Abstract

Purpose. The purpose of this study is to obtain a description of the collaboration carried out by students participating in Library Internship Programs with the institutions where they undergo their internships. Methodology. Using an online questionnaire as the instrument distributed to students participating in internships, responses were received from students from 127 provinces in Indonesia. Results and discussion. The information gathered indicates that library internship activities already reflect a diversity of interests, competencies, and objectives as part of the library internship experience. There is alignment between the activities carried out and various aspects of library management, collection development, and the complexity of seeking career opportunities in the library field. Conclusions. An analysis of the collaboration strategy between students and practical institutions in determining the type of library practice reveals several important aspects. Students must have a clear understanding of the learning objectives and library practice requirements through constructive dialogue with the practical institution. They also need to build a professional network and participate in activities that broaden their understanding of various types of practices. However, the lack of variety in the scope of practices suggests the need for guidance or alignment activities before the practical placement is carried out, allowing students to choose a practice type that aligns with their mentor's educational background.

Abstract

Background of Study:Librarian attitudes significantly influence user satisfaction and engagement in library services. Positive interaction between librarians and users fosters a welcoming environment and enhances service effectiveness. Aims and Scope of Paper:This research aims to explore both the attitudes of librarians in providing services and users’ perceptions of those attitudes at the Tangerang Regency Library and Archives Office. Methods:A qualitative descriptive approach was employed. Data were collected through observation and interviews with three library users selected via purposive sampling. The data analysis followed three steps: data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. Result:Findings indicate that the average number of visitors to the Tangerang Regency Library and Archives Office from 2022 to 2023 was approximately 136,270. Users generally perceive librarians as friendly and kind. However, users often need to initiate interaction before receiving assistance, indicating a lack of proactive service. This shows that while the overall demeanor of librarians is positive, there remains a gap in attentiveness and sensitivity to user needs. Conclusion:Although librarians are perceived positively in terms of friendliness, service delivery can be improved by fostering a more proactive and responsive approach to user needs. These findings highlight the importance of continuous professional development for librarians to enhance user experience.

Abstract

Financial literacy is a crucial competence in strengthening family financial planning and investment awareness. This community service program, Ngobrol Pintar (NGOPI), was initiated by Universitas Terbuka Medan in collaboration with Dharma Wanita Persatuan to address the need for accessible financial education in society. The program was implemented through an interactive seminar with 117 participants consisting of parents and children. The dialogue-based approach focused on gold investment as a practical entry point for understanding financial literacy. The seminar achieved active engagement from participants and increased awareness of financial management within the family context. Participants reported improved understanding of saving and investing practices, particularly related to gold as a long-term investment instrument. The findings indicate that financial literacy training through dialogue can effectively empower communities. Beyond a one-time session, the NGOPI initiative promotes sustainability by developing community-based financial literacy hubs, producing digital learning resources, and establishing partnerships with financial institutions and regulatory bodies. This approach positions financial literacy as an ongoing dialogue to build a culture of investment awareness and foster long-term financial resilience.

Abstract
