Abstract

Rimpang bangle (Zingiber purpureum Roxb.) digolongkan sebagai rempah-rempah yang memiliki khasiat obat, seperti rimpangnya yang dapat dimanfaatkan sebagai bumbu dapur dan bahan pengobatan. Rimpang bangle mengandung senyawa kimia diantaranya adalah minyak atsiri, saponin, tanin, alkaloid, dan terpenoid. Zingiber purpureum Roxb. merupakan salah satu rimpang yang dipercaya memiliki khasiat untuk mengobati berbagai penyakit, salah satunya penyakit yang disebabkan oleh jamur. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui daya hambat ekstrak etanol 70% rimpang bangle (Zingiber purpureum Roxb.) terhadap pertumbuhan jamur Tricophyton rubrum. Uji daya hambat ekstrak etanol 70% rimpang bangle (Zingiber purpureum Roxb.) terhadap pertumbuhan jamur Tricophyton rubrum dilakukan dengan menggunakan Metode Kirby-Bauer. Hasil penelitian yang diperoleh, ekstrak etanol 70% rimpang bangle (Zingiber purpureum Roxb.) berpengaruh dalam menghambat pertumbuhan jamur Tricophyton rubrum dari konsentrasi 10% rata-rata zona hambat yang terbentuk sebesar 5,66 mm, 20% sebesar 10 mm; 30% sebesar 12 mm; 40% sebesar 13,66 mm; 50% sebesar 16,33 mm; 60% sebesar 17,66 mm; 70% sebesar 20,66 mm; 80% sebesar 24,23 mm; 90% sebesar 28,33 mm; dan 100% sebesar 43,33 mm. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian yang diperoleh tersebut menunjukkan bahwa rimpang bangle (Zingiber purpureum Roxb.) berpotensi sebagai antijamur.

Abstract

Pengembangan budidaya jamur akan terus memberikan sumbangan bagi pembangunan nasional, baik secara langsung maupun tidak langsung. Beberapa alasan yang mendasari pentingnya budidaya jamur di Indonesia antara lain adalah potensi sumber daya alamnya yang besar dan beragam, besarnya penduduk yang menggantungkan hidupnya pada sektor ini dan budidaya jamur menjadi basis pertumbuhan di pedesaan. Tasikmalaya memiliki iklim tropis, dengan curah hujan yang signifikan dan suhu rata-rata 25.2 °C. Hal ini sangat mendukung untuk budidaya jamur tiram. Masyarakat Tasikmalaya belum banyak yang melakukan budidaya jamur, hal ini dikarenakan kurangnya pengetahuan dan keterampilan dalam melalukan budidaya tersebut, petani yang sudah menjalankannyapun masih diperlukan pengetahuan tambahan untuk meningkatkan produksi jamurnya.Tujuan dari penyuluhan dan pelatihan ini adalah untuk memberikan pengetahuan dan keterampilan dalam melakukan budidaya jamur tiram secara terpadu baik untuk petani maupun selain petani. Metode yang digunakan yaitu dengan ceramah dan praktik langsung membuat bibit dan media tanam jamur di laboratorium parasitologi STIKes Bakti Tunas Husada Tasikmalaya. Kegiatan ini diikuti oleh kurang lebih 120 peserta yang berasal dari beberapa daerah di Tasikmalaya maupun di luar Kota Tasikmalaya. Peserta sangat antusias dalam mengikuti kegiatan tersebut.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to cost analysis whether the oyster mushroom cultivation is feasible or not to be continued. The method used is a survey of the problem, counseling and training on mushroom cultivation. The cost analysis used in analyzing the feasibility of this business is the interview method and direct observation of the business activities carried out. The results of the optimization of seed and baglog production carried out at the Syahid Mushroom began with a problem survey, the implementation of SOP for oyster mushroom cultivation in an integrated manner, the production of 6000 bottles of seeds in 3 months, and the production of 7200 baglogs in 2 weeks. The results of the R / C ratio analysis of 2.51 with a BEP of Rp. 4067 seedlings from the selling price of Rp. 10,000, BEP for seed production of 2440 bottles of the selling price of Rp. 10,000 per bottle while BEP of the baglog price of Rp. 2591 from the selling price of Rp. 2,500, BEP of production baglog 7463 bottles from the selling price of IDR 2,500 per baglog. The results of the cost analysis can be used as an indicator of the feasibility of a business, and the oyster mushroom cultivation business carried out at Syahid Mushroom is said to be feasible and profitable.     Keywords ; Oyster mushroom cultvation, R/C ratio analysis, break event point, and Syahid mushroom

Abstract

One of the strongest contributing factors in dandruff scalps is the presence of fungal pathogen or called as Malassezia. Several studies have found a connection between Malassezia and scalp health, one of which is caused by pathogenic fungal infections including Pityrosporum ovale, Microsporum gypseum, and Candida albicans. Clove flowers are known to contain eugenol and its derivative compounds which have antimicrobial, antifungal, antiseptic, and local anesthetic activity. This research aims to determine the effect of clove flower essential oil (Syzygium aromaticum) against some dandruff-causing fungi. The research method was to test the inhibitory power of clove flower essential oil using the diffusion method (Kirby Bauer technique). Samples of pathogenic fungi were cultured on SDA media (Saboroud Dextrose Agar) and given discs that had been given several concentrations of clove flower essential oil. The concentrations used were 10%, 20%, 30%, 40%, 50%, 60%, 70%, 80%, 90%, 100%, positive control using 2% ketoconazole and negative control using virgin coconut oil (VCO). The results showed a significant effect between the ability of essential oils to inhibit the growth of some fungi that cause dandruff. The treatment of clove flower essential oil against M. gypseum at the concentration of 10% has an inhibitory ability of 33,05 mm and at the concentration of 100% amounted to 63.95 mm. Meanwhile, the inhibition percentage in P. ovale with a concentration of 10% and 100% of extract were 14,75 mm and 46,15 mm, respectively. The inhibition rate in C. albicans with the concentration of 10% extract and 100% of extract was 13,5 mm and 39,35 mm. The research shows that clove flower essential oil inhibits the growth of several pathogenic fungal in vitro.

Abstract

Pleurotus sp. or oyster mushroom is one type of edible mushroom that contains essential nutrients for the human body. This mushroom has been widely cultivated in Indonesia, one of which is Pleurotus sp. from Tasikmalaya. The key to the success of oyster mushroom cultivation is the seeds and growing medium or baglog, while the factors that influence the quality of the seeds include the type of medium. This study aims to determine 1) the effect of the type of seed medium from the type of cereals used on the growth of mycelium Pleurotus sp. from Tasikmalaya, 2) determine the type of seed medium that has the best mycelium growth. This study uses an experimental method with a Completely Randomized Design (CRD). The parameters measured include the main parameters, namely the rate of growth of mycelium Pleurotus sp. from Tasikmalaya on the seed medium. Supporting parameters are the quality of mycelium growth in the seed medium, the proximate value of cereals used for the seed medium. The results of the analysis showed that the medium of cereals used as seeds ready for cultivation could affect the quality of the seeds produced. The seedling medium from milled corn has the best growth of mycelium.

Abstract

In Indonesia, there are numerous therapeutic plants found. Some of the plants used in herbal medicine are Karuk leaf (Piper sarmentosum Roxb.) belong to the Piperaceae family. Karuk leaf has chemical contents such as saponins, polyphenols, flavonoids, and essential oils and many tests are carried out on several bacteria, but testing of fungi is rarely studied. This study aims to determine the ethanol extract activities from karuk leaf in inhibiting the growth of the Malassezia furfur fungus and to determine its minimum inhibition by using the Kirby-Bauer method. The study was conducted by an experimental method of the M. furfur fungus using the Kirby-Bauer method. The ethanol extract from karuk leaf was made in various concentrations and tested on 0.5 McFarland fungus by diffusion on Sabouraud Dextrose Agar (SDA). The results of this analysis showed that the ethanol extract of Karuk leaf could inhibit the M. furfur fungus at a concentration of 30% by 5.3 mm, 40% by 6.6 mm, 50% by 7.6 mm, 60% by 11.3 mm, 70% by 12.5 mm, 80% by 15.6 mm, 90% by 17.4 mm, and 100% by 19.5 mm. Based on the results of the study and the data analysis, it can be concluded that several concentrations of ethanol extract of Karuk leaf affect the growth of M. furfur in vitro.

Abstract

The prosperous fertile agricultural group in KP ponyo RT 01 RW 10 Tawangbanteng Village, Sukaratu District, Tasikmalaya Regency mobilized the community of their farmer groups to try to rise from adversity due to the Covid-19 pandemic. One of the programs or activities of the prosperous fertile farmer group community is the cultivation of orchids. However, their cultivation is still conventional so that productivity is low and marketing is still done on a local sub-district scale. The purpose of this service is to increase the productivity of seeds in quantity and quality with in vitro and in vivo culture techniques, as well as the productivity of increasing skills and income for the community of prosperous fertile farmer groups. The methods used consisted of surveys, counseling and training on cultivation, marketing of seeds and orchids in pots. The results of the service activities are increasing community knowledge and skills related to in vitro orchid cultivation, orchid acclimatization, orchid maintenance, and orchid marketing..

Abstract

Oyster mushroom cultivation is one solution for improving a community’s economy. In mushroom cultivation, is necessary to pay attention to various things that support the success of its production. The success of the production of seeds and bag logs of oyster mushrooms is an indicator of feasibility in this business. Success in production can be judged from a large amount of production enabled by hyalinizing the risk of failure. The parameters of the feasibility or success of the business require a cost analysis that is appropriate to the conditions and needs. One of the farmer groups that carry out mushroom cultivation business is Ganda Mandiri Farmer Group in Sukamanah Village, Ciamis Regency. The purpose of this community service was to increase the target farmers’ understanding and improve their skills in mushroom cultivation and determine the feasibility of oyster mushroom cultivation for the farmer group. The methods used during this activity were interviews and direct observation of the farmer group’s business activities. After the counseling and training, it was found that the farmer group’s members showed a significant increase in their skills, especially in making seeds. This farmer group could produce as many as 7,200 bag logs within 4 weeks. The result of the analysis of the R/C ratio was 2.51. The results of the cost analysis could be used as an indicator of the feasibility for a business, and the oyster mushroom cultivation business run by Ganda Mandiri Farmer Group was said to be feasible and profitable.

Abstract

 ABSTRACTCases of dengue fever in Indonesia occur every year; therefore, efforts are needed to overcome them. One of the efforts to overcome fever can be done by increasing public awareness of prevention by practicing the CDB movement (Closing, Draining, and Burying). In addition to these efforts, there are also other efforts, namely using ovitrap as a mosquito population control method. Our community service activity aims to increase the knowledge of respondents (housewives) to control the mosquito population, a vector of dengue fever. The method used is to provide counseling about the vectors of dengue fever, Aedes sp. breeding places, and how to use ovitrap on a household scale as an effort to reduce the population of mosquitoes transmitting dengue fever, Aedes aegypti. The achievement of increasing the knowledge of the respondents was carried out by conducting a pre-test and post-test so that the number of correct answers from respondents could be compared. The results of this activity indicated that there was an increase in residents' knowledge of the types of mosquito vectors for dengue fever, the mosquito vector life cycle of dengue fever, the characteristics of mosquito breeding sites for dengue fever vectors, and the movement to prevent the transmission of dengue fever.ABSTRAKKasus penyakit demam berdarah di Indonesia terjadi setiap tahun, oleh karena itu diperlukan upaya untuk penanggulangannya. Salah satu upaya penanggulangan penyakit demam dapat dilakukan dengan meningkatkan kesadaran masyarakat dalam melakukan pencegahan dengan mempraktekkan gerakan 3M (menutup, menguras, dan mengubur). Selain upaya tersebut terdapat terdapat pula upaya lainnya yaitu dengan menggunakan ovitrap sebagai salah satu metode pengendalian populasi nyamuk. Kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat yang kami bertujuan meningkatkan pengetahuan responden (ibu rumah tangga) dalam upaya pengendalian populasi nyamuk vektor penyakit demam berdarah. Metode yang dilakukan yaitu dengan memberikan penyuluhan mengenai vektor penular penyakit DBD, tempat perindukan Aedes sp., dan cara penggunaan ovitrap dalam skala rumah tangga sebagai upaya menurunkan populasi nyamuk penular demam berdarah dengue Aedes aegypti. Adapun capaian peningkatan pengetahuan responden dilakukan dengan melakukan pre test dan post test, sehingga jumlah jawaban benar dari responden dapat dibandingkan. Hasil dari kegiatan ini menunjukkan bahwa terjadi peningkatan pengetahuan warga terhadap pengetahuan mengenai jenis nyamuk vektor penyakit demam berdarah; siklus hidup nyamuk vektor penyakit demam berdarah; karakteristik tempat perindukan nyamuk vektor penyakit demam berdarah; dan gerakan pencegahan penularan penyakit demam berdarah.
