Abstract

This study aims to develop and evaluate the effectiveness of Virtual Field Trip (VFT) learning media for Wasathiyah Islam material at SMK Pancasila Mojowarno, Jombang, East Java. The research employed a Research and Development (R&D) approach using the Dick and Carey model. The development stages included identifying learning objectives, conducting learning analysis, analyzing student characteristics, formulating specific goals, developing the product, designing learning strategies, preparing test items, conducting evaluations, revising the product, and performing summative evaluation. Data were collected through interviews, observations, questionnaires, and documentation. The instruments used included validation questionnaires for media and material experts employing a Likert scale, as well as pretest and posttest to measure effectiveness. Data were analyzed using both qualitative and quantitative descriptive techniques. Results revealed that the developed VFT media obtained a “Very Feasible” rating from media experts (91%) and material experts (86%). Effectiveness testing indicated a notable improvement in student achievement, with mean scores increasing from 60 on the pretest to 90 on the posttest, resulting in an N-Gain value of 0.8 categorized as high. In addition, students’ responses toward the implementation of VFT media were highly positive, with 95% in the “Very Good” category. Therefore, VFT media is effective in enhancing learning outcomes and motivation.

Abstract

The development of technology-based learning media in the Islamic Cultural History (SKI) subject is necessary to increase students’ engagement and understanding in the learning process. This study aims to determine the feasibility and effectiveness of Slidesgo-based learning media with a deep learning approach on the topic of Caliph Umar bin Khattab at MAN 9 Jombang. This study used a Research and Development (R&D) method with the ADDIE model, involving 30 Grade X students selected through simple random sampling. Data were collected through questionnaires, observation, interviews, documentation, pre-test, and post-test, and were then analyzed using a Likert scale and N-Gain. The results showed that material expert validation obtained a score of 88% and media expert validation obtained a score of 95%, both of which were in the highly feasible category. In addition, the average N-Gain score of 0.70 indicated that the developed learning media was fairly effective in improving students’ learning outcomes. Students’ responses were also in the good to very good category. These findings strengthen Richard Mayer’s multimedia learning theory, which states that the integration of text, images, audio, and visuals can support the improvement of students’ understanding. The conclusion of this study affirms that Slidesgo-based learning media with a deep learning approach is feasible and effective for use in SKI learning and is able to create a more interactive and meaningful learning process.

Abstract

This study is motivated by the low level of student understanding regarding religious character values in Islamic Religious Education (PAI), despite the implementation of the Kurikulum Merdeka. The objective of the research is to examine the planning and assess the effectiveness of a PAI teaching module integrated with national religious character values for Phase F at SMA PGRI 2 Jombang. The study employs a Research and Development (R&D) method using the 4D model (Define, Design, Develop, Disseminate). The define stage includes needs analysis, learner characteristics, and content analysis; the design stage involves formulating learning objectives, developing assessment instruments, and designing the module format; while the develop stage includes expert validation and field trials. Validation results show that the module is valid, with scores of 78% from practitioner experts, 89% from content experts, and 100% from module reviewers. Small- and large-scale trials demonstrate increased learning effectiveness, with an N-Gain score of 17.32%. The study concludes that the developed teaching module is effective in enhancing students’ understanding and religious attitudes and is suitable for use in character-based PAI instruction. The findings emphasize the importance of developing contextual teaching materials that integrate religious character values into the national curriculum to cultivate morally upright and nationally conscious generations.
