Abstract

Dewasa ini, pembelajaran matematika di kelas kurang mengaitkan siswa secara aktif dimana siswa hanya mencatat dan mendengarkan apa yang ditulis dan dijelaskan guru di papan tulis. Hal tersebut menyebabkan rendahnya kemampuan penalaran matematis siswa. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui perbedaan kemampuan penalaran matematis antara siswa yang diajar dengan pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Jigsaw dan siswayang diajar dengan pembelajaran ROPES pada materi prisma di kelas VIII SMP IT Baiti Jannati. Jenis penelitian ini adalah eksperimen semu. Populasi penelitian adalah seluruh siswa kelas VIII SMP IT Baiti Jannati. Sampel penelitian adalah siswa kelas VIII-1 dan kelas VIII-2. Insrumen penelitian adalah tes berbentuk uraian. Analisis data dilakukan dengan Uji ANAVA Satu Jalur. Dari hasil penelitian yang diberi perlakuan yang berbeda, kelas eksperimen 1 dengan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Jigsaw dan kelas eksperimen 2 dengan model pembelajaran ROPES diperoleh kesimpulan bahwa terdapat perbedaan kemampuan penalaran matematis antara siswa yang diajar dengan pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Jigsaw dan siswa yang diajar dengan pembelajaran ROPES pada materi prisma di kelas VIII SMP IT Baiti Jannati. ABSTRACT                     Nowadays, learning mathematics in the classroom doesn’t engage students actively where students only take notes and listen to what the teacher writes and explains on the blackboard. This causes the students’ mathematical reasoning ability to be low. The aim of this study were to determine the difference of mathematical reasoning ability between students taught by Jigsaw type cooperative learning and students taught by ROPES learning model on prism material in class VIII Integrated Islamic Junior High School Baiti Jannati. This type of research is a quasi experiment. The population of research is all students of class VIII Integrated Islamic Junior High School Baiti Jannati. The sample of research are students of class VIII-1 and students of class VIII-2. The instrument is a test in the form of a description. The data were analysed by One Way ANAVA. From the results of different research, experimental class 1 with Jigsaw type cooperative learning and experimental class 2 with ROPES learning obtained the conclusion that there was difference of mathematical reasoning ability between students taught by Jigsaw type cooperative learning and students taught by ROPES learning model on prism material in class VIII Integrated Islamic Junior High School Baiti Jannati.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat proses pembuatan video pembelajaran berdasarkan model 4D, melihat tingkat kevalidan, dan keefektifan dari media pembelajaran berbasis video pada materi sistem persamaan linear tiga variabel.Penelitian ini menggunakan model pengembengan 4-D dengan 4 tahapan, yaitu define (pendefinisian), design (perancangan), develop (pengembangan) dan dessiminate (penyebaran). Subjek pada penelitian ini yaitu peserta didik di kelas X MIPA-2 SMA Negeri 14Medan yang berjumlah sebanyak 25orang. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa tingkat kevalidan dari media pembelajaran berdasarkan ahli media sebesar 96,6% dengan kategori sangat layak dan ahli materi sebesar 100% dengan kategori sangat layak sehingga media pembelajaran dikatakan valid. Sedangkan untuk tingkat keefektifan berdasarkan presentase ketuntasan belajar secara klasikal sebesar 84% dengan hasil indeks Gain Ternormalisasi 0.30 < g < 0.70 tergolong sedang, dan tafsiran efektivitas NGain sebesar 67 % tergolong cukup efektif.   ABSTRACK                          This study aims to see the process of making learning videos based on the 4D model, the level of validity, and effectiveness of video-based learning media on the material of a three-variable linear equation system. This study uses a 4-D model development with 4 stages, namely define (definition), design (design), develop (development) and dessiminate (deployment). The subjects in this study were 25 students in class X MIPA-2 SMA Negeri 14 Medan. The results of this study indicate that the level of validity of the learning media based on media experts is 96.6% with a very feasible category and 100% material experts with a very feasible category so that the learning media is said to be valid. Meanwhile, the level of effectiveness based on the percentage of classical learning completeness is 84% with the results of a Normalized Gain index of 0.30 < g < 0.70 classified as moderate, and the interpretation of the effectiveness of NGain of 67% is quite effective

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh pembelajaran berbasis etnomatematika terhadap kemampuan pemahaman konsep dan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kuantitatif dengan metode penelitian quasi eksperimen. Populasi penelitian ini siswa kelas VIII berjumlah 288 siswa. Sampel penelitian ini berjumlah 60 siswa, dimana kelas VIII-3 sebagai kelas eksperimen berjumlah 29 siswa dan kelas VIII-4 sebagai kelas kontrol berjumlah 31 siswa. Pengumpulan data dikumpulkan menggunakan nilai posttes. Teknik analisis data menggunakan uji normalitas, uji homogenitas serta uji hipotesis (uji t). Dari hasil uji hipotesis kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematis siswa diperoleh nilai  (7,096) >  (1,671). Sehingga ditolak dan  diterima yang artinya terdapat pengaruh pembelajaran berbasis etnomatematika terhadap kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematis siswa. Kemudian dari uji hipotesis kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa diperoleh nilai   (5,312) >  (1,671). Sehingga ditolak dan  diterima yang artinya terdapat pengaruh pembelajaran berbasis etnomatematika terhadap kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa. ABSTRACT This research aims to determine the effect of etnomatematika-based learning on students' mathematical concept understanding and problem-solving abilities. This research is a quantitative study using a quasi-experimental method. The population of this study consists of 288 students of class VIII. The sample of this study consists of 60 students, with class VIII-3 as the experimental class consisting of 29 students and class VIII-4 as the control class consisting of 31 students. Data collection was done using post-test scores. Data analysis techniques used normality tests, homogeneity tests, and hypothesis testing (t-test). The results of the hypothesis test on students' mathematical concept understanding abilities obtained a t-count value (7.096) > t-table (1.671). Therefore, H0 is rejected and Ha is accepted, which means that there is an effect of etnomatematika-based learning on students' mathematical concept understanding abilities. Furthermore, the results of the hypothesis test on students' mathematical problem-solving abilities obtained a t-count value (5.312) > t-table (1.671). Therefore, H0 is rejected and Ha is accepted, which means that there is an effect of etnomatematika-based learning on students' mathematical problem solving abilities.

Abstract

Problem-solving skills are abilities that students must master by prioritizing the steps involved in the problem-solving process. However, there are still many Junior High School (SMP) students in grade VII who have difficulties in solving mathematical problems, especially on the topic of geometry. This study aims to determine whether the PMRI approach has an impact on students' problem-solving abilities in geometry materials. The population of this study is all grade VII students, with a total of 134 students. The sample selection was conducted using Simple Random Sampling in grades VII-3 and VII-4 of SMP Negeri 1 Sipirok. The research method used was Quasi quasi-experimental design using a data collection technique through a test (pretest-posttest) consisting of 3 geometry topic essay questions. The data analysis techniques used were descriptive analysis and inferential analysis. Inferential analysis used a hypothesis test or the Independent Samples t-test. After conducting the research, it was found that the average score of students in the control class increased by 18,375 while the experimental class increased by 38,875, meaning that the problem-solving ability of students in the experimental class with the PMRI approach was 11.06 times higher than the control class. T-test results using IBM SPSS Statistics 30, a = 5% or 0.05, showed values sig < a, that is 0.000 < 0.005 which means that there is an influence of PMRI's approach on students' problem-solving abilities in geometry topics. Abstrak: Kemampuan pemecahan masalah merupakan kemampuan yang harus dikuasai siswa dengan mengedepankan langkah-langkah pemecahan masalah. Akan tetapi masih banyak Siswa Menengah Pertama (SMP) kelas VII yang mengalami kesulitan dalam memecahkan masalah matematika, khususnya pada topik geometri. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui apakah pendekatan PMRI berpengaruh terhadap kemampuan pemecahan masalah siswa pada materi geometri. Populasi penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas VII dengan total 134 siswa. Pemilihan sampel menggunakan simple random sampling yaitu di kelas VII-3 dan VII-4 SMP Negeri 1 Sipirok. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah quasi experimental design dengan menggunakan teknik pengumpulan data melalui tes (pretest-posttest) yang terdiri dari 3 soal essai topik geometri. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan adalah analisis deskriptif dan analisis inferensial. Analisis inferensial menggunakan uji hipotesis atau uji-t independent samples test. Setelah dilakukan penelitian, didapat nilai rata-rata siswa kelas kontrol meningkat sebesar 18.375 sedangkan kelas eksperimen meningkat sebesar 38.875, artinya kemampuan pemecahan masalah siswa kelas eksperimen dengan pendekatan PMRI lebih tinggi 11.06 dibandingkan dengan kelas kontrol. Hasil uji-t dengan mengunakan IBM SPSS Statistics 30, a = 5%, atau 0.05 menunjukkan nilai sig < a, yaitu 0.000 < 0.005 yang artinya terdapat pengaruh pendekatan PMRI terhadap kemampuan pemecahan masalah siswa pada materi geometri.

Abstract

This study aims to investigate the mathematical concept of the Sigale-gale statue so that it can be utilized as an instructional resource in mathematics. The study employs qualitative approaches using an ethnographic approach. The researcher served as the data collector for the study, and the informants were the Batak people. Primary data-gathering methods include observation, interviews, documentation, and comprehensive literature reviews. The data analysis technique is descriptive analysis in the form of data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results revealed that the Sigale-gale Sculpture contains mathematical concepts such as plane geometry, spatial geometry, reflection transformation, dilation transformation, and angles. Ethnomathematics can be an innovation as well as a breath of fresh air in the classroom learning process so that the methods used are not monotonous, ethnomathematics-based learning models, student worksheets, and visual videos that illustrate mathematical concepts on the Sigale-gale Statue are used, thereby increasing student motivation and interest, and student learning outcomes are also increasing.

Abstract

This study explores using traditional farming tools in an ethnomathematics context in Hutamanik Village, Sumbul District. The research method used is qualitative, with data collection techniques through observation, interviews, and documentation. The collected data were analyzed with an ethnomathematics approach. Ethnomathematics in traditional agricultural tools can help people maintain local wisdom and strengthen cultural identity. The results showed that conventional farming tools, such as a water drum, coffee mill, sharpener, saw, hoe, and sickle, were used. Cultural, economic, and geographic factors influence the use of these tools. These tools contain mathematical concepts like measurement, comparison, and geometry. An ethnomathematics approach can be applied in learning mathematics to motivate students to learn mathematics because they can see that mathematics is related to everyday life. For this reason, it is suggested that future researchers explore ethnomathematics in different contexts.

Abstract

This study aims to analyse the role of madrasah principal leadership in fostering teacher career development at MIN 1 Labuhanbatu. The background of the study highlights the persistent challenges faced by madrasah teachers in achieving the expected qualifications and professional competencies, often hindered by the lack of strategic and effective leadership. This research adopts a qualitative phenomenological case study approach, involving one madrasah principal and three teachers as participants. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, direct observation, and document analysis, and were analysed using Miles and Huberman’s interactive model of qualitative data analysis. The findings reveal that a firm yet transparent leadership style, characterised by inclusive decision-making and consistent motivation from the principal, plays a significant role in creating a positive and supportive work climate. Such leadership enhances teacher engagement, commitment, and continuous professional growth. The study concludes that effective leadership in Islamic schools is a critical factor in improving educational quality through the sustainable development of teacher careers.

Abstract

This study aims to develop valid, practical, and effective ethnomathematics-based worksheets using the ornaments of Maimun Palace in Medan for Grade IX students of SMP Sinar Husni in the 2024/2025 academic year. This research uses the Research and Development (RD) development model of the ADDIE model which includes Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation. The research subjects were 22 students of class IX-2 SMP Sinar Husni. Validation results indicate high validity indices from material (0.82), media (0.82), and language experts (0.83). Teachers and students rated the worksheets as very good and practical, with average scores of 3.7 and 3.33 out of 4.00 respectively. Student responses fall into the 'very strong' category, with a score of 83.31%. Effectiveness is seen from classical learning completeness of 86.37% and an increase in learning outcomes of 59.37%. The average N-gain value is 0.53 (medium category). Therefore, the developed ethnomathematics-based worksheets can serve as innovative and effective alternative teaching materials to improve students’ learning outcomes.
