Abstract

Temboro, Magetan, is a unique village widely known as Kampung Madinah. The nickname comes from the Islamic tradition embedded in villagers’ everyday lives, associated with Medina, the Propeth’s city. Further observations show that their Islamic tradition is distinctive, primarily referring to the community’s affiliation with the transnational Tablighi Jama’at movement. This fact implies that the community has its worldviews, moral values, and lifestyle, which puts them into a sub-cultural community category. This research examines the socio-historical aspect of Kampung Madinah Temboro as Tablighi Jama’at Sub-Cultural Community between 1984 and 2009. Therefore, we employ historical inquiries and social approaches as methods. We discover that: 1) Pesantren al-Fatah and Markaz Temboro play their central roles in forming Kampung Madinah as a subcultural community based on the Tablighi Jama’at ideology; 2) The subcultural indicators appear in how they dress, how they interact, symbols in the environment, the values they hold, and the integration of the Tablighi Jama’at ideology into people’s daily activities; and 3) Both the Pesantren al-Fatah and the Tablighi Jama’at Markaz networks increase the probability of similar subcultural community emerging elsewhere.

Abstract

This studyaims to examine the effect of archival-based content types on Instagram engagement in an archival institution in Indonesia. This is quantitative study. Data were obtained from the Instagram log content included like and comment number, within February 2023 to July 2023. There were 63 contents in that period. The contents were categorized into five categories: (A) greeting to followers; (B) archival material; (C) daily news; (D) promoting the services; and (E) archival knowledge. One-way analysis of variance (ANOVA) was employed to analyze the data. The results revealed that there was a significant difference on “likes” mean score among the content types. On the other hand, content types had no significant effect on “comments” mean score. Implementation of principles of social media optimization is suggested to enhance the Instagram engagement. This study offers an intentional approach for archival institutions to enhance their engagement in social media.

Abstract

Online Learnings that were implemented during the Covid-19 pandemic invited pros and cons, especially on social media, that could be directly observed by the public. When analyzed properly, the pros and cons contain valuable information that the authorities can use to evaluate Online Learning policies. This study describes the narrative developed on social media Twitter related to Online Learning during the Covid-19 pandemic. This research includes the social network analysis (SNA) research with a descriptive qualitative approach. The platform used to collect data is Drone Emprit Academic (DEA), an SNA tool. The data analyzed relates to the number of tweets, influential actors, narrative sentiments, and robots that tweet the topic. This research does not contribute justification for right and wrong but attempts to present reliable data exposure. Based on Online Learning tweets collected on July 22-29, 2020, there were 2,903 tweets. The tweets are classified as organic because the influential actors come from personal accounts, not accounts of famous figures. Criticism of Online Learning administration is the dominant response because there is still an economic and digital divide among the public. The government needs to evaluate Online Learning policies and reconsider just education during the Covid-19 pandemic.

Abstract

Temboro Village in East Java, known as the "Medina Village" due to its Araban atmosphere, underwent a cultural transformation when the al-Fatah Temboro Islamic Boarding School shifted its preaching orientation from salafiyah-NU to salafiyah-Jamaah Tabligh in 1989. This transformation did not erase NU traditions but rather coexisted harmoniously with the culture brought by Jamaah Tabligh (JT). This study, utilizing a cultural anthropological approach and cultural resilience theory, along with historical research methods, highlights that the influence of JT's da'wah did not alter the identity of the Temboro people as Nahdliyin members. NU traditions continued to thrive, enriched in worship and social aspects. Several factors supported the persistence of NU traditions, including the kiai's background, Al-Fatah Islamic Boarding School's influence, and community support.

Abstract

Purpose – This study aims to analyse the implementation of traditional Islamic boarding school-based education at Al-Manar Muhammadiyah Modern Islamic Boarding School, South Sumatra. The background of this study is the need for a character education model that not only focuses on academic aspects but also on the moral and spiritual. development of students through a boarding school-specific approach Design/methods/approach – This study uses a qualitative approach with a case study approach, data collection techniques using observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation in the field for twelve months. Findings – The results of the study show that adab education at Al-Manar Islamic Boarding School is internalised through three main stages, namely value transformation, value transaction, and value transinternalisation. This process is reinforced by lectures, role modelling, practice and habituation, and a reward and punishment system, which collectively shape the religious, social, and personal character of the students. Supporting factors for the implementation of adab education include the exemplary behavior of the ustaz, a structured student development system, the involvement of all components of the pesantren, strict rules and regulations, and a conducive religious social environment. The study also found obstacles to implementation, such as low intrinsic motivation among students and the influence of global culture. Research implications/limitations – The implications of this study indicate that a tradition-based approach to education can be an alternative model for holistic character building. Originality/value – This study recommends strengthening reflective and participatory methods in the internalization of adab values, as well as the need to replicate this model in other Islamic educational institutions to address the challenges of character education for students in the era of globalization

Abstract

Selama pandemi Covid-19, website perpustakaan menjadi sistem informasi perpustakaan yang sangat penting karena memuat informasi terkini yang berkaitan dengan perpustakaan. Keterbatasan mobilitas pemustaka secara fisik untuk akses informasi dan layanan perpustakaan selama pandemi Covid-19 dapat diwakilkan melalui website. Pembiasaan ini masih berlangsung hingga era baru. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui kepuasan mahasiswa terhadap Website Perpustakaan UAD di era baru. Metode penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah kuantitatif dengan deskriptif analisis. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh mahasiswa aktif UAD. Sampel dalam penelitian berjumlah 60 responden yang terdiri 30 responden laki-laki dan 30 responden perempuan. Instrumen yang digunakan untuk mengumpulkan data menggunakan kuesioner online yang dibagi kepada mahasiswa aktif UAD yang pernah dan atau sedang mengakses Website Perpustakaan UAD saat Covid-19 hingga era baru. Evaluasi dalam penelitian ini menggunakan metode End User Computing Satisfaction (EUCS) dengan variabel content, accuracy, format, ease to use, timeliness yang terdiri dari 12 pertanyaan. Analisis data menggunakan Ms Excel dengan rumus mean dan grand mean. Empat dari lima variabel dalam kajian ini mendapatkan predikat memuaskan: accuracy (80,3%), format (80,3%), ease to use (80,5%), timeliness (79,3%). Sedangkan nilai tertinggi adalah variabel content dengan skor 82,9% dengan predikat sangat memuaskan. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa kepuasan pemustaka terhadap Website Perpustakaan UAD dengan variabel EUCS memiliki nilai rata-rata 80,65% dengan katagori memuaskan.
