Abstract

The government is holding a School Child Immunization Month (BIAS) with the aim of protecting against diseases that can be prevented by immunization (PD3I) until school age. The background was when children enter elementary school age there was a decrease in the level of immunity obtained during immunization when infants. The research objective was a description of the BIAS program based on a systems approach (input, process and output) using a descriptive design. Data collection was carried out by means of in-depth interviews with a number of 3 (three) informants consisting of 1 (one) immunization program coordinator, 1 (one) head of surveillance and immunization section, and 1 (one) health information system employee. BIAS activity reports were reported in stages according to the data source (from the Puskesmas) to the District/City Health Office, then the District/City Health Office conducts analysis and interpretation of the data for the needs of the immunization program. The Surabaya City Health Office through the Health Information System (SIK) unit is the first door in the flow of data processing and analysis. The priority problem that needs to be resolved immediately was the availability of the School Children's Health Report Card, as a media for recording the results of health screening in school children in which there was an immunization variable. The health report card for school children was one of the media that can provide education about the health status of school children, in the development of changes to the schedule and types of immunization in the BIAS program, it was necessary to record and report the immunization status of school children in an orderly manner. Strong commitment across programs and across sectors in all lines of society so that the death rate from PD31 will decrease.

Abstract

Anemia is a condition of the body where the hemoglobin (Hb) level in the blood is lower than the normal value, resulting in pallor, weakness, fatigue, dizziness, lack of appetite, decreased fitness, decreased work ability, decreased immunity and impaired wound healing. Protein plays a role in the storage and transportation and absorption of iron. Inadequate protein intake can lead to disturbances in iron metabolism which can affect hemoglobin formation, causing anemia. Adolescent girls are one of the groups that are prone to anemia because adolescent girls experience the menstrual cycle every month. In addition, the condition will be even worse if a woman is married and pregnant, because pregnancy requires more iron for the growth and development of the fetus, which has an impact on infant mortality, abnormal births, low birth weight, and maternal mortality. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between protein consumption and hemoglobin levels in adolescent girls. This study used a cross-sectional design and was descriptive analytic. The results of this study showed about 52.7% of respondents had insufficient protein consumption and 60% were anemic. There is a relationship between protein consumption patterns and hemaglobin levels with the value of chi-square statistical test results obtained p value <0.05, namely 0.001.

Abstract

The coconut plant is a plant that has many benefits for human life. Every part of the coconut plant has great benefits for life, such as the trunk, roots, fruit, even the fruit or pistil of the coconut also provides many health benefits. Villagers use coconut pistil as a traditional medicine in the treatment of diarrhea. Traditional medicine can be obtained from plants that contain secondary metabolite compounds. Secondary metabolite compounds are active compounds found in plants to defend themselves from harmful environmental attacks. The purpose of this study is to identify secondary metabolite compounds present in coconut pistils. Identification of secondary metabolite compounds is carried out qualitatively, namely conducting phytochemical tests (phytochemical screening) in the laboratory. Phytochemical Screening is a simple and effective method. The results of this study indicate that coconut pistil (pistillum Cocos Nucifera) positively contains secondary metabolite compounds of flavonoids, saponins, tannins, terpenoids and phenolics. So that coconut pistil can be used as one of the traditional medicinal ingredients

Abstract

A 6-month-old baby requires complementary feeding (MP-ASI) to meet nutritional needs and support growth and development. The mother's knowledge of proper MP-ASI provision influences the baby's nutritional status, including types, composition, and feeding methods. The nutrition received will directly affect the baby's growth. This study aims to analyze the relationship between maternal knowledge of MP-ASI and the nutritional status of babies aged 6-24 months in the working area of Padang Panyang Health Center, Kuala Pesisir District, Nagan Raya Regency. This quantitative study uses an analytical observational method with a cross-sectional design and Purposive Sampling technique. Ninety-three mothers with children aged 6-24 months were selected as samples. Data was collected using a questionnaire to assess maternal knowledge and anthropometric measurements to evaluate nutritional status. The data were analyzed using the Chi-Square test, showing a significant result (p=0.006, p<0.05). The results showed that 55.9% of mothers had sufficient knowledge, 34.4% had poor knowledge, and 9.7% had good knowledge. Additionally, 80.6% of babies had normal nutritional status, while 19.4% had abnormal nutritional status, indicating a strong relationship between maternal knowledge and the nutritional status of babies. Mothers with a better understanding of MP-ASI provision tend to have children with better nutritional status.
