Abstract

Pulp infection is capable of causing pulpitis, an inflammatory condition. Tiwai onion is known for its antibacterial properties. Compare the antibacterial activity of tiwai onion (Eleutherine palmifolia (L.) Merr) extract using ethyl acetate and ethanol solvents against Enterococcus faecalis bacteria causing root canal infection. Onion tiwai extract was prepared by maceration method using ethyl acetate and ethanol solvents. Activity test was determined by liquid and solid dilution method. In liquid dilution, there was no bacterial growth in ethyl acetate and ethanol extracts with a concentration of 20mg/ml. In the solid dilution test, the extract with ethyl acetate solvent showed a value of 20mg/ml, which means bactericidal. However, the ethanol solvent extract showed bacterial growth at a concentration of 20mg/ml, meaning it was not bactericidal. Onion tiwai  extracts with ethyl acetate and ethanol solvents showed different antibacterial activities against Enterococcus faecalis. Only extracts with ethyl acetate solvent showed bactericidal properties Keywords:          Eleutherine palmifolia (L) Merr, Enterococcus faecalis, ethanol, ethyl acetate, Pulpitis   Abstrak Infeksi pulpa mampu menyebabkan pulpitis, suatu kondisi peradangan.

Abstract

Mandibular fracture is one of the fractures in the facial area and is most often caused by trauma. A hard impact to the face can result in a fracture of the mandible. This research aims to investigate the distribution of mandibular fracture based on age, gender, etiology, and fracture region at Abdoel Wahab Sjahranie Hospital Samarinda from 2019 to 2023. This research is quantitative research using descriptive observational research design. The results of this research showed that adolescent age from 12 to 25 years old was the age group in which mandibular fracture cases were found the most, with 34 cases (54%) in this research were from that age group. In terms of gender, mandibular fracture cases were found more in male samples, with 52 cases (82.5%) were male. Traffic accident was the most common etiology of mandibular fractures found, comprising of 47 cases (74.6%) from the total number of cases in this research. The most common fracture region found in this research was the parasymphysis region, with 13 cases (20.6%) in this research had parasymphyseal fracture.   Keywords:          Distribution, Mandibular Fracture, Mandibular Fracture Region

Abstract

Since one-third of children who snore consistently may have OSAS, understanding the causes is vital. Preventing snoring requires addressing obesity, allergies, and anatomical anomalies. Indoor allergens and enlarged tonsils and adenoids may also cause youngsters to snore. The review aims to identify and categorize key concepts, types of evidence, and research gaps in this area.  The scoping review will follow the methodology and stages outlined by the Joana Briggs Institute ((JBI). The final output will follow the PRISMA-Protocols (PRISMA-P) 2015 checklist. This review serves as a necessary step before conducting a systematic review and clinical studies. Childhood snoring is a common problem that can have adverse effects on a child’s health and well-being. It is importing ant for parents to understand the hazards of snoring and seek support if they suspect their child may have a sleep disorder. Treatment options vary depending on the cause and severity of snoring, and may include lifestyle changes, medication, or surgery. More research is need to better understand the relationship between environmental factors and snoring children, including the impact of pollutant such as NO2 and passive smoking. Early detection and treatment of snoring in children is crucial, as if can have long-term effects on their health and well-being. The conclusion is that knowledge empowers parents to take the necessary steps to ensure the well-being and healthy sleep of their children.

Abstract

Abstract As one of the nine urgently needed, consumption of cooking oil increased from year to year. In 2021 the demand for cooking oil in Indonesia was higher than the supply, resulting in a fairly high price increase. The government is trying to anticipate this by setting HET but instead it creates a shortage of products so that this policy is revoked except for bulk cooking oil. This makes cooking oil producers prefer to sell their products in packaging so that the selling price is higher. As a result, consumers face the choice of having to queue for hours to get bulk cooking oil or spend more money to buy packaged cooking oil whose price is quite large. The purpose of this study is to answer the problem formulation (1) How do packaging, price, size, clarity, color, nutritional information, promotion, brand, and accessibility become the basis for consumers to buy cooking oil? (2) How can the order of packaging, price, size, clarity, color, nutritional information, promotion, brand, and accessibility become the basis for consumers to buy cooking oil? (3) What is the most dominant attribute in buying cooking oil? and (4) Based on the attributes of packaging, price, size, clarity, color, nutritional information, promotion, brand, and accessibility, consumers are more dominant in choosing bulk or packaged cooking oil. The method used is descriptive qualitative through in-depth interviews with 3 informants. The results show that price is the most dominant attribute in buying cooking oil preferences. The order of these attributes is different for each informant, but the most dominant attribute is the same price. Based on the analysis of each attribute, consumer preference is higher for bulk cooking oil because the price is cheaper.
