Abstract

Bagore plant (Caesalpinia crista L.) belongs to the tribe Leguminosae and grows wild on the coast. Standardization is important to guarantee potency uniformity benefits by ensuring the concentration of active ingredients through qualitative analysis of secondary metabolites, ensuring the safety and stability aspects of extracts and increasing the economic value of extracts by various analyses such as specific and non-specific parameters. This study aims to standardization bagore seed extract (Caesalpinia crista L.) and determine the value of specific and non-specific parameters of. Samples were obtained from Binuang District, Polewali Mandar Regency, West Sulawesi Province, macerated with 96% ethanol then standardized with specific and non-specific parameters. The results of the study obtained specific parameter values as follows; organoleptic tests obtained extracts in the form of viscous, light brown in color, characteristic smell and very bitter taste; The content of soluble compounds in water is 14.361%; the content of soluble compounds in ethanol is 15.708%; positively contains flavanoid compounds, alkaloids and saponins; and the value of non-specific parameters as follows: drying shrinkage which is 0.439%; specific weight of 0.859 grams; moisture content of 2.589%; total ash content of 4.216%, insoluble ash content of acid which is 0.630%; The mold number is < 1.0 x 101 colonies/ml and the yeast is < 1.0 101 colonies/ml; lead metal contamination (Pb) is 0.003 g / g and cadmium (Cd) is 0.01 g / g. Research shows bagore seed extract (Caesalpinia crista L.) provides results according to the general standard parameters of medicinal plant extracts. Abstract

Indonesia's biodiversity that exists around its community environment has been used for generations as a food and medicinal ingredient, one of which is temulawak (Curcuma xanthorriza.). Temulawak is used as a raw material for herbal aches and pains because it is efficacious to help reduce or eliminate inflammatory diseases in the body such as arthritis. The purpose of this study was to identify the presence of curcuma content in several aching and rheumatic herbs using an experimental design. The method used was a qualitative test using thin layer chromatography (TLC) with n-hexane -acetone as the mobile phase (6:4). The results of TLC observations at 254 nm and 366 nm UV lamps showed yellow spots on the comparator temulawak simplicia and the Rf value of the curcuma simplicia was 0.690. The results of the identification of the five samples of herbal medicine stiff and sore by TLC proved to contain temulawak simplicia.

Abstract

Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat ini melibatkan mitra Kelompok PKK Desa Tamangapa, yang memiliki program yaitu budidaya Tanaman Obat Keluarga (TOGA) fokus pada tanaman sambiloto. Namun program tersebut belum maksimal terlaksana sebab masih kurangnya pengetahuan mitra tentang tanaman obat yang dikembangkan. Tujuan kegiatan pengabdian ini adalah memberikan tambahan pengetahuan meningkatkan ketahanan kesehatan keluarga melalui pemanfaatan tanaman herbal sambiloto yang disertai keterampilan mengolah tanaman sambiloto menjadi minuman instan Ewaco Sambiloto sebagai minuman kesehatan keluarga. Pelaksanaan kegiatan pengabdian dilakukan dua tahap yaitu penyampaian tentang manfaat dan cara penggunaan tumbuhan sambiloto terkait dengan kesehatan keluarga dan pelatihan cara membuat minuman instan Ewaco Sambiloto dalam kemasan yang menarik dan higenis. Pengumpulan data secara kualitatif melalui diskusi dan hasil evaluasi pelatihan, secara kuantitatif melalui pengisian kuisioner tentang manfaat tanaman sambiloto terhadap kesehatan dan kuisioner tentang produk minuman instan Ewaco Sambiloto. Hasil kegiatan dapat mendukung terlaksanannya program TOGA dan meningkatkan ketahanan kesehatan keluarga masyarakat Desa Tamangapa.
