<![CDATA[English competence is always needed in this globalization era. TOEFL test is always used due to measure students’ ability in understanding English spoken and written. Grade Point Average (GPA) and religious performance practice are suspected whether or not influence students English language competence. In this paper, religious practice and Grade Point Average (GPA) correlated to English language competence at the economic and business students’ faculty of Muhammadiyah University Palembang. Recent research demonstrated a positive correlation between religious practice and academic performance to English competence. Students’ religiosity was measured using Centrality of Religiosity Scale (CRS) ready-made questionnaire, while academic performance was measured by Grade Point Average (GPA) and TOEFL test was used to determine students’ English language competence. The statistical analysis revealed that there was no significant correlation between students’ religious performance to English language competence. Meanwhile, Grade Point Average showed positive correlation to English language competence.]]>

<![CDATA[This study aimed at investigating the reasons of Indonesia EFL learners in using morphologically- changed English words in writing and finding out the number of Morphologically Changed English Words tend to be used by Indonesian EFL learners at English study Program at FKIP UMP. The number of sample was 36 Indonesian EFL Learners at the third semester of English Study Program at FKIP UMP. This research was a descriptive study. The technique used for collecting the data was distributing questionnaire. The data was analyzed by using percentage analysis and explained descriptively. The results of this study showed that the majority of respondents had more than one reason for a predisposition using morphologically changed English Words in writing. What triggers the use of them was classified into 9 categories; Entertainment, Habit, Efficiency; Saving time and space, Simplification (Easeness), Esthetics, Narsistics, Self-Contentment, Uniqueness, and Trend/Environment. Self-contentment Reasoning is the most dominant reason that the respondents had. There were 1 sentence, 8 phrases, and 20 words tend to be changed morphologically by Indonesian EFL learners as language users. This research was hoped to give the contribution to sociolinguistic aspect that tries to investigate personal use of the language in society in written and it might be dealt with discourse analysis either. It also informed the language phonemenom happened among Indonesian EFL learners as language users and hoped to help other people understand the original language intention by EFL learners when writing such forms for avoiding misunderstanding. ]]>

<![CDATA[Vocabulary is the first step that must be memorize by learner in speaking English as a foreign language. There are two kinds of vocabulary learning strategies which are breadth vocabulary (recognition) and depth vocabulary (recall). In enhancing L2 vocabulary knowledge students need the awareness of learning strategies used. The active students use learning strategies can increase language skills, self confidence and learning motivation in learning activity process. Learning strategies instruct students to learn independently, responsibly, and actively. Thus, students tend to be more confident and motivated when applied learning strategies in the daily learning process. Besides, teacher ought to teach and motivate students to apply students’ some learning strategies accordingly. Finally after implementing learning strategies, students and teachers need to evaluate the progress students’ vocabulary regularly.]]>

<![CDATA[The technology of information and communication (ICT) has evolved in the sector of education. Many elements have dramatically changed exponentially over the past three decades. It can modify and simplify the development of learning activities. Thus, Google Classroom will provide a blended learning platform in the education aspect. Google Classroom provides various things simpler for teachers to conduct learning practices effectively and efficiently, not the expected learning just in class, but even outside the classroom. It is revolutionizing schooling, thus the combination of mixed-method learning is also needed by each school. The advent of blended is among the most significant outcomes of the revolution. Learning which incorporates the essence of face-to-face and ICT use is needed in the era of 4.0. This article discusses existing theories, and empirical evidence relating to the essence of blended learning and Google Classroom in ELT. This research is used to create teachers’ broad mind widely to the use of Google Classroom as the blended course in English Language Teaching.]]>

<![CDATA[This study attempts to inform definition of learning readiness, the principle of readiness, factors contributing to readiness to learn and how readiness affects learning. This study is theory-based research or library research.This study used secondary data. The technique used for collecting the data is literature study. This study concludes that the principles of readiness are not only affected by one’s physical development but also his/ her mental development since they are closely interrelated. Moreover, the suitability of the learning experiences that will be given or the existing (prior) experiences become crucial to result in learning readiness and simultaneously , and the adaptation process of basic readiness for certain activities is considered as a natural thing when it is in the formation period at the time of development .Factors contributing to readiness to learn are maturation ,Intelligence, and motivation and readiness can generate active self directed learner, improve learning outcome/achievements.grow responsibility in learning ,and influence students’ activeness in learning. ]]>

<![CDATA[The enthusiasm toward reading happens as a result of good reading attitude is known as the attitude of reading. Students' reading attitudes are strongly related to their ability to be achieved by practice. The purpose of this study was to find out the correlations between students’ attitude and perception of reading in intermediate reading class. The participants were twenty-three students in the second semester of English study program, University of Muhammadiyah Palembang. The sample was taken by using purposive sampling of the even semester class in the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education. Coefficient correlation was adopted in this study. It is also intended to see if there any significant correlation between reading habits and reading perception of intermediate reading class students. The data was acquired through the use of Elementary Reading Attitude Survey (ERAS) that was established by McKenna and Kear (1990) in order to measure students’ reading attitude. An informal interview was also conducted by the researcher to acquire additional information about students' perceptions to reading. The results of this study revealed that there is moderate correlation between students' attitudes and perceptions of reading with the correlation value are 0.48. Thus, students must keep practicing and improving reading comprehension.]]>

Types of changes that occur for example; the process of teaching, learning activities and office in offline or in other words work from home. The economic income also has decreased as well as the household economic income of residents in each region. The existence of Internet facilities can greatly assist all groups of society in facing the transition of change in carrying out every work activity, and schools that usually done at home. By utilizing the Internet and computers as technology in the use of social media which is facilitated by the internet therefore the public can continue to carry out economic activities online. As the existence of social media, the community still be able to carry out in buying and selling activities to get profit and improve the household economy. The example of social media that also can be used are; instagram, facebook, whats up, and e-mail. Thus, from the use of social media, it still can help family economy income to be existed during the Pandemic of Covid -19.]]>

All activities from the process of school, buying, and selling among the community are often carried out online or work from home. The economic income of the family, community, and government has also decreased. The existence of Internet facilities can greatly assist all people in carrying out economic activities to be able to survive during the pandemic. Even these activities are carried out online or still carried out at home. By utilizing social media that is facilitated by the internet, people can continue to carry out buying and selling activities to maintain economic income through online. Here are social media that can be used, namely; Instagram, Facebook, Whats up, and e-mail. <![CDATA[The English language is no doubt significant for communication in the international community. It may not be the most widely spoken language globally, but it is the official language in many countries. This paper aims to analyze why the English language plays a significant role in supporting economic growth and the factors that influence the use of the English language in the era of globalization. A function that helps people communicate promotes nation-to-nation development and builds relationships with other countries. The survey design used a survey, the type of survey used a descriptive survey, and the equipment used was student observation. The results show that the economy is becoming increasingly global, and more and more countries are turning to the English language for business reasons. In conclusion, the English language is a significant contributor to sustainable development, so those who do not speak the English language do not stand a chance.]]>

<![CDATA[Electronic media are used to hold teachers in contact, give lots of links interaction to students, and deliver educational content services. Online learning education can eventually become the primary way in supporting the educational enrichment process. Their much effort is being put into the work practices and communication for both students and teachers that focused on enhancing the effectiveness of the study. This study gives additional future development of online learning that must follow the progress of the Internet as the modern technologies. Furthermore, it also explains some advantages and disadvantages of implementing Electronic learning during long-distance learning. Institutions need to use digital information technology for learning and teaching. This study examines relevant literature and enhances academic education by evaluating some of the achievements made by different researchers in the e-learning context, in particular the strengths and weaknesses of electronic learning in higher education. Finally, this study gives suggestions for future learners and teachers that electronic learning can be used for distance learning based on the learning purpose. Further, electronic learning basically can be used to enhance learners’ academic information. On the other side, communication between learners and teachers during the learning process is limited.
