Abstract

Rock art is an archaeological phenomenon which spread all over the world. Abstract

The Old Banten region is proof of the greatness of the Banten Sultanate, which once stood in the west of Java Island for nearly three centuries. Many experts have studied the historical data, such as the explorer's travel notes or ancient maps, and done a lot of excavation to discover evidence that describes the splendor of the Banten Sultanate civilization. Even so, several archaeological data around the area are still untouched and can be explored. Based on the studies conducted, by combining the latest research, historical sources, and field observation data, the results show a match between the historical data and the current archaeological evidence. This paper also explores the areas considered as potential for future research.

Abstract, The Similarity of Traditions and Symbols: Comparative Study of Recent Rock Art in Indo-Malaysia. As an ancient art, rock art, in general, is always associated with the prehistoric hunter-gatherer communities in the upper Paleolithic period or about 40,000 years ago. However, it was later discovered that the tradition of drawing/painting inside the cave was still practiced by modern hunter-gatherer communities in the 19th century, especially in the Indo-Malaysian region. This article seeks to conduct a comparative study of "recent" rock art in Lenggong Region, Perak, Peninsular Malaysia with the new findings of "recent" rock art from Bukit Bulan Region, Sarolangun, Jambi, Sumatera Island, Indonesia. The method used is a comparative analysis that seeks similarities from attributes such as techniques, motifs, sizes, and characters. The results show that both recent “young” rock art in the two regions are somehow alike. Also, contextual studies show the existence of similar traditions and behavior between modern hunter-gatherer communities in both regions. Abstrak. Abstract

This community service activity aims to enhance the educational function of the Siginjei Museum in Jambi and to raise young people’s awareness of the historical and symbolic value of the rupiah as a marker of national economic identity. The program, entitled “Cinto Duit Kito” (Our Beloved Money), focuses on promoting love for the rupiah through public education activities based on the museum’s numismatic collection. The program was initiated due to students’ low interest in ancient currency collections and the lack of engaging educational narratives in museums. The implementation consisted of preparation, execution, and evaluation stages. The execution phase included cataloging numismatic collections, developing educational materials integrating history and economics, and conducting interactive learning sessions for student visitors. The results indicate improved understanding and enthusiasm among students regarding the history of Indonesia’s currency, accompanied by the creation of educational worksheets handed over to the museum as sustainable learning media. This program also strengthened collaboration between the University of Jambi and the Siginjei Museum in public education and contributed significantly to the university’s Key Performance Indicators. Thus, “Cinto Duit Kito”serves as a model for synergy between higher education and cultural institutions in developing history and economic education based on local wisdom.
