Somad delivered a comprehensive and clear explanation regarding the permissibility of performing wudu in a toilet. His explanation was based on prophetic traditions (hadith) and narrations regarding whether or not the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) had engaged in similar practices.According to the response provided, the Prophet Muhammad SAW permitted performing wudu in a toilet. However, he emphasized the importance of observing proper etiquette while in such a place, including the prohibition of verbally reciting the basmalah (the phrase "Bismillah") aloud within the toilet area.

Abstract

Islam as a comprehensive religion regulates all aspects of life, including the economy, by emphasizing the importance of avoiding the practice of usury. This study aims to understand and analyze Buya Yahya's lectures on usury, delivered through his official YouTube channel. The method used is descriptive qualitative, in which the researcher listens to the lecture directly, records the key points, and analyzes the content of the lecture using content analysis techniques. The results showed that usury, which is prohibited in Islam, consists of several types, including usury of fadhl, usury of nasi'ah, and usury of qardh. Riba fadhl occurs in the exchange of unequal goods of the same kind, riba nasi'ah relates to delayed payment, and riba qardh involves additions in loans. Buya Yahya's explanation emphasizes that even though the transaction is not directly harmful, violating the provisions of the sharia is still considered haram. The phenomenon of high usury practices in Indonesia reflects the lack of public understanding of its negative consequences, which can lead to an economic crisis. Therefore, it is important for Muslims to have an in-depth understanding of usury and its effects, as well as apply sharia principles in every economic activity. This research is expected to increase public awareness to stay away from all forms of usury transactions, both individually and institutionally, in order to achieve economic welfare in accordance with Islamic teachings. Islam sebagai agama yang menyeluruh mengatur seluruh aspek kehidupan, termasuk ekonomi, dengan menekankan pentingnya menjauhi praktik riba. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memahami dan menganalisis ceramah Buya Yahya mengenai riba, yang disampaikan melalui kanal YouTube resmi beliau. Metode yang digunakan adalah kualitatif deskriptif, di mana peneliti mendengarkan ceramah secara langsung, mencatat poin-poin penting, dan menganalisis isi ceramah dengan teknik analisis isi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa riba, yang dilarang dalam Islam, terdiri dari beberapa jenis, termasuk riba fadhl, riba nasi’ah, dan riba qardh. Riba fadhl terjadi dalam pertukaran barang sejenis yang tidak setara, riba nasi’ah berkaitan dengan penundaan pembayaran, dan riba qardh melibatkan tambahan dalam pinjaman. Penjelasan Buya Yahya menekankan bahwa meskipun transaksi tidak merugikan secara langsung, pelanggaran terhadap ketentuan syariat tetap dianggap haram. Fenomena tingginya praktik riba di Indonesia mencerminkan kurangnya pemahaman masyarakat terhadap konsekuensi negatifnya, yang dapat mengakibatkan krisis ekonomi. Oleh karena itu, penting bagi umat Islam untuk memiliki pemahaman yang mendalam mengenai riba dan dampaknya, serta menerapkan prinsip-prinsip syariah dalam setiap aktivitas ekonomi. Penelitian ini diharapkan dapat meningkatkan kesadaran masyarakat untuk menjauhi segala bentuk transaksi ribawi, baik secara individu maupun kelembagaan, demi mencapai kesejahteraan ekonomi yang sesuai dengan ajaran Islam.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh pentingnya pendidikan yang tidak hanya berorientasi pada capaian akademik, tetapi juga berfokus pada pembentukan karakter religius, toleran, dan moderat. SD Muhammadiyah 18 Palembang menyelenggarakan ekstrakurikuler diniyah sebagai salah satu program unggulan untuk memperkuat pemahaman keagamaan siswa sekaligus menanamkan nilai moderasi beragama. Kegiatan ini meliputi pembelajaran iqra’ dan Al-Qur’an, hafalan doa, hadits, praktik shalat, hingga tahfidz, yang dirancang agar siswa tidak hanya memahami teori, tetapi juga mampu mengimplementasikannya dalam kehidupan sehari-hari. Metode penelitian menggunakan pendekatan deskriptif kualitatif dengan teknik observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi dengan lokasi penelitian di SD Muhammadiyah 18 Palembang. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ekstrakurikuler diniyah memberikan kontribusi nyata dalam menumbuhkan sikap moderasi beragama siswa. Hal ini tercermin dalam empat aspek utama: komitmen kebangsaan melalui keterlibatan rutin dalam upacara bendera, sikap toleransi terhadap perbedaan pada bacaan kegiatan shalat, latar belakang dan kemampuan teman, penolakan terhadap kekerasan dengan penyelesaian konflik secara damai, serta sikap akomodatif terhadap kebudayaan lokal melalui kegiatan Jumat bersih dan gotong royong. Selain itu, pembelajaran yang dilakukan menggunakan metode membaca, sima’i (mendengarkan), tahsin tilawah, dan menulis terbukti efektif dalam meningkatkan kemampuan siswa sekaligus membiasakan sikap disiplin, percaya diri, dan tanggung jawab. Faktor pendukung keberhasilan program ini antara lain dukungan penuh dari pihak sekolah, fasilitas yang memadai, serta antusiasme tinggi dari siswa dan orang tua. Namun demikian, hambatan tetap dijumpai, di antaranya benturan jadwal dengan kegiatan bimbingan belajar di luar sekolah dan keterbatasan waktu akibat padatnya kurikulum. Kesimpulannya, ekstrakurikuler diniyah berperan strategis sebagai sarana pembinaan keagamaan sekaligus penguatan moderasi beragama di tingkat sekolah dasar. Program ini terbukti mampu membentuk generasi muda yang religius, toleran, anti kekerasan, serta berkarakter kebangsaan, sehingga layak dikembangkan lebih luas sebagai model pendidikan moderasi beragama di Indonesia.

Abstract

This study aims to maintain and improve the memorization of kalamullah by using a specific technique, namely the Thariqah Tasalsuli method. This research is a qualitative study with a descriptive approach. It uses two types of data sources: primary data obtained directly from interviews with the Program Coordinator, lecturers of the Islamic Education Study Program (PAI), and students; and secondary data in the form of documents. The researcher was directly involved in the field at the Islamic Education Study Program of UIN Raden Fatah Palembang to collect relevant data using observation, interviews, and documentation. The data were analyzed through data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing.The findings of this study on the effectiveness of the Thariqah Tasalsuli method in improving Qur'an memorization among students of the Islamic Education Study Program, class of 2023, Faculty of Tarbiyah and Teacher Training at UIN Raden Fatah Palembang, show that this method is effective in enhancing both the quality and quantity of Qur'an memorization. The method emphasizes memorizing verses in an orderly, sequential, and continuous manner from the beginning to the end of a surah, which strengthens memory, reduces the chance of forgetting, and builds systematic and consistent repetition.
