Abstract

This article is a qualitative-descriptive study which employs which concern the existing phenomenon underlying in the translation of Qur'anic verses that are generally interpreted as a means for legitimizing the acts of terrorism by radical Islamists. The integration on the linguistic knowledge of Islamic texts has been studied as a process of incorporating new information into the existing knowledge with an interdisciplinary approach. The importance of language in the multitude of learning and the discipline of science has led to its status as a condition for correct understanding of the Qur'anic messages. This study used Fairclough’s intertextual approach on the potentially abused Qur’anic verses for violence acts in the name of Islam by extremist groups such ISIS. Two patterns of understanding Islamic texts become the spectrum of how the teachings of Islam are fairly understood. Linguistic provides general criticism toward the radicals’ interpretations in understanding the Islamic sources (primarily the Qur’anic verses). Then the study ends up with an argument that the radicalism in many groups in Islam is connected with the reality of Islamic sources which essentially needs to be interpreted in the context of Islamic societies and requires dynamic reading and prospective production on the meanings of a sacred text. Abstract

The sacred mission of education as stipulated in the motto of Indonesian Higher Education, which is to implement tridharma concept (education, research, and community service). However, looking at the current reality, it will be difficult for us to see our PT being able to succesfully implement the tridharma. This paper attempts to criticize our higher education which has unwittingly long ago developed into an agent of capitalism that perpetuates the system of capitalism in the practice of administration and policy of the higher education in Indonesia. Radicalism in education has been a potential futuristic threat to realize the quality of education. Radicalism may arise at any time, from anywhere and can be carried out by anyone, including by higher education institutions and government through various policy issued as Permenistek Dikti. Therefore radicalism needs to be fully integrated and comprehensively undertaken through constructive steps (deradicalisation) so that it can perform synergy neatly and precisely and relies on the paradigm and purpose of education itself.

Abstract

The role of PKK members is crucial in promoting health at the family and community levels in Indonesia. This community service project aimed to strengthen the role of 17 PKK members in Jomblangan Village through structured health education and empowerment training. Utilizing a participatory action approach, the program focused on five thematic areas: balanced nutrition, stunting prevention, hygiene and sanitation, maternal and child health, and home-based first aid. Data were collected through pre- and post-tests, observation, and focus group discussions. The average knowledge score increased by 29%, and participants demonstrated behavioral changes such as improved dietary practices, regular growth monitoring, and proper hygiene habits. Qualitative data also revealed enhanced motivation and willingness to share knowledge within the community. The findings confirm that PKK members, when equipped with appropriate knowledge and skills, can become effective grassroots health promoters. The program proved effective, acceptable, and replicable, providing a scalable model for similar communities. Continuous mentoring and digital engagement are recommended for long-term sustainability.

Abstract

Evidence on how YouTube contributes to children’s second language (L2) acquisition remains limited, particularly in early childhood settings. This study examines the impact of YouTube and the factors shaping L2 learning among children. Using an exploratory descriptive approach with two participants aged 3 and 5, the study indicates that guided exposure to target-language YouTube content may support incidental gains in vocabulary, common expressions, and context-appropriate language use. Several factors appear to be associated with outcomes: (1) age, with preschoolers showing readiness to uptake novel forms; (2) presentation and input quality, including curated resources and caregiver support; (3) children’s intrinsic motivation to view and imitate; and (4) first-language (L1) influence, which can both facilitate and constrain transfer to L2. The findings suggest that parents and educators should provide active mediation, select developmentally appropriate content, and pair media exposure with offline interaction to enhance the meaningfulness of input. Given the small scale of this study, conclusions should be interpreted cautiously; future research with larger samples and stronger designs is recommended to validate and extend these preliminary insights.
