Abstract

Dysmenorrhoea is one of the most common gynecological problems affecting more than 50% of women and causes an inability to perform daily activities for 1 to 3 days each month. One of the management of pain during menstruation is by relaxing deep breaths, namely by teaching clients how to do deep breaths and how to exhale slowly so as to reduce pain intensity and also increase lung ventilation and increase blood oxygenation. The purpose of this community service is to provide training to nursing students on deep breathing relaxation which can reduce menstrual pain (dysmenorrhoea). Deep breath relaxation training is carried out through the pretest stage, the training stage and the post test. There are 42 students who were given training in community service, namely nursing students from the 2016 and 2017 Muhammadiyah University of Gorontalo. The degree of dysmenorrhoea pain at the time of the pre test was mild pain 0% moderate pain as much as 81.0% and severe pain 19.0%. 9% and severe pain 19.0%. Based on the results of the training, it showed that most female students stated that this training was very useful because they gained knowledge and understanding of overcoming menstrual pain, after doing deep breathing relaxation students felt a decrease in dysmenorrhoea pain.

Abstract

Independence is a condition in which a person who has the will and ability tries to fulfill the demands of his life in a legal, reasonable and responsible manner for everything he does. The family has a very big role in the safety of the elderly, especially in preventing falls. The purpose of this study is that the public can find out the importance of family independence in carrying out family health tasks to reduce the risk of falling. There are five family health tasks that must be considered, including being able to recognize family health problems, being able to make appropriate action decisions, being able to provide care to sick family members, being able to modify the environment, and being able to take advantage of public health service facilities. It can be concluded that after counseling the family and the elderly have understood the task of family health, once a day the family teaches tandem walking to the elderly to reduce the risk of falling in the elderly in Pentadio Timur Village, Gorontalo Regency

Abstract

This service aims to serve as an understanding for the community in carrying out basic life support to reduce the occurrence of deaths caused by delays and inaccuracies in first aid. The service was carried out at Griya Lansia Jannati, Gorontalo Province. The sample amounted to 16 respondents. Techniques and Methods of Implementation using Pre-Test and Post-Test. pre-test and post-test questionnaires given to training participants to determine community understanding before and after being given Basic Life Support training. Analysis of the data obtained an assessment of the increase in knowledge before and after treatment using the Descriptive Static test. The results at the pre test were in the good category 37.5%, and the less category was 62.5% and the results at the post test were in the good category 68.8% and less category 31.3%. Based on the results of the training, it was shown that most of the elderly caregivers stated that this training was very useful because they gained knowledge and understanding of Basic Life Support. The results of the study there was an increase in knowledge before and after counseling, Conclusion: There was an increase in knowledge after counseling about Basic Life Support
