Abstract

This research aims to (1) find out the effect of the combination of chicken blood meal and rice bran on the quality of broiler chicken feed, (2) find out the best combination of chicken blood meal and rice bran on the quality of broiler chicken feed, and (3) find out that the research results can be used as a source of study in biology. The type of research used is quantitative, using experimental methods and random sampling techniques. This research used a Completely Randomized Design (CRD), applying 4 treatments and 5 repetitions with P1 (10 grams of chicken blood meal, 190 grams of rice bran, 150 ml of pumakkal formula), P2 (15 grams of chicken blood meal, 185 grams of rice bran, 150 ml of pumakkal formula), P3 (20 grams of chicken blood meal, 180 grams of rice bran, 150 ml of pumakkal formula), and P4 (25 grams of chicken blood meal, 175 grams of rice bran, 150 ml of pumakkal). Based on the research results, it can be concluded that there is a real influence of protein content on the quality of the feed combined with chicken blood meal and rice bran, but there is no real influence of fat, water, and crude fiber content. With the best research results, the protein content in P4 = 21.941%, the fat content in P1 = 9.513, the water content in P1 = 14.009%, and the crude fiber content in P1 = 4.949%. The results of this research can be used as biology teaching material in the form of a student worksheet on biotechnology material for high school class XII. The results of the validation of learning resources by material experts, design experts, and language experts concluded that the student worksheet was suitable for use as a learning resource, with an average score of 95% for material experts, 80% for design experts, and 83.3% for language experts.

Abstract

One of the problems that exist in the Cendrawasih market in Metro City is market waste in the form of vegetable waste and fruit waste because of the odr I cause, besides ha I have an impact on human health, the environment, and socio-economics. So, to reduce the amount of waste piled up, you can use it by cultivating maggots. This research aims (1) to determine the effect of various media on the growth of maggot larvae (Hermetia illucens), (2) to determine the media that provide the best influence on the growth of maggot larvae (Hermetia Illucens), and (3) to determine whether the results are suitable as a student worksheet (LKPD). The type of research was quantitative using experimental research design and a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) method with 4 treatments, each with 3 replications. 4 treatments are (P0): 500 g of oil palm meal, (P1): 500 g vegetable waste, (P2): 500 g fruit waste, and (P3): 250 g vegetable waste + 250 g fruit waste. The research used 7 days old of maggot larvae. This research was conducted for 20 days 38B Banjar Rejo. Based on the weight of maggot larvae and the final weight growth media, the best growth media is (P3) with 250 g of vegetable waste + 250 g of fruit waste. The results of this research can be used as a student worksheet resource in the form of a class.

Abstract

This study aimed to (1) Know the effect of a mixture of waste tea grounds, coffee grounds and pineapple peel on the growth of water spinach (Ipomoea reptans Poir) with simple hydroponic media, (2) Know what dose of a mixture of waste tea grounds, coffee grounds and pineapple peel that gives the best effect on the growth of water spinach (Ipomoea reptans Poir) with simple hydroponic media, (3) Know the results of the study can be used as biology teaching material in the form of student worksheet. The type of research used was quantitative using experimental methods and non-probability sampling techniques. This study used a Completely Randomized Design (CRD), applying 4 treatments and 3 replications with P0 (250 ml water), P1 (250 ml POC), P2 (200 ml POC+50 ml water), P3 (150 ml POC+ 100 ml water). Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that there was an increase in height and number of leaf blades on water spinach (Ipomoea reptans Poir). With the research results, the best plant height was at P3= 20.33 cm and for the best leaf blade results it was at P3= 14 strands. The results of this study can be used as biology teaching material in the form of of student worksheet on growth and development material for SMA class XII. The results of the validation of learning resources by material experts, design experts and linguists concluded that of student worksheet was feasible to use as a learning resource with an average score of 100% material experts, 80% design experts and 90% linguists

Abstract

Abstract

This study aims to explore the isolation of bioactive compounds from Polygala paniculata L. (Seven Winds plant) and evaluate its potential as an environmentally friendly anti-mosquito innovation. The research employed a laboratory-based experimental approach, including precise steps for sample preparation, extraction, partitioning, and phytochemical testing. A total of 500 grams of Polygala paniculata plant material were used, sourced from rice field areas where the plant naturally grows. The plants were washed, air-dried in the shade, and ground into simplicia. The simplicia was extracted using the maceration method with methanol for 24 hours, repeated four times. The extract was then evaporated using a rotary evaporator at 40–45°C, yielding 28.72 grams of viscous extract. The extract was partitioned using n-hexane and ethyl acetate solvents to separate compounds based on their polarity. Phytochemical analysis identified several bioactive compounds, including alkaloids, flavonoids, tannins, saponins, terpenoids, and phenolics. Among these, flavonoids, saponins, and terpenoids were identified as having significant potential biological activity, including natural insecticide properties. Although direct testing on Aedes aegypti was not conducted, the findings suggest that these compounds could play a role in future mosquito control applications. The study also contributes to educational practice by enhancing students’ understanding of bioactive compound isolation techniques. This study provides an example of how local biodiversity can be explored to develop eco-friendly solutions, with the potential for natural mosquito repellent products in the future. Further studies are needed to test the toxicity of these compounds and their practical efficacy in field conditions.
