Abstract

The purpose of this research is to develop a real-time temperature monitoring instrument based on the Internet of Things (IoT). The research steps were design of a series of tools consisting of a Nodemcu microcontroller and an LM35 sensor, developing a tool that has been designed, testing the tool, and evaluating it. Performance analysis of the tool was carried out by measuring the relative error of the tool that has been developed with a standard thermometer. The result showed that the instrument's accuracy is 99.96% and the relative error percentage is 0.71%. It can be concluded that a room temperature measurement instrument with an IoT-based LM35 sensor can work well.

Abstract

Lighting in the bedroom is important in maintaining the quality of children's sleep. At the age of 0-5 years, a child has a sleep duration of around 11-18 hours, so it is necessary to pay attention to the lighting in the bedroom so that children have quality sleep time. This study aims to determine the effect of lighting in the bedroom on the sleep quality of children aged 0-5 years. Samples were taken randomly with the age range of children 0-5 years with the criteria of children accustomed to sleeping with the lights off as many as 6 samples.  The number of samples was adjusted to the availability of samples around the research site in Tinjomoyo village. Data collection techniques were observation and questionnaires. The parents of the sample filled out the observation sheets and questionnaires. The duration of data collection depends on how many times each sample wakes up during sleep at night, starting when the child falls asleep until 03.00 AM. The results showed that there was an effect of bedroom lighting on the sleep quality of children aged 0-5 years as indicated by a change in the child's total awakening, which is an average of 2 fewer awakenings during sleep from the lights on to the lights off.

Abstract

The Kendal Industrial Area (KIK) is developed to accelerate economic development in the Kendal district area and to support the acceleration and expansion of economic development. Industrialization will lead to a process of air pollution which is marked by 16 companies that are already operating in the KIK area. This research was aimed to analyze the impact of the Kendal Industrial Estate on air quality. The approach of this research used descriptive method, with an analysis of changes in air quality that occurred before the existence of KIK and after the development of industrial areas. The factors that affect the air quality conditions reviewed in this study were air temperature, surface pressure, wind speed, and relative humidity. Data collection techniques used were secondary data NASA satellite imagery. The results showed that there is a change in air conditions after the presence of KIK as indicated by the increase in air pressure and air temperature and the decrease in relative humidity and wind speed. The results indicates that the existence of the Kendal Industrial Area (KIK) causes changes in environmental conditions, but these changes are not significant so they are still within the comfort limits for industrial areas.
