Abstract

Water is a basic need for human activities, especially for daily needs. Currently, there are still households on the coast of North Jakarta that rely on non-piped water as a source of clean water; even households with toddlers rely on unfit water sources due to economic conditions. It is difficult to access clean and expensive water, so they use groundwater, which is detrimental to the environment and causes land subsidence, or buys expensive and unaffordable water. Coupled with poor environmental sanitation conditions come from shellfish waste and household waste. Rainwater harvesting can be a solution for fisher’s settlements as a clean water source. This study aims to increase water accessibility in coastal settlements with the potential that exists in the surrounding environment. The study used a direct survey and experiment on RWH (Rainwater Harvesting) with a survey sample of 266 respondents. The results show that most coastal communities rely on more than one water source. After direct experimentation, the community accepts rainwater as an alternative to clean water, reducing the cost of public spending for clean water. Tests on reliable water quality and rainwater from rainwater harvesting systems showed that E.Coli still contained. Water quality and distribution are influenced by many factors, such as politics and applicable government regulations. Further research is needed on other water supply methods in coastal settlements.

Abstract

Pada RIPPARPROV Riau 2021-2030, Kota Pekanbaru termasuk ke dalam Rencana Perwilayahan Pariwisata Provinsi Riau dan ditetapkan sebagai Kawasan Pengembangan Pariwisata Provinsi (KPPP). KPPP Pekanbaru menetapkan 3 kawasan Desa Wisata yaitu Desa Wisata Alam Buluh Cina, Kampung wisata Tebing Tinggi Okura dan Kampung Wisata Bandar. Desa Wisata merupakan salah satu bentuk pembangunan berkelanjutan melalui promosi produktivitas pedesaan yang dapat menciptakan pekerjaan, distribusi pendapatan, pelestarian lingkungan dan budaya lokal, meningkatkan partisipasi masyarakat, menghargai keyakinan dan nilai-nilai tradisional. Perubahan menjadi desa wisata tentunya mempengaruhi perubahan penggunaan lahan dan ekonomi masyarakat. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mempelajari dampak atas keberadaan desa wisata di Wilayah KPPP Provinsi Riau terhadap penggunaan lahan dan ekonomi masyarakat setempat. Metode yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah pendekatan deskriptif dan analisis spasial. Teknik analisis spasial yaitu digunakan untuk menganalisis kondisi eksisting penggunaan lahan desa wisata dengan mencari data berupa peta citra dari Google Earth, kemudian dilakukan pendigitasian guna lahan menggunakan software ArcGIS. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya dampak desa wisata terhadap guna lahan dan ekonomi masyarakat. Dampak yang terjadi pada perubahan guna lahan dapat dilihat pada peningkatan jumlah jenis lahan perdagangan dan jasa demi menunjang keberlangsungan desa wisata dan peningkatan ekonomi dilihat dari bertambahnya lapangan pekerjaan baru dan peningkatan pendapatan masyarakat setempat.

Abstract

Water is critical for long-term socioeconomic growth. Rainfall is one of the water sources.. Many factors contribute to disparities of rainfall patterns in Indonesia. The study aims to detect and map the implication of clustering annual rainfall patterns in each province in Indonesia using the annual provincial rainfall data 2011 to 2015. K Means Clustering using an unsupervised learning technique was applied for rainfall events by employing rainfall measurement data from one of Indonesia's rain stations in each province. The clustering results indicate that the two provinces in cluster I have very low water availability, cluster II has moderate rainfall with rainy days under 200 days, i.e. wet months of seven months, and cluster III has a very wide variation in maximum and minimal rainfall. The results demonstrate the trend of locations vulnerable to water availability in the provinces of Central and West Sulawesi. Rainfall should be managed as a potential water source in face of the extreme dry season, particularly in three provinces in cluster III: South Sumatra, Papua, and Maluku. Rainfall clustering in Indonesia is expected to be used as a dataframe, as well as a preliminary analysis to reinforce local rainfall, as well as basis for managing and exploiting rainfall, as well as planning mitigation and adaptation to climate change in Indonesia.

Abstract

The existence of oil and gas mines in a region generally has both positive and negative impacts on the area. One of the oil and gas mines in East Java Province is located in Tuban Regency, specifically in the districts of Soko and Rengel, which have been operating for twenty-five years. The existence of the oil and gas mine is believed to affect various aspects. This study aims to identify the influence of the presence of oil and gas mining in the districts of Soko and Rengel based on the perceptions of the community. The method used in this study is a quantitative method with scoring analysis obtained from primary data in the form of a questionnaire from 99 respondents. The community assesses that the presence of oil and gas mining moderately affects the physical aspect, the environment, the health of the community, and the social aspect. On the other hand, the presence of oil and gas mining is not considered to have an impact on the economic aspect. This research contributes by providing a perspective that the presence of oil and gas mining in the districts of Soko and Rengel, Tuban Regency, is considered to have limited positive influence on the surrounding community.

Abstract

Surabaya is a city consists of several urban kampongs. In order to design an inclusive city and strengthen its identity, the morphology of the urban kampongs in the Surabaya context needs to be examined. Kampung Gembong is one of the urban kampongs located at Kapasan Area in the central area of Surabaya. This kampong has a complex settlement structure due to its contiguity with the nearby commercial area. This study would like to identify the settlement typology and morphology in Kampung Gembong. This study utilized diachronic reading and typo morphology analysis to identify the typology and morphology of the study area. Study results show that Kampung Gembong could be categorized as a bagging pattern settlement, with a mixture of open-linear pattern. The perimeter area of Kampung Gembong is characterized as trade and service (commercial) area. This research also may identify the socio-economic relationships with the characteristics of the perimeter area, which could be observed through the main occupation of the majority of its populations.

Abstract

Urbanization defines as a spatial and socio-economic transformation process from rural to urban areas. While urban sprawl is the process of propagation of the appearance of urban physical characteristics from the inner city toward the urban fringe area. Pekalongan City has grown from a small town to a medium-sized city with a population of 300,000 people. This study aims to identify the phenomenon of urban sprawl in Pekalongan City and its surroundings (Pekalongan and Batang Regency) and identify the urban environment quality based on the condition of the public services availability in these urban areas. The data used in this study were the 2019 Village Potential (PODES) from the Central Agency on Statistics (BPS) and a digital base map from the Geospatial Information Agency (BIG). The urban-rural classification scoring from the BPS was used to identify urban areas as the method in this study. The results showed that 111 out of 285 villages in Pekalongan Regency and 63 out of 248 villages in Batang Regency could already be classified as urban areas and formed an urban agglomeration with Pekalongan City. This study also showed that the environmental quality in urban areas with urban sprawl phenomenon has met the standards and criteria for urban public services compared to other areas.

Abstract

Congestion has become part of the characteristics of a particular urban center area due to its routine occurrence, especially at peak times as commonly known as going to office, returning from work, going to school, going to school, weekends and holidays. The occurrence of congestion is as a result of an imbalance in the existing traffic network, namely the buildup of vehicles which causes the traffic density on a certain road network to become high so that the traffic flow becomes stagnant and even stops. The paradigm of big cities in the world in overcoming congestion problems has begun to shift from the old way which is only seen from the provision of network systems to innovative strategies through the application of concepts that prioritize integration between land use and transportation. One of the concepts applied in big cities in the world is Transit Oriented Development (TOD). TOD is a concept that at its inception was a reaction to the phenomenon of urban sprawl in America followed by the high dependence of the population on the use of roads and private vehicles (automobiles). One of the efforts to balance the traffic network so that traffic flow becomes optimal is through the spread of routes in certain areas and the provision of integrated modes of transportation to support community needs based on destination. The DKI Jakarta Government has built various modes of transportation starting from Transjakarta, Commuter Line Trains, Jak Lingko Angkot, City Buses Etc. SMKN 5 Jakarta, Matraman, East Jakarta is one of the many locations that have access to quite a complete mode of transportation, both from Angkot Mikrotrans, Transjakarta Buses, and Commuter Line Trains. This research aims to provide education about Transit oriented development as a solution to overcome the problems of the capital, namely traffic jams and to assist in supporting daily activities.
