Abstract

The growing use of social media in Indonesia has led to the emergence of the second account phenomenon-alternative accounts used in a more private and anonymous manner. These accounts are often utilized as spaces for self-expression beyond social expectations but can also serve as platforms for deviant behaviors such as cyber-aggression. This study aims to examine the relationship between Dark Triad personality traits-comprising Machiavellianism, Psychopathy, and Narcissism-and cyber-aggression among second account users on social media. A quantitative correlational approach was employed, involving 475 participants who own second accounts. Instruments used include the Cyber-Aggression Questionnaire for Adolescents (CYBA) and the Indonesian version of the Dark Triad Dirty Dozen (DTDD). Multiple linear regression analysis revealed that Machiavellianism (β = 0.2231, p < .001) and Psychopathy (β = 0.2727, p < .001) significantly influenced cyber-aggression, while Narcissism did not show a significant effect (β = 0.0690, p = 0.179). The model explained 20% of the variance in cyber-aggression behavior (Adjusted R² = 0.200). These findings indicate that individuals with Machiavellian and subclinical psychopathic traits are more prone to engaging in online aggression, particularly in contexts that offer anonymity. This study underscores the importance of considering personality aspects in understanding deviant behavior on social media and highlights the need for psychological interventions in anonymous digital spaces.

Abstract

Bullying is a form of violence that frequently occurs in school environments and poses a serious challenge for junior high school or Islamic junior high school (MTs) students, particularly during early adolescence, a stage characterized by identity exploration. The impact of bullying can affect various aspects of victims’ lives, including psychological, social, physical, and academic domains. This study aims to describe the level of social support received by MTs students who have experienced bullying. The study employed a descriptive quantitative approach with 90 adolescent respondents aged 12–16 years. The instruments used were the Olweus Bully/Victim Questionnaire (OBVQ), which demonstrated a reliability coefficient of 0.893 and item validity ranging from 0.340 to 0.673, and the Child and Adolescent Social Support Scale (CASSS), which showed an alpha reliability above 0.962 and item validity greater than 0.30. The findings revealed that most students reported a moderate level of social support (34.4%), while most of the bullying victims also fall into the moderate category (36.7%). These results indicate that although most students receive a sufficient level of social support, some still experience low levels of support, which may exacerbate the negative effects of bullying. Therefore, this study highlights the importance of strengthening social support systems within religious-based school environments as a preventive and intervention strategy for bullying victims.

Abstract

Psycho-social hazards in children at school include violence against children, peer victimization, discrimination, heavy academic pressure and bullying. The impact of psycho-social hazards on children is very serious, such as children becoming low self-esteem, aggressive, depressed, injured, drug abuse, experiencing personality disorders, tending to want to hurt themselves and even wanting to commit suicide. On the other hand, parenting styles, students' socio-economic conditions and the influence of gadgets and social media can make children more exposed to psycho-social hazards, whether at school, in their families or in the environment where they live. Manifestations of existing problems include students committing physical violence at school, mocking friends, and even threatening their school friends, whether the school knows about it or not. The aim of this activity is to increase children's knowledge regarding potential psycho-social hazards at school and know how to prevent them. Implementation methods include: 1) preparation stage, 2) implementation stage and 3) evaluation stage. This activity has received an ethical certificate no. 313/KEPK/FK/KLE/2024 from the Health Research Ethics Commission, Faculty of Medicine, UNNES. The results of this activity obtained an increase in teacher knowledge by 2 points, namely from an average of 83 to 85, while the average student knowledge increased significantly, namely from 53 to 80 (an increase of 27 points). Therefore, learning innovation through various media, including educational game media, is very necessary to accelerate the increase in children's knowledge which can be obtained more enjoyably.

Abstract

Inclusivity emphasizing the acceptance and appreciation of diversity without discrimination is crucial in youth organizations such as Karang Taruna, a village-level platform for adolescent development in Indonesia. This community service paper examines the role of inclusivity in strengthening adolescent mental health within Karang Taruna Kalisegoro, Gunungpati, Semarang. The initiative was carried out by a multidisciplinary team from Universitas Negeri Semarang (Unnes) through a one-day workshop on mental health literacy and inclusive leadership for 20 administrators and members of Karang Taruna. The methods included interactive lectures, case analysis using documentary films on adolescent mental health disorders, peer tutorials, and facilitated group discussions, grounded in Ryff’s Psychological Well-Being Model. Results revealed a significant increase in participants’ understanding of mental health issues, early recognition of mental disorder symptoms, reduced stigma, and commitment to establishing a mental health-aware community integrated with Karang Taruna and the village government. Participants also reported enhanced confidence in inclusive leadership and the ability to foster mutually supportive environments, supporting all six dimensions of Ryff’s psychological well-being. Recommendations include sustained cross-sector collaboration, expansion of literacy programs, and further empirical research to measure the long-term impact of inclusivity on adolescent mental health indicators.

Abstract

The absence of a father figure during childhood may influence women’s psychological development in early adulthood, particularly in the emergence of the Cinderella complex. This study aims to describe the manifestation of the Cinderella complex among early adult women who grew up without a father’s presence or role. The research addresses the problem of how fatherlessness contributes to emotional dependence and the need for protection in adult women. This study employed a qualitative descriptive approach using a case study method. The participants consisted of three early adult women aged 18–25 years who experienced fatherlessness due to divorce, death, or psychological abandonment. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, observations, and documentation, and were analyzed using an interactive analysis model. The results indicate that women who grow up without a father tend to seek a substitute for their “first love,” which is often represented by the father figure. This unmet need fosters a dependence on others, particularly men, for protection and emotional security. Participants with Cinderella complex tendencies demonstrated a strong need for physical and emotional closeness, along with difficulties in achieving independence. The findings suggest that the Cinderella complex does not develop solely in women accustomed to receiving assistance but may also emerge in women lacking a father figure, driven by the motivation to find a replacement for the absent protective role. This study highlights the importance of understanding fatherlessness as a contributing factor to the development of emotional dependence in early adult women.
