Abstract

The formulation of the problem in this study is whether there is a correlation between students' vocabulary mastery and their ability to translate English texts into Indonesian at MAS Al-Barokah Kolese students. The purpose of this study was to determine whether there was a correlation between students' vocabulary mastery and their ability to translate English texts into Indonesian at MAS Al-Barokah Kolese students. Data collection in this study was carried out using a research instrument in the form of a test to students to determine the correlation between students' vocabulary mastery and their ability to translate English text into Indonesian. This research is a quantitative research. The subjects of this study were 27 grade 10 students of MAS Al-Barokah Kolese. Data were analyzed using Statistical Product and Service Solution (SPSS) version 22.0. Based on the results of research and data analysis, it was concluded that there was a correlation between students' vocabulary mastery and their ability to translate English texts into Indonesian from grade 10 students at MAS Al-Barokah Kolese. This conclusion is based on the results of statistical analysis which found a significance level of 0.996 with an r table value of 0.381. The rxy value is greater than the r table value (0.996> 0.381) and the significance value is less than (0.5) or in other words the Null hypothesis (HO) is rejected and the alternative hypothesis (H1) is accepted.

Abstract

The Problem statement of this research was what factors affecting the English reading anxiety for class XI.I students of SMA Negeri 4 Pasarwajo. The purpose of this study was to identify the factors that influence the reading anxiety of class XI.I students of SMA Negeri 4 Pasarwajo. This research used the qualitative research design. The subject of this research was student class XI.I SMA Negeri 4 Pasarwajo year 2022/2023. The data was obtained by observation and interview then was analyzed by the researcher with three steps: data reduction, data display, and draw conclusion or verification. This research found that there were three factors that affected the reading anxiety students’ class XI.I SMA Negeri 4 Pasarwajo. Those were hard to Understand Text, fear of making mistakes, lack of confidence.

Abstract

The problem statement of this research was what are students’ perception about the English learning at SMA Negeri 3 Lakudo. The objective of this research was to determine students’ perception about the English learning at SMA Negeri 3 Lakudo. This research used the qualitative research design. The subject of this research was the class XI.IPA SMA Negeri 3 Lakudo in the academic year 2022/2023. The data was obtained by observation and interview then was analyzed by the researcher with three steps; data reduction, data display, and draw conclusion or verification. This research found that students’ perception about the English learning at SMA Negeri 3 Lakudo. Those were that students unpleasant feeling, students were not interested, students often feel bored in learning English and students often felt lazy in learning English.

Abstract

Penerapan model bisnis e-commerce dalam bidang perikanan memiliki ruang lingkup yang luas dan dapat mencakup berbagai aspek dalam industri perikanan. Beberapa ruang lingkup utama yang dapat pertimbangkan dalam menerapkan model bisnis e-commerce di bidang perikanan, mulai dari persediaan produksi, iklan, jaminan kualitas hingga pemasaran yang menggunakan platform digital. Ruang lingkup penerapan model bisnis e-commerce dalam bidang perikanan di Kecamatan Batauga sangat bervariasi, dan pelaku bisnis dapat memilih aspek-aspek mana yang paling relevan sesuai dengan tujuan dan sumber daya mereka. Hal ini penting untuk merencanakan dengan baik, menjaga kualitas produk, dan menjalankan operasi yang efisien untuk kesuksesan jangka panjang dalam industri perikanan di Kabupaten Buton Selatan.

Abstract

This community service aims to strengthen the capacity of digital promotion in Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) groups in South Buton Regency through a qualitative approach. The method of this activity was carried out by organising a seminar attended by MSME players in the region. The seminar was designed to provide an in-depth understanding of digital promotion strategies and the effective use of digital technology to increase the competitiveness and market reach of MSMEs. The results of the activity showed that the active participation of participants in the seminar was able to increase their digital knowledge and skills, thus enabling the implementation of more effective promotional strategies In addition, the findings underscore the importance of ongoing support and intensive training to ensure the implementation and sustainability of digital promotion strategies among MSME actors. In conclusion, strengthening digital promotion capacity can be a key factor in driving local economic growth and competitiveness of MSMEs in South Buton District.

Abstract

Understanding the language use strategies in political debates helps candidates craft their communication strategies strategically. Candidates need to resonate with voters, address their concerns, and effectively communicate their vision for the nation through their language and communication style. The objective of the study is to provide a comprehensive description of the strategies of language use in the Indonesian vice presidential candidates debate in the 2024 election to construct their identities, to frame issues in a particular way, to manipulate information to gain an advantage over their opponents, to establish authority and credibility, to persuade voters, and to present themselves in a certain light. It used content analysis to understand the main issues addressed and the candidates' stances on the issues. The data were collected by transcribing spoken content from video and audio recordings and then analyzed using thematic analysis, consisting of familiarization, generating themes, review, refinement, and defining and naming themes. The results showed that all three candidates aimed to project an image of trustworthiness and competence, but each used different techniques to achieve it. Muhaimin Iskandar focused on experience and continuity, Gibran on pragmatism and youth appeal, and Mahfud on intellectual authority and good governance. The choice of language was crucial to their strategies. Muhaimin Iskandar's populism resonated with rural voters, while Gibran's modern vocabulary appealed to the urban youth. Mahfud's academic tone established him as a knowledgeable figure.

Abstract

This qualitative study explores the role of cultural expressions, specifically figurative language in the Cia-Cia language, used by parents to educate their children in Wabula District, Buton Regency. The study aims to identify (1) the types of figurative expressions embedded in daily parent-child communication and (2) their influence on children's cognitive development. Data were gathered through naturalistic observation and semi-structured interviews with four parents who frequently use Cia-Cia in household interactions. The findings reveal that similes, hyperboles, idioms, and personifications are commonly used—often unconsciously—to communicate values, emotions, and abstract concepts. These figurative expressions not only enrich the children’s linguistic input but also facilitate imagination, critical thinking, and the internalization of cultural norms. The study highlights the educational potential of local language expressions in fostering both cognitive growth and cultural identity. Increasing parental awareness of the pedagogical power of figurative language could enhance intentional teaching practices within local cultural contexts

Abstract

Karakteristik arsitektur Buton yang berbentuk susunan atap Malige dan miniatur Naga dan Nenas yang ditampilkan pertama kali pada kediaman resmi Sultan Buton memiliki makna filosofis yang mencerminkan karakter dan peradaban masyarakat Buton. Karena itu, kegiatan penyusunan Naskah Akademis Rancangan Peraturan Daerah sebagai sarana yang melegitimasi pemerintah Kota Baubau mewajibkan setiap pemilik bangunan gedung menampilkan karakteristik arsitektur Buton menjadi relevan untuk memelihara dan melestarikan karakteristik arsitektur Buton. Tujuan diadakannya kegiatan penyusunan Naskah Akademik Rancangan Peraturan Daerah tentang Penyelenggaraan Bangunan Gedung agar karakteristik arsitektur Buton mendapatkan pengakuan secara hukum sehingga pemilik bangunan gedung wajib menampilkan karakteristik arsitektur Buton. Pendekatan yang digunakan dalam kegiatan ini adalah pendekatan perundang-undangan yakni mengkaji peraturan perundang-undangan yang terkait dengan bangunan gedung. Hasil kegiatan menunjukan bahwa sangat dibutuhkan peraturan daerah sebagai dasar bagi pemerintah Kota Baubau mewajibkan kepada pemilik bangunan gedung menampilkan karakteristik Buton. Selain itu, memampilkan karakteristik Buton pada setiap bangunan gedung membangkitkan kepedulian masyarakat Buton terhadap karya-karya leluhurnya yang sangat bernilai tinggi dan monumental sebagai manifestasi dari karakter masyarakat Buton dan peradabannya.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan sinonim yang terdapat dalam Bahasa Wakatobi, yang meliputi: bentuk-bentuk sinonim, jenis sinonim, dan penggunaannya dalam Bahasa Wakatobi. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan dalam tiga tahap, yaitu wawancara, observasi, dan dokumentasi yang mana peneliti berinteraksi langsung dengan masyarakat setempat, bahan data berupa kata-kata yang sering digunakan dalam aktivitas sehari-hari. Tekni analisis data dilakukan melalui reduksi data, penyajian data, penarikan kesimpulan dan verifikasi. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan morfosintaksis dengan menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa terdapat empat bentuk sinonim dan dua jenis sinonim dalam Bahasa Wakatobi. Empat bentuk sinonim tersebut, yakni: kata benda, kata kerja, kata sifat, dan kata keterangan. Sedangkan, dua jenis sinonim yang terdapat dalam Bahasa Wakatobi yaitu absolute sinonim and near sinonim. Hasil analisis data menunjukan bahwa bentuk-bentuk sinonim dalam Bahasa Wakatobi di dominasi oleh kata benda dan kata kerja. Sedangkan, jenis sinonimnya lebih banyak ditemukan pada kata sifat dan kata keterangan.
