This Present study is used a qualitative method that prioritizes information on the novel text and interpretation it into the analysis. The data was taken from a novel entitled Shine by Jessica Jung, and several journals and books as supporting data. The focus of this study is the main character in the Shine novel, Rachel Kim. This study is about postcolonialism. Rachel Kim had experienced identity issues that occurred in her life. This research aims to describe how the identity issue occurred in Rachel. An overview of the identity issues experienced by Rachel is explained in the discussion of this article. Unhomeliness and hybridity are concepts described in the phenomena that occurred to Rachel. Unhomeliness is a sense of a person caught in two cultures. Hybridity is the strategy of colonized become the part of the colonizer. Both theories analyze the identity issues experienced by the main characters in the novel. The reference used is the theory of unhomeliness and hybridity is to use the concept of Homi. K. Bhaba. Unhomeliness analysis refers to the phenomenon of racism, discrimination, and rejection of the main character. As a result, the main character got mockery jokes and physical appearance toward her. The main character was sorrowful and upset being Korean in America. Furthermore, the analysis of hybridity described in the phenomenon Rachel wants to become a K-pop star. Along with her move from America to Korea, she also got rejected in Korea. The cause of rejection in Korea was because of her American background. Even though she got treated like that, she still struggles to achieve her dream as a K-pop star. The analysis proved the hybridity phenomenon had a relationship with the cause of Rachel's unhomeliness. The result of this study was the main character hybridized her identity. The first perceived experience phenomenon by the main character is unhomeliness and the second is hybridity. Being a K-pop star is made her proud as a Korean. As well as being a K-pop star who has Korean America would make her special in the entertainment industry. Thus, Rachel's identity is not fixed but hybridized.

This research presented an album by alternative rock band Radiohead's "Ok Computer". The objective of this research was to analyse the capitalist state employed in Radiohead's Ok Computer album in relation to slavery and poverty. Therefore, as this study used literary marxism, the method used by researchers was the qualitative method to describe naturally occurring occurrences. Radiohead's song. Overall, this research argued that Radiohead's Ok Computer album presented a literary marxist critique of capitalist state slavery and poverty. The album depicts the lives of the poor as jobs that slowly kill them and expresses disappointment in a system that protects a form of slavery. The album suggests that the capitalist state's poverty is the result of a new crisis, with the state ignoring the voices of the proletariat and exploiting them for the state's benefit. The capitalist state is driven by profits and structural inequality, which cannot be abolished unless we address the violent power structures underlying it.

Politeknik Negeri Jember offers several scholarship programs that provide opportunities for foreign students to pursue degree and non-degree education in Indonesia. One such scholarship is the Darmasiswa program, which aims to enhance the awardees' knowledge of Indonesian culture and language through the Bahasa Indonesia Bagi Penutur Asing (BIPA) class. To achieve this goal, the campus collaborates with the Language Center and International Office to organize the class. The program is conducted in three phases: 1) preparation, 2) implementation, and 3) evaluation. The evaluation phase is crucial for improving the program's quality. This study aims to describe the evaluation phase by analyzing the awardees' perceptions of the program. A questionnaire was used as the primary instrument, followed by interviews for confirmation. The results indicate that awardees generally have a positive perception of the program, as evidenced by their enthusiasm for the class. These findings are expected to help maintain and improve the quality of the BIPA class.

ABSTRACTThis paper is aimed at analyzing the sleeping beauty fairy tale using Vladimir Propp’sfunctions of dramatis personae. The analysis utilizes thirty one functions, however, not all that functions occur in a tale. These functions create a main framework in the story (Propp, 1968:25—65). The analysis reveals similarity between The Sleeping Beauty with any other folktale which came from Rusia. There are thirty one functions of dramatis personae which can be distributed into seven spheres of actions. From these seven spheres of actions, there are seven characters that usually appear in the fairy tales. But in The Sleeping Beauty there are only five characters since there is no helper and false hero in this story. Keywords: Sleeping Beauty, functions of dramatis personae, seven spheres of actions

This study is attempted to analyze an existentialism of Chekhov’s main characters Smirnov in “The Bearâ€, Lomov in “The Proposal†and Ivan in “A Tragedian in Spite of Himselfâ€. The data are taken from the dialogues selected in the plays mentioned. There are two objectives of the study that are: to find how the main characters show their existence; and to reveal why the main characters doing so in the plays. Descriptive qualitative is applied as research method, while existentialism as the main theory and positivism and rationalism as the supporting theory. This Study found out how the main characters oppose positivism and rationalism by being subjective. Each character has their own way in showing their existence. As the result, every character has their own purposes to be existence. The purposes of the main characters are their own eternal happiness. In “The Bear†Smirnov is being stubborn because he wants to show his power as a landowner, in “The Proposalâ€Â  Lomov is flaunting his wealth in order to propose Natalya, and Ivan is nagging to get sympathy from his friend.

The purpose of this research is to reveal whether Moana’s Screenplay by Jared Bush can be considered as an eco-feminism reading or not. To prove this hypothesis, the researcher analyzes Moana’s Screenplay through find out the characteristics of the main character that reflect ecological feminism and reveals the relationship between man, woman, and nature in Moana’s screenplay using eco-feminism perspective. The researcher uses descriptive qualitative methods in analyzing the data. The researcher found that eco-feminism issues were clearly shown in this screenplay. First, the main character in Moana’s Screenplay was not described as a weak woman but she showed the characteristics of leadership, ambitious, and courageous where these characters usually owned by man. She was described as a woman who loved their people and the environment which is a reflection of ecological feminism. Second, the relationship between man and woman was illustrated that male characters dominated woman both verbally and mentally. Third, regarding the relationship between man and nature, it was found that nature was dominated because man saw nature as a resource to meet human needs. Finally, related to the relationship between woman and nature, it was revealed that woman was closer to nature than man so they can live in harmony.
