Abstract

Dichotomy may be expressed through the languages used on social media. When it comes to Covid-19, a pandemic that began in 2020, the global population is still unfamiliar with the problem and is in the process of adapting through various ideologies and strategies represented on social media. The objective of this research is to identify the dichotomy that surfaced during COVID-19 based on five reports from three YouTube channels. Qualitative discourse analysis was used by the researchers. This research focuses on the opinions of netizens on five reports that were posted on three YouTube channels about COVID-19 between January and May 2020, when Indonesia was enacting a "stay at home" policy. The findings show that comments from netizens fall into two categories. They are comments that support remaining at home to reduce the spread of Covid-19, as well as those that oppose staying at home for economic reasons. Furthermore, the remarks from one categorization overshadow the comments from the other classification. The remarks for each categorization see them as good and the other as wicked. Nonetheless, discourse analysis serves to reinvigorate social activity. As a result, mutual understanding is critical in dealing with this problem.

Abstract

Abstract

Biophilic architecture aims to create an environment that enhances connectivity between humans and nature to improve physical, mental, and emotional well-being. This review analyses 25 recent scientific journals on the application of neuroscience and artificial intelligence (AI) to optimise biophilic architectural design based on the principle of symbiosis. Results show that neuroscience provides valuable insights into human psychophysiological responses to various biophilic elements, while AI enables complex data processing, predictive modelling, and real-time design adaptation. The collaboration of neuroscience and AI can help produce a more effective, responsive to human needs, and sustainable biophilic environment. On the other hand, flexibility is demonstrated by the breadth of the architectural design process phases that can be reached through this collaboration. However, methodological and ethical challenges must be addressed to ensure responsible application.

Abstract

The development of electric vehicles in Indonesia has grown rapidly, supported by the Indonesian Electric Car Competition (KMLI) which encourages innovation in designing lightweight yet strong vehicle frames. The tubular space frame of the “Megathrust Electric” car previously used ASTM A36 steel with a total weight of 32 kg, which was considered inefficient as it increased power consumption and reduced overall performance. This study aims to analyze the effect of pipe dimension variations and alternative materials, namely Aluminium alloy 6061 and 6063, on the strength and deformation of the frame. The method employed is Finite Element Analysis (FEA) using SolidWorks software under static loading conditions that represent real operating scenarios. The pipe variations examined include 19.05 mm diameter with 2.5 mm thickness and 25.4 mm diameter with 2 mm thickness. The simulation results show that the 25.4 × 2 mm Aluminium alloy 6061 configuration provides the best structural performance with a maximum stress of 55.07 MPa, deformation of 1.583 mm, and a safety factor (FOS) of 5.012. In contrast, the 19.05 × 2.5 mm Aluminium alloy 6063 configuration is lighter but exhibits higher stress (184.4 MPa) and a lower safety factor (1.161). Therefore, the Aluminium Alloy 6061 pipe with 25.4 mm diameter is recommended as the optimal frame design, offering a balance between strength, stiffness, and weight efficiency to support the performance of electric vehicles in competition.

Abstract

Based on the results of observations and literature studies, it is evident that many students struggle to understand the concept of area. Most of them only memorize formulas. Additionally, many students have limited knowledge of the local culture. This study aims to develop interactive digital media based on local culture, specifically in the form of batik patterns, utilizing local materials. The research method used is Research and Development (R&D), employing the ADDIE method, which consists of Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation. The study's results stated that, according to the validator or media expert, the percentage was 92.86%, categorized as very feasible. The expert provided a percentage of 85.71%, which falls into the very feasible range. The results of the dissemination indicated that the students' responses also showed the media to be very appropriate, with a percentage of 89.64%. The teachers' responses, meanwhile, showed a percentage of 93.75%, which fell within the very feasible category—results of the Wilcoxon Test analysis using the signed rank method. The test shows a p-value of 7.45 × 10^(-9)< 0.05. It can be concluded that there is a significant increase in pre-test and post-test scores. The median score increased from 65.5 (IQR = 9.25) in the pre-test to 77.0 (IQR = 9.75) in the post-test, indicating an overall improvement in student performance. Furthermore, the calculated effect size (r = 0.85) suggests a large practical impact, confirming that the use of the interactive digital module with batik motifs substantially enhanced students’ conceptual understanding of area.

Abstract

English has been taught in early years of school and become one of the main course in the school based on the need of global society while not every school is able to offer the course due to the lack of qualified teachers. The evaluation needed in the learning process face a difficulty in which due to the lack of qualified teachers, is only capable of doing test and not evaluation. Based on the phenomena, this research is conducted to find a new method of evaluating English course by using language tools software that can be used by non-English teacher in accurate and valid evaluation and projected to modernised evaluation process in English course and able to support distance learning. The research employs quantitative analysis in a series of four data collections and analyses involving four participants over the time of 3 months. This research is further supported by language analysis from language expert as a secondary instrument to validate the result of the analysis from the main instrument, P_LEX language tools. The result of the research shows that language tools is valid as a supporting device for evaluating language performance as the result of the language analysis is in parallel to the analysis of language expert.
