Abstract

This research was conducted to analyze muzakki's determination in paying professional zakat through the National Zakat Amil Agency (BAZNAS). The variables used refer to the Theory of Planned Behavior including Subjective Norm, Perceived Behavioral Control and Attitude then added with external variables namely Digitalization of Zakat which is one of the strategies to increase zakat receipts from BAZNAS and Religiosity where the Attitude variable is a mediating variable. The case study was conducted on professional zakat payments in DKI Jakarta Province. The study was conducted on employees from various institutions in the DKI Jakarta area using purposive sampling and obtained a total of 151 respondents. The data analysis technique uses the SEM-PLS method which aims to see the relationship between variables. Based on the results of the analysis using the SEM-PLS method, the first result was that digitalization of zakat and religiosity had a significant and positive effect on muzakki's intention to pay zakat income, while subjective norms and perceived behavioral control had no effect. Second, subjective norms, digitalization of zakat, and religiosity have a significant and positive effect on attitude, while perceived behavioral control has no effect. Third, attitude mediates the influence of subjective norms, digitalization of zakat, and religiosity on muzakki's intention to pay zakat on income, while regarding perceived behavioral control, attitude does not play a mediating role. This shows that attitude is one of the most important factors for individuals in paying zakat through BAZNAS.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the influence of macroeconomic factors on price movements in Pegadaian gold accounts, analyze the factors that BPKH must put into consideration when investing in gold, and analyze the better gold instrument that are more recommended for BPKH between gold bullion and gold accounts. The influence of macroeconomic factors’ analysis on the price movement of Pegadaian gold accounts was carried out using a multiple linear regression method with five independent variables, namely international gold prices, inflation rate, rupiah exchange rate against USD, interest rate, economic growth rate, and one dependent variable, namely price Pegadaian gold account. Meanwhile, analysis of the factors that BPKH must pay attention to when investing in gold and gold instruments is carried out using the ANP (Analytic Network Process) qualitative method. Multiple linear regression analysis shows that the international gold price, exchange rate, inflation rate, and economic growth rate have a significant effect on the price of Pegadaian gold accounts. Meanwhile, the interest rate does not have a significant effect on the price of Pegadaian gold accounts. The variables of international gold prices and the Rupiah exchange rate against USD have a positive correlation, while the variables of inflation rate, reference interest rate and economic growth rate have a negative correlation with the price of Pegadaian gold accounts. The results of ANP data processing confirm the results of multiple linear regression analysis, stating that international gold prices, the Rupiah exchange rate against USD, and the inflation rate are the three main macroeconomic factors that influence gold price movements. The results of the ANP questionnaire processing also state that BPKH needs to pay attention to several factors in investing in gold, namely macroeconomic factors, risk factors and sharia compliance factors. As many as 90% of respondents to the ANP questionnaire recommended Pegadaian gold accounts as a better investment instrument for BPKH considering the mitigation of operational risk and is considered more liquid, referring to Pegadaian buyback policy. Meanwhile, 10% of respondents to the ANP questionnaire preferred gold bullion instruments with clearer sharia contract considerations. In order to diversify as well as to maintain asset value when unstable economic conditions occur, BPKH should increase the gold investment portfolio with maximum limit is 5% of the total investment and/or bank placement of hajj fund. When investing in gold, BPKH should pay attention to the movements in macroeconomic factors, namely international gold prices, exchange rates, inflation rate and economic growth rates. BPKH must also pay attention to risk factors and sharia comply of the gold instrument. Apart from the efforts to increase the financial benefits of hajj fund through optimizing gold investment, the percentage of cost paid by pilgrims also plays an important role in supporting the sustainability of hajj fund. In this case, the the percentage of cost paid by pilgrims should be adjusted rationally. Total hajj cost is also a crucial aspect, especially in the main components such as flight costs, hotels and catering. The efficiency of these components can be strived by collaborating with airlines or aviation fuel providers, purchasing hotels/ apartments in Mecca and/or Medina, and establishing catering factories for Indonesian hajj pilgrims. The initiation of these investment can be explored conjointly with the Ministry of Religion as the organizer of Indonesian Hajj pilgrimage.

Abstract

Jakarta, the capital and most densely populated region of Indonesia, continues to struggle with urban poverty despite consistent economic growth. Factors such as high migration, limited employment opportunities, and unequal access to education and social services have deepened socio-economic inequality. This study investigates the key drivers of poverty in DKI Jakarta from 2012 to 2022, incorporating insights from Islamic economics. Utilizing time-series data and the Error Correction Model (ECM), the research explores both short-term and long-term impacts of education, Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP), zakat, and waqf on poverty levels. Findings reveal that all variables significantly affect poverty in the long run, while GRDP shows no notable short-term influence. Education and waqf are positively correlated with poverty over time, indicating that structural issues—such as low labor absorption and inefficient waqf management—limit their effectiveness in reducing poverty. In contrast, zakat demonstrates a strong negative relationship with poverty, highlighting its role as a powerful redistributive tool in Islamic economics. The study emphasizes the importance of inclusive education and economic policies, alongside better governance of zakat and waqf through formal institutions like BAZNAS, to improve transparency, optimize resource use, and support sustainable poverty reduction in Jakarta.

Abstract

This study explores the influence of social media and digital influencers on household decision-making in selecting travel destinations, focusing on the mediating role of family perception. Using a quantitative approach, data were collected from 400 respondents through purposive sampling and analyzed with Partial Least Squares-Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM). A structured questionnaire with a 1–5 Likert scale measured the impact of social media, digital influencers, family perception, and household decision-making. The findings reveal that social media does not significantly influence household decision-making, either directly or indirectly through family perception. Conversely, digital influencers have a notable impact, with family perception serving as a strong mediator. At a microeconomic level, credible content from influencers influences internal family discussions, while at a macroeconomic level, influencer collaborations enhance destination promotion, visibility, and local economic growth. This study offers insights into the strategic use of digital influencers for tourism promotion in West Java, providing valuable recommendations for local governments and tourism stakeholders to align marketing efforts with community preferences. The findings contribute to understanding the interplay between digital influencers, family perceptions, and household decisions, with implications for both tourism management and economic development.

Abstract

This community service activity was conducted to assist the Azalea SME Group in overcoming marketing limitations due to a low understanding of digital marketing. The objective of this activity was to enhance the participants' capacity to utilize digital media, particularly TikTok, as a marketing platform to expand market reach and increase product sales. The method used was a combination of theoretical outreach and practical training. The outreach provided basic understanding of digital marketing and the potential of TikTok as a marketing medium. The practical training covered the creation of engaging video content, the use of TikTok Ads features, and the simulation of product promotion. The evaluation of the training results was carried out through group discussions, feedback, and analysis of the video content produced by the participants. The results of the activity showed significant improvements in various aspects. Before the training, only 20% of participants understood digital marketing, but this increased to 90% after the training. The skill of creating video content increased from 10% to 85%, while the appeal of products delivered through social media rose from 15% to 75%. Additionally, the participants' interaction with consumers through social media improved from 10% to 70%. Overall, the activity demonstrated success in strengthening participants' capacity to innovate and expand marketing reach. The sustainability of the training results can be supported through follow-up training, regular mentoring, and collaboration with educational institutions and professional organizations. With this strategy, it is hoped that the Azalea SME Group can maintain the achieved success, expand business networks, and continue to grow into a competitive and high-performing business group.

Abstract

In this research, a liability-driven investment strategy is determined which aims to optimize hajj financial management using the Analytic Network Process approach. Based on the results of Benefit, Opportunity, Cost and Risk (BOCR) approach, it shows that in a liability-driven investment strategy, the benefit (excess) and risk components are the most important factors that investors pay attention to. In determining alternative liability-based investment strategies, there are 2 (two) approaches, either by carrying out portfolio immunization (duration matching) or cash flow matching (cash-flow matching). From these two strategies, it was found that the portfolio immunization strategy was the most suitable strategy to be implemented at BPKH in terms of the return and risk dimensions. Then the strategy is implemented through a portfolio-mix combinations between hedging portfolios and growth portfolios (return generating portfolios), and the most appropriate composition based on the dimensions of returns and risks is the hedging portfolio whose magnitude is above the growth portfolio. It can be said that BPKH can carry out a liability-driven investment strategy through a portfolio immunization strategy that contains a hedging portfolio (such as SBSN and corporate sukuk) that is larger than the growth portfolio (such as KIK EBAS, EBAS-SP, KIK DINFRA, KIK DIRE, Limited Investment Mutual Funds, and Direct Investment and Others). Originality/Value: The novelty of this study is analysing the hajj fund by BPKH in a deeper and specific extent by displaying future liability data.

Abstract

Indonesia's external public debt continues to grow with a ratio of 30.1% of GDP. In the first quarter of 2023, Indonesia's external public debt reached 199.4 billion US dollars or equivalent to 3000 trillion rupiahs. This condition makes Indonesia a debtor country that depend on international creditor countries or institutions. In addition, state sukuk as an alternative to state financing with sharia guidelines also continues to grow, but its performance cannot be equal to external public debt as one of the pillars of Indonesia's economic growth. Therefore, this study is present to analyse the effect of government external public debt paired with state sukuk as an Islamic fiscal variable on Indonesia's economic growth. Moreover, this study also analyses the factors that influence the growth of Indonesia's external public debt. The sample used to analyse the effect of government external public debt and state sukuk on Indonesia's economic growth was taken from the first quarter of 2010 to the first quarter of 2023. This study uses Autoregressive Distributed Lag (ARDL) to find empirical finding of the model. The results of this study indicate that the external public debt variable in the long term has a significant negative effect on economic growth while the state sukuk variable in the long term has no effect on economic growth.
