Abstract

Learning style is a vital component in improving the quality of learning in physics classes. This study identified the learning styles of pharmacy students in learning physics based on Felder Silverman's Learning Style Index (ILS) through a survey of first-year students. ILS Felder Silverman determines the 4 dimensions of learning style preferences, namely processing (active-reflective), perception (sensing-intuitive), input (visual-verbal), and understanding (sequential-global). Questionnaires were distributed using Google Forms in more than three weeks. The collected data were analyzed descriptively quantitatively through the ILS scoring sheet. The results showed that the preference for Active, Sensing, Visual, and Sequential (ASViS) learning styles was owned by pharmacy students in learning physics. ASViS is dominant at a balanced level, successively: Active (39.27%), Sensing (31.94%), Visual (35.08%) and Sequential (44.50%). The implications of this study illustrate the learning of lecturers in physics classes who should apply various methods by actively involving students through experiments, project-based learning and discussions and occasionally reflect in explaining material. Also apply convergent and divergent learning

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the implementation and influence of character education based on local wisdom on strengthening the morals of elementary school students. This study used a quantitative approach with an ex-post facto method. The sample in this study was selected through a purposive sampling technique. The research instrument was a Likert scale questionnaire whose validity and reliability have been tested. Data analysis was conducted using descriptive statistical techniques. The results of the study indicate that character education integrated with local cultural values is effective in instilling moral values in students. The distribution of moral value instillation dimensions in Grades 4 and 5 shows relatively even results across the three indicators, each ranging from 32 percent to 34 percent. The distribution of local wisdom-based character dimensions in both grades also shows a balanced proportion across the five indicators, namely between 19 percent and 21 percent. The frequency distribution shows that character indicators including independence, nationalism, religiosity, mutual cooperation, and integrity, as well as moral dimensions including moral values, beliefs, and identity, contribute equally to the formation of student morality.

Abstract

Improved the quality of science education in elementary teacher training requires the development of instructional modules that are both contextual and culturally responsive. This study was conducted to design, implement, and evaluate a Project-Based Learning (PjBL) module integrated with ethnoscience to enhance the pedagogical competence of Elementary School Teacher Education students. Using a 4D development model (Define, Design, Develop, and Disseminate), the study included expert validation and user practicality testing. The module contextualized scientific content, particularly the concept of heat and temperature, using local cultural practices such as traditional palm sugar processing. Validation results indicated high feasibility scores in the didactic (94.00%), construction (96.00%), and visual aspects (98.33%) categories, while the practicality test produced an average score of 92.00%. Moreover, inferential insights from the evaluation revealed statistically significant improvements in learners' conceptual understanding (N-gain score of 0.80). The findings demonstrated that integrating ethnoscience into project-based modules not only deepened students’ comprehension of scientific principles but also fostered their ability to design meaningful, culturally relevant instruction. This research offers a valuable contribution to teacher education by presenting a validated instructional model that bridges scientific theory and local wisdom, promoting contextualized and engaging science learning. The module provides a scalable framework for future research and application across diverse educational and cultural settings.

Abstract

The rapid expansion of digital technologies has transformed the way lifelong learning and e-learning are understood and practiced. This study undertakes a bibliometric analysis to trace the evolution of research on lifelong learning, technology, and e-learning from 2011 to 2024, offering a comprehensive view of the field’s intellectual and developmental trajectory. A total of 624 documents indexed in the Scopus database were analyzed using VOSviewer and Biblioshiny. The analysis included annual publication trends, leading source titles, influential authors, contributing countries, thematic keywords, and conceptual structures. Temporal mapping was employed to identify the main developmental phases of the field. The analysis reveals three distinct phases of publication growth. The first phase (2011–2015) centered on digital infrastructure and the early adoption of ICT in education. The second phase (2016–2019) saw increased attention to integrating e-learning platforms and developing lifelong learning competencies. The third phase (2020–2024) experienced a sharp surge in output, largely driven by educational shifts following the COVID-19 pandemic, as well as emerging discussions about artificial intelligence, digital transformation, and adaptive learning systems. An unexpected yet striking observation was the accelerated rise of AI-related research after 2021. Throughout these periods, enduring themes such as e-learning, lifelong learning, and digital competence remained central. At the same time, the diversity of authors, journals, and contributing countries underscored the field’s interdisciplinary and global character. This study highlights a structural shift from technology-centered approaches to learner-focused and adaptive pedagogies. Two major insights stand out. First, the COVID-19 pandemic catalyzed the rapid global expansion of research and investment in digital learning. Second, the growing prominence of artificial intelligence signals an emerging shift toward intelligent, personalized lifelong learning ecosystems. A notable limitation of this work is that, although the dataset extends to mid-2025, the core analysis focuses on publications from 2011 to 2024 because data for 2025 remain incomplete. The partial records from 2025 are therefore presented only as preliminary signals of developing research directions and should be interpreted with due caution. Keywords: lifelong learning, e-learning, digital competence, artificial intelligence, bibliometric analysis.
