Abstract

While formal vocational training is widely explored, the learning mechanisms and Socio-economic impacts of traditional apprenticeships in urban informal vocational communities remain underexplored. This qualitative case study analyses traditional apprenticeship learning patterns and their Socio-economic impacts within a car repair community in Brotojoyo, Semarang. Data were collected from nine participants three experts, three apprentices, and three community leaders via in-depth interviews, observation, and documentation, and then analyzed using the Miles and Huberman interactive model. Findings reveal that the apprenticeship progresses gradually from observation and guided practice to full independence through specific episodes, including negotiation, unloading, workmanship, installation, and finishing. Ultimately, these structured yet informal learning phases significantly enhance apprentices' technical skills and economic welfare, while fostering social solidarity grounded in local wisdom values such as discipline, trust, mutual help, patience, and work responsibility. Theoretically, this study integrates traditional apprenticeship patterns with contextual learning theory. In practice, it offers an alternative, localized model for community empowerment to reduce unemployment and strengthen social capital.

Abstract

This study aims to examine comprehensively the effectiveness of Liveworksheet-based electronic student worksheets (E-LKPD) in enhancing students' critical thinking skills in elementary science education. The research employed a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) method with a descriptive qualitative approach, following the PRISMA framework, which includes identification, screening, eligibility, and inclusion stages. Data were collected through a systematic search of scholarly articles in major academic databases, namely Google Scholar, focusing on publications from 2022 to 2025. A total of 18 articles that met the inclusion criteria were selected and analyzed using thematic and comparative synthesis techniques. The findings indicate that Liveworksheet-based E-LKPD is effective in improving students' critical thinking skills, particularly in the areas of analysis, evaluation, and problem-solving. In addition, the integration of interactive features such as multimedia elements, automated quizzes, and immediate feedback has been shown to enhance students' learning engagement. The study also reveals that increased student engagement encourages more active participation in higher-order thinking processes, while success in critical thinking tasks contributes to strengthening students' intrinsic drive to learn. Therefore, Liveworksheet-based E-LKPD can be considered an innovative and effective digital instructional tool to support elementary science learning. The implications of this study highlight the importance of HOTS-oriented instructional design and the integration of digital technology to improve the quality of 21st-century education.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model assisted by ChatGPT on students’ cognitive learning outcomes in IPAS learning at SD Negeri 184/III Pauh Tinggi. This research employed a quantitative approach using a quasi-experimental method with a nonequivalent control group design. The population consisted of 146 students, with class V A as the control group (16 students) and class V B as the experimental group (19 students), selected using purposive sampling technique. The research instrument was a cognitive learning outcome test that had been validated and tested for reliability. Data analysis was conducted through normality and homogeneity tests, followed by hypothesis testing using an independent sample t-test. The results showed a significant difference in cognitive learning outcomes between the experimental and control groups, with a significance value of less than 0.05. The average posttest score of the experimental group was higher than that of the control group. Therefore, it can be concluded that the Problem Based Learning model assisted by ChatGPT has a significant effect on improving students’ cognitive learning outcomes. This model is effective in creating active, interactive, and meaningful learning.
