Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of premium income, underwriting ratio, investment returns, and claims on profit growth. The sampling technique used a purposive sampling method, resulting in a sample of 14 insurance companies that met the criteria. Data analysis techniques used were classical assumption tests, multiple linear regression analysis, coefficient of determination, t-statistical tests, and simultaneous tests. The research results show that premium income and investment returns have a significant positive effect on profit growth. Underwriting and claims ratios did not significantly impact profit growth at insurance companies listed on the IDX in the 2017-2019 period. This study aims to determine the effect of premium income, underwriting ratio, investment returns, and claims on profit growth. The sample consisted of insurance companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange for the 2017-2019 period. The limitations of this study include the presence of outliers that needed to be removed, and the results showed that the independent variables in this study only contributed a small amount to profit growth, namely 33,1%. This research can be used as a reference for further researchers in examining premiums, underwriting ratios, investment returns, and claims in insurance companies.

Abstract

The school zoning system aims to improve equitable access to education; however, its effectiveness largely depends on the spatial distribution and availability of educational facilities. This study analyzes the spatial distribution and zoning evaluation of 17 public senior high schools in Bandar Lampung City based on the 2024 New Student Admission (PPDB) Technical Guidelines. A quantitative approach was employed using Geographic Information Systems (GIS), including geoprocessing and buffering techniques to map service zones. Data were obtained through documentation and field observations, then analyzed using: (1) Nearest Neighbour Analysis (NNA) to identify distribution patterns, and (2) GIS-based buffering to delineate service areas. The results show: (1) the distribution pattern of public senior high schools is random (NNA value = 1 km), indicating uneven spatial distribution; and (2) buffering analysis within 0–3000 meters identifies both served and underserved areas, particularly in suburban regions such as Panjang, Telukbetung Barat, and Sukabumi. The findings conclude that the 3 km zoning radius is not yet optimal in ensuring equitable access across all areas. Policy recommendations include: (1) establishing new school units in underserved regions, (2) adjusting zoning policies based on spatial analysis, and (3) optimizing school transportation. These results emphasize the need to integrate GIS into spatially based educational planning.

Abstract

Water is a basic human need. Population in Rote Regenscy growth up very fast led to increased water demand, but water management does not meet the required quantity. Therefore, research is needed to map groundwater potential for clean water supply for the community. This research was conducted in Boa Village, Rote Barat Distric, Rote Ndao Regency, East Nusa Tenggara. The purpose of this study was to determine the groundwater potential in the aquifer and the lithology type, depth, and thickness of the groundwater aquifer based on the resistivity of the rock types. Data acquisition in this study was conducted using the Schlumberger 1-D geoelectric method. Measurements were taken at three sounding points with a span of 40–50 meters. Based on the results of the 1D Ip2Win data processing, it was determined that the subsurface lithology of the study area consists of top soil, overburden, coral reff, rock , limestone, and sand.

Abstract

Anthracnose caused by Colletotrichum spp. leads to significant losses in bird’s eye chili (Capsicum frutescens L.) production, including reduced fruit quality, lower yield, and increased production costs. Although synthetic pesticides are widely used for disease management, their prolonged application raises concerns regarding environmental sustainability and food safety. This study aimed to evaluate the antifungal potential of citronella essential oil, in both free and nano-encapsulated forms, against Colletotrichum spp. Compared to the previous studies, this work uniquely evaluates and compares nano-encapsulated and non-encapsulated citronella essential oil against anthracnose in bird’s eye chili. The experiment was arranged in a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with treatments consisting of citronella essential oil at concentrations of 0.125% and 0.063%, either encapsulated or non-encapsulated, tested under in vivo and in vitro conditions. Parameters observed were incubation period, disease intensity, inhibition percentage, colony appearance, and hyphal morphology. Data were analyzed using ANOVA at a 5% significance level, followed by Duncan’s Multiple Range Test (DMRT) when significant differences were detected. Application of 0.125% citronella essential oil effectively delayed incubation (6.05 DAI), resulting in a disease intensity of 45%, and achieved the highest in vitro inhibition (92.21%) until 10 DAI, outperforming Propineb 70 WP and other treatments. Colony morphology remained generally similar, but notable differences in hyphal fate were observed, including lysis, shrinkage, curling, and unbranched growth. These findings indicate that citronella essential oil is a promising natural candidate to reduce reliance on Propineb 70 WP. However, further field-scale evaluations are needed.
