Abstract

For a variety of indoor activities, humans require artificial lighting, particularly for the activities that need for a task lighting which have focused lighting. Initially, the majority of task lighting design in massive shape and made from manufacturing materials such as metal and frosted glass, which were effective as light reflectors by directing light towards a specific spot in the area that needed to be illuminated. The task lighting cap design has evolved during its development to emphasize the aesthetic qualities of craftsmanship, both in terms of a shape that is no longer massive and using of natural materials that are simpler to procure and manufacture. This frequently results in a change from task lighting to general lighting. In order to restores the right function of task lighting, this experiment was done and the result is products of task lighting with craft aesthetic value that can also be manufactured into effective light reflectors. Bamboo and shells were chosen as the materials that could most closely approximate the quality of metal and frosted glass as light reflectors capable of concentrating lighting at one point in the area in accordance with their function as task lighting through the use of experimental methods from a variety of craft materials that were still possible to form lamp cap. Although bamboo and shell materials, which are made of natural materials, these still have a weak point in lux if compared to manufactured materials cause they have a small amount of absorption, but this can be fixed by changing the lumens of light source.

Abstract

ABSTRACT Bali Aga architecture is the second oldest architecture in Bali lasted the 8th to 13th century which there were two important events that brought acculturation impact: the arrival of Resi Markandeya came from India who brought Budha Mahayana belief and Empu Kuturan came from East Java who brought Hindu belief. Before those, Bali Aga community had a cosmological ideology as their belief and still visible in every thought, behavior and artifacts including their housing. This qualitative research is performed uses ethnography method to be able to trace the representa- tion of cosmological ideology, especially in the form of local housing. The result of this study describes some cosmological ideologies of community in each Bali Aga villages cannot regarded as the same be- cause it influenced by each local wisdom. However, the diversity has the same value, idea and purpose to put the universe as the main orientation. Bali Aga community’s submission to the universe makes their housing are able to survive with their identity until now.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the transformation of the meaning of Toraja ornament, particularly, Pa’ Barre Allo motive, using Jakarta Dharmawangsa Tator café Square as the primary data. This study employs Hermeneutics theory by Paul Ricoeur stating that it explains about the rules of the interpretation of texts, signs, and symbols. Moreover, this research discusses about how the traditional Toraja ornament is applied in modern commercial space. Toraja ornament, having sacred meaning traditionally, shifts its meaning as it is implemented in café interior elements of the public spaces. It means that the ornament does not only function as aesthetic elements, but it also has great values, representing the sensibility of Toraja culture on commercial interior design. Furthermore, this study reveals about the application of Pa’ Barre Allo motive on café Tator transforming its sacred meaning to aesthetic elements in order to strengthen the attraction and brand identity of the space of the café. The results of this research are expected to enhance the comprehension of the transformation of the cultural values in commercial interior design. Finally, they can contribute to the preservation of Indonesian history and culture

Abstract

Comfort and safety in the driver's seat of a military vehicle are crucial aspects in supporting operational effectiveness. The Anoa 2 6x6 Panzer is a combat vehicle used by the Indonesian National Army (TNI) with its main function as an armored personnel carrier. However, several studies show that ergonomic aspects in wheelhouse design still need to be optimized to reduce the risk of musculoskeletal disorders (Musculoskeletal Disorders/MSDs) on the driver. This study uses the Nordic Body Map (NBM) method to evaluate the comfort level and potential risk of injury due to the driver's working posture during vehicle operation. Data was collected through questionnaires filled out by 21 Anoa 2 6x6 Panzer drivers who were actively on duty in the field. The research results show that the lower back, shoulders, neck and wrist areas are the parts of the body that experience the most complaints due to less ergonomic chair design, pedal position and control layout. Based on these results, recommendations for a more ergonomic design were prepared to reduce the driver's physical workload and increase comfort in operating the Anoa 2 6x6 Panzer

Abstract
