Abstract

Background. Prehypertension is a classification of blood pressure refere to people with systolic blood pressure (SBP) between 120 and 139 mmHg or diastolic blood pressure (DBP) 80 and 89 mmHg. Studies reported eighty-five percent of prehypertensions have one ormore CVD risk factor compared to normotensions. However, little was known about the epidemiology of prehypertension among young adult in Indonesia.Methods. Analyses were conducted based on 2007 National Health Survey (Riskesdas) with 55,347 people aged 18 to 25 in 33provinces in Indonesia. Results. All demographic parameters but sex showed significant differences between prehypertension and normotension participants. The result of themultivariable logistic regression analysis showed that the geographic area of residence, marital status, education level, occupation, overweight, smoking cessation and daily cigarette use, alcohol consumption, fruit and vegetable consumption, and mental health disorder were revealed to be significant risk factors of prehypertension among young Indonesian adults. Conclusion. These results further underline the need for routine BP measurements in young adults to identify subjects with prehypertension who should be the target of lifestyle modification.Future implications from study result point out the need to prioritize nutrition education which involve psychosocial management and healthy lifestyle promotion among young adult in Indonesia.

Abstract

It is clearly understood that the economic disruption during the COVID-19 outbreak is causing people to lose their income and access to healthy food. Our study aims to investigate people's spending on food and how their daily expenses on cigarettes impact diet quality. We conducted a cross-sectional online survey in April, 2020 and interviews through social media. There were 180 subjects followed in this study. Analysis was conducted using chi-square. It is found that even though our subjects able to access food but their diet quality to have whole food of four food group daily is not adequate. There is significant association between food expenses on whole food and processed food to diet quality (p<0,001). While there is no significant association between smoking behaviours to diet quality (p=0,684) but the percentage of those who smoke 1 to 3 cigarettes and more than 3 cigarettes daily is larger to have poor diet quality rather than people who do not smoke at all. This study concluded household's expenses for cigarettes and food during the COVID-19 pandemic were able to explain whether diet quality is poor or good. The study suggests the government needs to impose smoking restrictions as part of COVID-19 prevention and reassure people's accessibility to nutritious food during this pandemic.

Abstract

Natural disasters, especially landslides, often occur in Bogor City because naturally the contours of the area are at risk of landslides. Dharma Wanita as a social organization can be a driving force for aid when a disaster occurs. However, there has never been any training on disaster response knowledge and skills, especially Psychology First Aid (PFA). PFA training aims to provide capacity knowledge and skills to members of Dharma Wanita to help disaster survivors. The training was delivered through online for 1.5 hours for material on understanding PFA, the purpose and importance of PFA, implementing PFA, stages and methods of PFA, the second 2 hours of practice on the stages and methods of PFA, and evaluating for 30 minutes with question-and-answer quizzes. After that, an offline follow-up was carried out to visit the affected areas. The result, based on the training evaluation, the selected participants were able to explain the questions correctly. Participants were also enthusiastic about following up the training by visiting survivors in disaster-affected areas. However, this training did not measure the participants' PFA skills because this training was carried out after the disaster occurred, so this training did not prepare for landslides at that time.

Abstract

e-Puskesmas is an information system based on data and communication innovation in giving wellbeing administrations which is essential for the benefit of both patients and health care providers. However, the use of e-Puskesmas is still a challenge because some Puskesmas officers have difficulty in using e-Puskesmas. E-Puskesmas was introduced in 2016 and began to be used in Bekasi City Puskesmas in 2019. This study aimed to determine the intensity of e-Puskesmas use as reviewed from sociodemographic and user perception perspectives using the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) concept. This study was a quantitative research with a cross-sectional design. The sampling method used was multistage random sampling, with a sample consisting of 214 health center officers from five health centers. The research instrument used was a Google Forms questionnaire. The data obtained were statistically tested using the chi-square test. The results showed that sociodemographic factors had a significant relationship with the intensity of e-Puskesmas use. In addition, there was a significant relationship between the perceived usefulness variable (0.018), perceived ease of use (0.014), and intensity of e-Puskesmas use.

Abstract

Abstract

The role of PKK members is crucial in promoting health at the family and community levels in Indonesia. This community service project aimed to strengthen the role of 17 PKK members in Jomblangan Village through structured health education and empowerment training. Utilizing a participatory action approach, the program focused on five thematic areas: balanced nutrition, stunting prevention, hygiene and sanitation, maternal and child health, and home-based first aid. Data were collected through pre- and post-tests, observation, and focus group discussions. The average knowledge score increased by 29%, and participants demonstrated behavioral changes such as improved dietary practices, regular growth monitoring, and proper hygiene habits. Qualitative data also revealed enhanced motivation and willingness to share knowledge within the community. The findings confirm that PKK members, when equipped with appropriate knowledge and skills, can become effective grassroots health promoters. The program proved effective, acceptable, and replicable, providing a scalable model for similar communities. Continuous mentoring and digital engagement are recommended for long-term sustainability.
