Abstract

A building, especially a building and a residence, is an absolute primary physical facility for modern humans whose function is to provide a place for them to live and work. As time goes by, the need for housing has become one of the main needs in carrying out activities, so to support the movement of human activities, a building that meets the structural and comfort requirements is needed. The structural requirement in question is a strong building to withstand earthquake loads because in general Indonesia is on the ring of fire line from the composition of the area with a high enough earthquake risk so for planning the building must meet the requirements of a strong structure. The design of earthquake-resistant buildings is not only for tall buildings but also for simple buildings such as residential houses so that if an earthquake occurs, the building will still stand strong and the people who live in the house are still in a safe condition.

Abstract

Pekanbaru has experienced frequent flooding due to high rainfall intensity, exacerbated by the reduction of water infiltration areas, which have been converted into residential and commercial zones. Additionally, poor environmental awareness is evident from waste accumulation along roadsides, obstructing drainage systems and contributing to surface runoff. With limited available land and reduced natural infiltration capacity, biopore infiltration holes offer a viable solution for mitigating waterlogging. Biopores facilitate rainwater absorption through artificial infiltration, effectively reducing surface runoff during heavy rains. This study focuses on the socialization and implementation of biopore infiltration holes at SMK Bina Profesi Pekanbaru. The process involved awareness programs for students, emphasizing the environmental benefits and construction techniques of biopores. Observations of the surrounding environment were conducted to assess water infiltration conditions, followed by the preparation and installation of biopores. The initiative not only aimed to reduce flood risks and runoff but also addressed waste management by utilizing organic waste in the biopore holes. Decomposed organic matter is converted into compost, promoting sustainable waste recycling. The biopore program at SMK Bina Profesi successfully educated students on both environmental stewardship and practical techniques for managing water infiltration, contributing to improved local sustainability efforts

Abstract

Abstract

Abstract: Urban household food security is still constrained by limited land availability and a high dependence on external supply. A community service program conducted in Berkah Family Village Housing, Kubang Jaya Village, aims to enhance food self-sufficiency through vertical hydroponics, organic waste processing, and e-commerce–based digital marketing training. Using a Participatory Action Research (PAR) approach, the program increased hydroponic knowledge from 30% to 85%, assembly skills from 15% to 80%, plant maintenance understanding from 25% to 78%, and e-commerce skills from 0% to 75%. A single hydroponic tower produces 7.2–14 kg per cycle, with potential income ranging from IDR 435,000 (pakcoy) to IDR 1,400,000 (lettuce). Kale can be harvested continuously for more than one year every 7–10 days, yielding an average of 105 grams per plant and generating up to IDR 1,100,000 per harvest. Additionally, 20 households are able to process kitchen waste into liquid fertilizer. Overall, the program has proven effective in strengthening household food security and economic resilience while supporting the achievement of the SDGs. Abstract

The Batching Plant establishment project of PT. Waskita Beton Precast, Tbk is aimed to meet the needs of its own ready mix concrete to develop 2 km of Manado-Bitung Toll Road. The establishment of this batching plant was caused by the worry that demand for concrete need with a volume of 73,000 m³ was not fulfilled which has been planned for the period of 33 months (June 2016 to December 2018). This temporary project evaluation is needed for assessing the time of return on investment capital and the achievement evaluation using investment criteria. Investment evaluation used 3 (three) analytical techniques commonly used in Benefit-Cost Analysis (BCA), namely Net Present Value (NPV), Internal Rate of Return (IRR) and Cost-Benefit Ratio (BCR). The investment evaluation results showed that the decision criteria with NPV of Rp. 3,721,209,360.08, where NPV> 0, IRR of 107.82%, gave the value of IRR > 4.92% and with BCR of 1.054, gave the value of BCR> 1. All calculation results showed the value of the criteria that the Batching Plant Project of PT. Waskita Beton Precast, Tbk is eligible and makes a profit.
