Abstract

Carbon Nanodots (C-Dots) from waste frying oil could be used as a photocatalyst in water purification with solar light irradiation. Performance of C-Dots as a photocatalyst was tested in the process of water purification with  a given synthetic sewage methylene blue. The tested was also conducted by comparing the performance C-Dots made from frying oil, waste fryng oil as a photocatalyst and solution of methylene blue without photocatalyst C-Dots. Performance of C-Dots from waste frying oil were estimated by the results of absorbance spectrum. The results of measurement absorbance spectrum from the process of water purification with photocatalyst C-Dots showed that the highest intensity at a wavelength 664 nm of methylene blue decreased. The test results showed that the performance of photocatalyst C- Dots from waste frying oil was better in water purification. This estimated that number of particles C-dots is more in waste frying oil because have experieced repeated the heating process so that the higher particles concentration make the photocatalyst process more effective. The observation of the performance C-Dots from waste frying oil as a photocatalyst in the water purification processes become important invention for solving the problems of waste and water purification.

Abstract

Pembelajaran guided inquiry berbantuan lembar kerja siswa telah dilaksanakan untuk menentukan peningkatan penguasaan konsep dan deskripsi perkembangan keterampilan interpersonal siswa SMA. Metode yang digunakan dalam pengambilan data adalah desain quasi experiment dengan rancangan nonequivalent control group. Populasinya adalah siswa kelas X pada salah satu SMA Negeri di Semarang. Sampel yang terpilih menggunakan teknik purposive sampling adalah kelas X-1 sebagai kelas eksperimen dan kelas X-2 sebagai kelas kontrol. Kedua kelas diberi treatment yang berbeda, yaitu kelas eksperimen diajar dengan model guided inquiry berbantuan lembar kerja siswa dan kelas kontrol diajar dengan model discovery. Berdasarkan  uji gain pretest-posttest menunjukkan adanya peningkatan rata-rata penguasaan konsep pada kelas eksperimen sebesar 0,72 dengan kategori tinggi dan pada kelas kontrol  sebesar 0,70 dengan kategori tinggi. Ketuntasan kelas eksperimen sebesar 71,43% dan kelas kontrol sebesar  58,33%. Hasil uji t pihak kanan menunjukkan bahwa thitung 1,97 > ttabel 1,67 pada taraf signifikasi 5%, artinya penguasaan konsep kelas eksperimen lebih baik daripada kelas kontrol. Hasil uji gain peningkatan keterampilan interpersonal pada kelas eksperimen menunjukan nilai gain 0,39 dengan kategori sedang, sedangkan pada kelas kontol menunjukan nilai gain 0,19 dengan kategori rendah. Berdasarkan hasil tersebut disimpulkan bahwa pembelajaran guided inquiry berbantuan lembar kerja siswa dapat meningkatkan penguasaan konsep dan keterampilan interpersonal siswa SMA.

Abstract

      Masalah rendahnya pendidikan karakter menjadi sorotan publik. Pusat Kurikulum Kementerian Pendidikan Nasional tahun 2010 merumuskan materi-materi pembelajaran perlu dikembangkan pendidikan karakter. Pengintegrasian karakter melalui LKS berpendekatan scientific pada materi tata surya. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mendeskripsikan desain LKS, mengetahui tingkat kelayakan dan  tingkat keterbacaan LKS, peningkatan hasil belajar kognitif, dan perkembangan karakter siswa setelah menggunakan LKS. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah R&D (Research & Development). Uji coba kelompok besar menggunakan desain quasi experimental design berbentuk pretest dan posttest one group design. Berdasarkan hasil analisis, diketahui (1) kelayakan LKS berada pada kriteria layak; (2) tingkat keterbacaan LKS pada kriteria tinggi; (3) karakter yang berkembang pada kriteria sedang; dan (4) peningkatan hasil kognitif berada pada kriteria sedang. Simpulan dari penelitian ini adalah (1) desain LKS terdiri dari lima tahap pembelajaran scientific, karakter dimunculkan dari petunjuk kerja pada tahap-tahap pendekatan scientific dan materi tata surya; (2) tingkat kelayakan LKS berada pada kriteria layak; (3) tingkat keterbacaan LKS berada pada kriteria tinggi; (4) LKS dapat mengembangkan karakter disiplin, rasa ingin tahu, mandiri dan tanggung jawab; (5) LKS mampu meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa.   The problem of low character education becomes the public spotlight. Curriculum Center of the Ministry of National Education in 2010 to formulate the learning materials need to develop character education. The integration of character through LKS has a scientific approach to the solar system material. The purpose of this study is to describe the design of LKS, know the level of eligibility and level of legality LKS, improvement of cognitive learning outcomes, and the development of student character after using LKS. The research method used is R & D (Research & Development). Large group trials used quasi design experimental design in the form of pretest and posttest one group design. Based on the results of the analysis, it is known (1) the feasibility of LKS is on the criteria worthy; (2) LKS legibility level on high criteria; (3) characters that develop on moderate criteria; and (4) the increase in cognitive outcomes is in moderate criteria. The conclusions of this study are (1) LKS design consists of five stages of scientific learning, character is generated from the work manual at the stages of scientific approach and solar system material; (2) the feasibility level of the LKS is in the criteria of eligibility; (3) LKS legibility is in high criteria; (4) LKS can develop the character of discipline, curiosity, independence and responsibility; (5) LKS can improve student learning outcomes

Abstract

Representasi dalam memecahkan masalah memberikan informasi cara siswa memahami konsep. Siswa memiliki pola beragam untuk memecahkan masalah yang berkaitan dengan konsep fisika. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengidentifikasi: (1) kecenderungan representasi siswa, (2) pola pemecahan masalah berdasarkan kecenderungan representasi, (3) pola pemecahan masalah dalam membangun pemahaman konsep. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian kualitatif model grounded theory. Siswa dikategorikan pemahamannya ke dalam kategori tinggi, sedang dan rendah. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan siswa kategori tinggi memiliki kecenderungan representasi simbolik, kategori sedang dan rendah memiliki kecenderungan representasi visual gambar. Siswa kecenderungan representasi simbolik memiliki pola yaitu membaca, menganalisis, merencanakan solusi, melaksanakan, menyimpulkan. Siswa kecenderungan visual gambar memiliki dua pola. Pola pertama yaitu membaca, memahami masalah, menganalisis, melaksanakan dan menyimpulkan, pola kedua sama dengan pola pertama namun proses menganalisis menggunakan konsep. Berdasarkan pemahaman konsepnya, siswa kategori tinggi menggunakan dua pola. Pola pertama yaitu membaca, memahami masalah, menganalisis, membuat solusi, menyimpulkan. Pola kedua yaitu membaca, memahami masalah, menganalisis menggunakan konsep, merencanakan solusi, melaksanakan solusi, menyimpulkan. Siswa kategori sedang menggunakan dua pola. Pola pertama yaitu membaca, memahami masalah, menganalisis dan menyimpulkan. Pola kedua yaitu membaca, memahami masalah, menganalisis menggunakan konsep, merencanakan solusi, melaksanakan solusi dan menyimpulkan. Siswa kategori rendah memiliki pola yaitu membaca, memahami masalah, menganalisis dan menyimpulkan.   Representation in solving the problem gives information on how students understand concepts. Students have a variety of patterns to solve the problems associated with the concept of physics. This study aims to identify: (1) the tendency of student representation, (2) based on the likelihood of resolving problems of representation, (3) pattern of problem solving in building understanding of the concept. This research is a qualitative model of grounded theory. Students are categorized understanding into the category of high, medium and low. The results showed high class students have a tendency symbolic representation, medium and low categories have the tendency visual representation of the image. Students tendency symbolic representation has a pattern of reading, analyzing, planning solutions, implement, conclude. Students tendency visual image has two patterns. The first pattern is read, to understand the problem, analyze, implement and conclude, the second pattern similar to the pattern, but the process of analyzing the first to use the concept. Based on the understanding of the concept, students high category use two patterns. The first pattern is read, to understand the problem, analyze, create solutions, concludes. The second pattern is read, understood the problem, analyze the use of the concept, planning solutions, implementing solutions, concludes. Students category're using two patterns. The first pattern is read, understood the problem, analyze and conclude. The second pattern is read, understood the problem, analyze the use of the concept, planning solutions, implement solutions and concluded. Students low category has a pattern of reading, understanding the problem, analyze and conclude.

Abstract

Latar belakang penelitian ini adalah kurangnya bahan ajar bermuatan pendidikan multikultural. Kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa dalam memecahkan masalah Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui, (1) bagaimana deskripsi bahan ajar yang selama ini digunakan, (2) bagaimana karakteristik bahan ajar yang dikembangkan, (3) bagaimana kevalidan bahan ajar PBL bermuatan pendidikan multikultural untuk meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis, (4) bagaimana kepraktisan bahan ajar PBL bermuatan pendidikan multikultural untuk meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian dan pengembangan atau Research and Development (R&D). Bahan ajar ini disesuaikan dengan muatan materi yaitu keberagaman budaya dan suku bangsa. Karakteristik bahan ajar ini adalah dengan mengembangkan bahan ajar berbasis PBL dengan muatan pendidikan multikultural. Bahan ajar ini dari uji kevalidan termasuk kategori sangat baik. Berdasarkan uji gain, bahan ajar yang dikembangkan efektif meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis. Bahan ajar PBL bermuatan pendidikan multikultural praktis dan dapat diterima untuk digunakan dalam pembelajaran di kelas IV.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to analyze the ability of mathematical literacy viewed from the student goal orientation in the Osborn Model with the REACT Strategy. The research method used is Mixed Methods with a concurrent embedded model of quantitative method become primary. The population in this study were all students of SMP N 14 Semarang. Meanwhile, the samples taken for this study were grade VII-I students using the Osborn Model learning with REACT Strategy (experimental class), and grade VII-E students using the Discovery Learning (control class) by purposive sampling, while  the subjects of the qualitative study were 6 selected students from class VII-I consisting of two students each in high, medium, and low mastery goal and performance goal. Data collection technique was done through quantitative data collection using tests, and qualitative data collection using questionnaires and interviews. The results showed: that the average test (tvalue = 4.03 > tvalue = 1.669), the different proportional test (zvalue = 2.04 > ztable = 1.64), the average difference test (tvalue = 3.45 > tvalue) = 1.669), and the different proportional tests (zvalue = 4.21 > ztable = 1.78) Based on the results of the study, therefore it can be concluded that literacy ability of students using the Osborn Model learning with REACT Strategy were better than the students who use Discovery Learning and students with mastery goals were able to master mathematical literacy ability very well compared to students with performance goals.

Abstract

Lightweight Expanded Carbon Aggregate (LECA) adalah media yang lazim digunakan sebagai media tanam hidroponik. Densitas LECA yang kecil menyebabkan massa LECA menjadi sangat ringan. Porositas dari media ini dipengaruhi oleh pori. Pori berperan meningkatkan kemampuan menyimpan air dari LECA. Pada umumnya, LECA dibuat dari bahan baku tanah liat yang diperlakukan pada tekanan dan suhu yang tinggi sehingga dihasilkan media yang ringan dengan porositas yang tinggi. Limbah daun dapat dimanfaatkan karena memiliki kandungan karbon yang tinggi. Penelitian ini bertujuan menemukan pembuatan LECA berbahan baku limbah daun. Pembuatan LECA dilakukan dengan mencampurkan karbon yang berasal dari pembakaran limbah daun dengan PEG sebagai agen pembentuk pori dan PVAc sebagai perekat. LECA yang dihasilkan dikarakterisasi dengan menghitung nilai porositasnya dan mengujikan LECA sebagai media tanam hidroponik. Hasil perhitungan menunjukkan bahwa peningkatan persentase PEG akan meningkatkan porositas LECA. Sedangkan hasil uji LECA sebagai media tanam dibuktikan dengan tanaman Lili Paris dan biji kangkung yang tumbuh dengan baik setelah ditumbuhkan diatas media LECA.

Abstract

Physics learning in sound wave material by utilizing sasando musical instruments is one of the learning experiences that allows students to develop cognitive, affective, and psychomotor abilities. Through sasando, sound material can be learned, for example the concept of factors that affect the frequency, resonance, and intensity of sound. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of applying PBL learning models assisted by sasando musical instruments to the students understanding of concepts and analytical thinking ability. Data collection techniques are carried out through observation and tests. The results of data analysis showed that PBL learning strategies assisted by sasando musical instruments had an effect on students’ both conceptual understanding and analytical thinking ability. The results of the N-Gain pretest and posttest calculations in the experimental class showed an increase in understanding concepts and analytical thinking ability of students. The understanding concept of N-Gain value increases by 51.76% with the medium category, while the value of N-Gain analytical thinking increases by 52.95% with the medium category. In general, the conclusions that can be drawn from this study are PBL learning strategy strategies assisted by sasando musical instruments have a positive effect on understanding concepts and students' analytical thinking skills.

Abstract

Metacognition skills are needed in learning activities both in the learning process and in measuring learning outcomes. This study aims to analyze the level of understanding of high school students' physics concepts on waves and optics using the ISCoA metacognitive strategy (Identification, Selfregulation, Cognitive Assessment). The research was conducted through an online program, on 32 students of class XI IPA SMA Abu Bakar Yogyakarta as respondents using research and development methods. The instrument used in this study included a non-test instrument in the form of a modified MAI (Metacognitive Awareness Inventory) questionnaire which contained a statement of metacognitive awareness using the MAI reference, a test instrument in the form of 20 cognitive questions, a brief description of the reasoned category of measuring concept understanding and 4 questions to describe the problem solving category of the material. waves and optics. The results of this study were the metacognition ability in the developing category of 46.88%. The level of understanding of the concept of students is in the high category of 28.12%, the medium category of 46.88% and the low category of 25%. The level of problem solving ability of students in the poor category is 46.88%, and the high category is 12.5%.
