Abstract

The low market demand for the Islamic Education Study Program (Prodi Kependidikan Islam) at STAIN Jember necessitates strategic development to enhance its competitiveness and relevance. This study aims to identify essential steps for developing the program across the input, process, and output dimensions. Using a descriptive qualitative method with a developmental research approach, data were collected through observation, in-depth interviews, questionnaires, and documentation from purposively selected informants, including university leaders, department heads, lecturers, and students. The findings reveal seven strategic steps for input development, five for process improvement, and four for output enhancement. Key measures include intensifying socialization and collaboration with regional educational offices, designing a distinctive curriculum that emphasizes administration and management competencies, prioritizing lecturers with educational management backgrounds, expanding practical field experiences to include supervision and counseling, and formulating prospective political policies regarding graduate certification. The study concludes that program clarity regarding its orientation—whether producing teaching or non-teaching graduates—is fundamental, and recommends curriculum evaluation meetings and strategic diploma formatting to ensure graduate marketability. Rendahnya minat pasar terhadap Program Studi Kependidikan Islam (Prodi KI) di STAIN Jember memerlukan pengembangan strategis guna meningkatkan daya saing dan relevansinya. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengidentifikasi langkah-langkah penting pengembangan prodi dari aspek input, proses, dan output. Dengan menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif pendekatan pengembangan, data dikumpulkan melalui observasi, wawancara mendalam, angket, dan dokumentasi dari informan yang dipilih secara purposive meliputi pimpinan perguruan tinggi, ketua jurusan, dosen, dan mahasiswa. Hasil penelitian menemukan tujuh langkah strategis pengembangan aspek input, lima langkah untuk aspek proses, dan empat langkah untuk aspek output. Langkah kunci meliputi intensifikasi sosialisasi dan kolaborasi dengan kantor kementerian agama kabupaten, penyusunan kurikulum khas yang menekankan kompetensi administrasi dan manajemen, prioritas dosen berlatar belakang manajemen pendidikan, perluasan PPL mencakup supervisi dan konseling, serta kebijakan politis prospektif terkait format ijazah. Penelitian menyimpulkan bahwa kejelasan arah prodi—menghasilkan lulusan keguruan atau non-keguruan—bersifat fundamental, dengan rekomendasi rakor ev kurikulum dan pemformatan ijazah strategis untuk memastikan keterterimaan lulusan di pasar kerja.

Abstract

This case study aims at exploring the use of information and communication technology (ICT) in teaching and learning process at Bustanul Makmur Junior High School Genteng Banyuwangi. Specifically, the research focuses on (1) the profile of Bustanul Makmur Junior High School, (2) the realization of the use of ICT in teaching and learning process at Bustanul Makmur Junior High School, (3) background or the motivation behind the use of ICT in teaching and learning process, (4) teachers’ and students’ responses toward the use of ICT in teaching and learning process, and (5) supporting factors and obstacles to the use of ICT in teaching and learning process. Studi kasus ini bertujuan untuk mengeksplorasi penggunaan teknologi informasi dan komunikasi (TIK) dalam proses pembelajaran di SMP Bustanul Makmur Genteng Banyuwangi. Secara khusus, penelitian ini berfokus pada (1) profil SMP Bustanul Makmur, (2) realisasi penggunaan TIK dalam proses pembelajaran di SMP Bustanul Makmur, (3) latar belakang atau motivasi di balik penggunaan TIK dalam proses pembelajaran, (4) tanggapan guru dan siswa terhadap penggunaan TIK dalam proses pembelajaran, dan (5) faktor pendukung dan penghambat penggunaan TIK dalam proses pembelajaran.

Abstract

This research aimed to discover whether there is a difference between lecturers who have and have not passed the certification program at Islamic Religious Colleges in Banyuwangi Regency. The population consisted of 129 lecturers (42 lecturers from STAI Ibrahimy and 87 lecturers from STAIDA Blokagung), with a sample of 65 lecturers (41 certified and 24 non-certified). Primary data were collected through questionnaires and analyzed using t-tests. The results were as follows: (1) there are significant differences in pedagogic competence; (2) there are significant differences in professional competence; (3) there were no significant differences in social competence; (4) there are significant differences in personality competence; (5) there are significant differences in innovation in learning planning; and (6) there are significant differences in innovation in the implementation of learning between certified and non-certified lecturers at Islamic Religious Colleges in Banyuwangi Regency. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui apakah terdapat perbedaan antara dosen yang telah dan belum lulus program sertifikasi dosen di Perguruan Tinggi Agama Islam (PTAI) Kabupaten Banyuwangi. Populasi penelitian terdiri dari 129 dosen (42 dosen STAI Ibrahimy dan 87 dosen STAIDA Blokagung), dengan sampel sebanyak 65 dosen (41 dosen yang telah lulus dan 24 dosen yang belum lulus program sertifikasi). Data primer dikumpulkan melalui kuesioner dan dianalisis menggunakan uji-t. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan: (1) terdapat perbedaan signifikan dalam kompetensi pedagogik; (2) terdapat perbedaan signifikan dalam kompetensi profesional; (3) tidak terdapat perbedaan signifikan dalam kompetensi sosial; (4) terdapat perbedaan signifikan dalam kompetensi kepribadian; (5) terdapat perbedaan signifikan dalam inovasi perencanaan pembelajaran; dan (6) terdapat perbedaan signifikan dalam inovasi pelaksanaan pembelajaran antara dosen yang telah dan belum lulus program sertifikasi di PTAI Kabupaten Banyuwangi.

Abstract

Facing the era of globalization filled with competition, education becomes a prerequisite for participating in future development. This has led to the emergence of many tutoring institutions, resulting in intense competition in the education service industry. The aim of this research is to develop a new learning program strategy using the SWOT analysis method at BES Kediri Tutoring Institution. The results of the SWOT analysis for the next period need to enhance the quality of learning, improve English language courses and Conversational skills not offered by other tutoring institutions, and enhance learning services that are equal to or better than competitors. Based on the SWOT quadrant matrix analysis, it is concluded that BES tutoring institution has a total strength greater than weaknesses, while total opportunities are smaller than threats. Therefore, BES tutoring institution falls into quadrant II. The strategy formulated is diversification strategy (product/market) efforts to seek and develop new products or markets, or diversify to expand market share or all of the above.

Abstract

The existing Islamic religious education curriculum shows a clear separation between subjects like Al-Qur'an, Hadith, Fiqh, Aqidah, and the history of Islamic culture. Full integration of these elements is lacking, but it has the potential to improve students' religious experiences by providing comprehensive support for worship. Madrasah institutions face challenges related to ownership, environment, and teachers adapting to technological advancements in the current era. This study aims to explore how PAI (Islamic Religious Education) teachers implement innovative approaches in madrasahs. Employing a qualitative research design with a literature review methodology, information was gathered from various regulations, books, and magazines. We opted for a qualitative approach to explore innovative curriculum changes that can improve the quality of millennial-era madrasahs with Islamic characteristics. The literature review exposed a predominant focus on subject-centric designs influenced by teachers and infrastructure in constructing Islamic religious education curricula in madrasahs. In response, a proposed ideal model emphasizes an integrated learning approach tailored for the millennium era. This model strives to enhance Islamic language skills through integration. The study concludes by underlining key themes: innovation, curriculum development, Islamic religious education, madrasah, and the era of Society 5.0.

Abstract

The transformation in pesantren has had many challenges over time because the center to spread Islamic religion and Islamic education is pesantren. The existence of pesantren has been present and has experienced developments starting from the early days of Islam entering Indonesia. Curriculum development can be based on reforms in certain fields. For example, the discovery of new learning theories and changes in society's demands on schools. So that the curriculum is expected to be able to build certain developments, as a result of advances in science and technology and technology information, as well as globalization, history, differences in student backgrounds, society philosophical values, religion, certain groups, and cultural ethnicities. The research focuses are: 1) what is the objective transformation of the Madrassa Wustha curriculum at Wali Songo Mimbaan Situbondo and Salafiyah Syafi'iyah Sukorejo pesantren in Situbondo? 2) how is the transformation of Madrassa Wustha curriculum contents at Wali Songo Mimbaan Situbondo and Salafiyah Syafi'iyah Sukorejo  Pesantren in Situbondo?  3) how is the transformation of the Madrassa Diniyah Wustha curriculum method at Wali Songo Mimbaan Situbondo and Salafiyah Syafi'iyah Sukorejo  Pesantren in Situbondo? This research implements a qualitative approach with a multi-site study type of research. The determination of research subjects was carried out purposively. The data sources use primary data and secondary data. Data collection techniques using participatory observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation studies. Data analysis uses descriptive qualitative with an interactive model by Miles and Huberman. Data validity uses source triangulation and method triangulation.

Abstract

This research departs from the fact that there is still a lot of Al-Qur'an literacy in Indonesia, in line with the need to improve the reading ability of students who graduate from Islamic schools. Likewise with the quality of memorization. The application of the Taḥsīn and Taḥfīz Al-Qur'an learning methods has long been applied at Al Furqan Middle School Jember, but it has never been studied objectively how the advantages & disadvantages of these methods, as well as strategic solutions to produce better student reading and memorization. This research uses a qualitative approach with a case study type. The technique for determining research subjects uses a purposive technique. Data collection techniques through observation, interviews and documentation. Data analysis techniques use interactive model analysis techniques which consist of data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The techniques used to test the validity of the data are focused on using triangulation techniques between data sources. The results showed that the taḥsīn & taḥfīz Al-Qur'an learning method used by Al Furqan Junior High School Jember was the Ummi method. The advantages and disadvantages of the method consist of three educational components, namely: the Material side, the Strategy side, and the Management side. Strategic solutions that can be implemented to overcome this shortcoming include: First, from a material standpoint, always learn from other methods and upgrade teachers, as well as provide additional hours for students who are behind on memorization targets. Second, Sisi's strategy, asatidz provides direction for spiritual motivation for students, and there is muroja'ah time between completing the halaqoh opening prayer and before adding to the memorization. Third, the management makes the achievement of students' memorization targets a condition for taking report cards, and the memorization targets are controlled in the Muroja'ah Chart.

Abstract

Undergraduate students at the Faculty of Tarbiyah and Teacher Training, State Islamic University Kiai Haji Achmad Siddiq Jember frequently encounter difficulties in preparing thesis proposals, including weak problem formulation, misalignment between research topics and theoretical frameworks, limited academic literacy, and inadequate reference management. At the same time, the rapid development of Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools presents both opportunities and ethical challenges in academic writing. This community engagement program aimed to strengthen students’ competencies in using AI ethically and effectively to support the preparation of research proposals. The program involved 35 undergraduate students and was conducted over four weeks using a service-learning model integrated with transformative learning principles. The activities were implemented through three stages: interactive workshops (IN), AI-assisted proposal development (OUT), and proposal presentation and reflection (IN). Program evaluation employed proposal completion records, observations, and a Likert-scale questionnaire measuring effectiveness, efficiency, and writing quality. The results show that 31 of 35 students (89%) successfully produced AI-assisted research proposals, while 4 students (11%) did not complete their proposals. Questionnaire findings indicate that 71% of students strongly agreed that AI improved writing effectiveness, 77% strongly agreed that it increased efficiency, and 63% strongly agreed that it enhanced writing quality. These findings indicate that structured training enables students to use AI as a supportive academic tool while maintaining ethical awareness and academic integrity in scholarly writing.
