Abstract

Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) play an important role in Indonesia's economic growth, but often face challenges in operational efficiency. This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of the Lean Manufacturing training program for MSME owners in Bandung Regency. The methods used include material delivery, interactive discussions, and mentoring in waste identification. The evaluation results showed an increase in participant understanding from an average of 45% in the pre-test to 80% in the post-test, with a significant increase in understanding the concepts of waste elimination, Just-In-Time, and Kaizen. Despite the challenges in implementation, participants showed a commitment to implementing Lean principles gradually. Recommendations for further training and mentoring programs are proposed to support the sustainability of Lean Manufacturing implementation in MSMEs.

Abstract

The rapid growth of e-commerce in Indonesia has increased the strategic role of e-logistics services in shaping customer experience and competitiveness, particularly in West Java as one of the largest logistics markets. This study aims to examine the effect of e-logistics service quality on customer loyalty, with customer satisfaction as a mediating variable. A quantitative research approach was employed using a survey method. Data were collected from 200 e-logistics service users in West Java through structured questionnaires and analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling–Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS) with SmartPLS 4.0. The results reveal that e-logistics service quality has a positive and significant effect on customer satisfaction. Customer satisfaction also has a positive and significant effect on customer loyalty. However, e-logistics service quality does not directly influence customer loyalty. Further analysis confirms that customer satisfaction fully mediates the relationship between e-logistics service quality and customer loyalty. These findings indicate that improving service quality alone is insufficient to foster customer loyalty unless it is translated into perceived satisfaction. This study highlights the strategic role of customer satisfaction as a key mechanism linking service quality and loyalty in the e-logistics context. The results provide theoretical contributions to service quality and loyalty models in digital logistics, as well as practical implications for e-logistics providers and e-commerce platforms in designing customer-oriented service strategies to enhance long-term customer retention in West Java.

Abstract

During the period of January until December 2024, West Java was the province with the highest export value, reaching USD 37,872.3 million. Nevertheless, West Java still possesses a significant export potential that must be elaborated on by all stakeholders. This study aims to elaborate on the government’s strategies to increase the export volume of SMEs in Bandung City. The study employs a qualitative approach with a descriptive research design. The qualitative approach was chosen because this research seeks to gain an in-depth understanding of the government’s strategies in promoting the growth of SME exports in Bandung City amid global challenges. Data analysis techniques was conducted using Nvivo software. The results indicate that there are six critical aspects that the government must consider to enhance exports: training and regulations, institutional support and mentoring, technical and logistical facilities, promotional media, trade diplomacy, market access, as well as collaboration and networking.

Abstract

West Java Province has 3.88 million people living in poverty (7.89%), placing significant demands on social institutions such as Lazismu to distribute aid swiftly, accurately, and accountably. However, Lazismu's regional Service Offices (KL) continue to face operational challenges including distribution delays, duplicate beneficiary data, weak inter-unit coordination, and limited human resource capacity. This community service activity aimed to strengthen the capacity of KL Lazismu personnel through lean management training to achieve more efficient and targeted aid distribution. The methodology encompassed field observation, value stream mapping, interactive training through a problem-based learning approach, and evaluation via pre-test and post-test instruments. The training involved 16 Lazismu scholarship recipients from Universitas 'Aisyiyah Bandung. Evaluation results revealed an average comprehension improvement of 28.7%, surpassing the minimum target of 20%. The highest gains were recorded in amil primary duties (40%), followed by lean management (36%), and communication competency (36%). Two aspects reached perfect scores of 100%: the principles of trust and transparency, and amil communication competency. These findings demonstrate that lean management training is effective in building the competency of zakat institution personnel while establishing a strong foundation for the operational transformation of aid distribution toward greater efficiency, transparency, and measurable social impact.

Abstract

Traditional markets in Indonesia consistently rank as the second-largest contributor to national solid waste, yet the management problem remains unresolved despite over a decade of intensive empirical research. In Bandung Metropolitan Area, at least twelve empirical studies were conducted between 2014 and 2025, yet field conditions show no significant improvement, indicating systemic and multidimensional failure. This study synthesizes evidence from these twelve studies to map existing conditions, identify key actors, and analyze the gap dimensions that explain why this failure persists. This study employs a scoping review design, with reporting guided by PRISMA-ScR. Studies were identified through systematic searches conducted on Google Scholar, SINTA, Garuda, and Scopus, and the synthesis employed a three-tiered thematic analysis. The synthesis identifies five mutually reinforcing gap dimensions: a technical-operational gap (infrastructure non-compliance); a behavioral-awareness gap (low environmental literacy among vendors); a participation-incentive gap (passive participation absent behavior-changing incentives); a governance-coordination gap (fragmented multi-stakeholder operations, no permanent collaborative institutions); and an institutional-regulatory gap (persistent misalignment between regulation and operational implementation). Failures across Bandung Raya metropolitan area cannot be attributed to any single factor but to the systemic interaction of all five dimensions. These findings call for integrated and simultaneous intervention strategies and provide a roadmap for a more effective research and policy agenda.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of service digitalization and cashless payment on operational efficiency from the perspective of Millennial and Generation Z consumers. A quantitative approach was employed using Structural Equation Modeling-Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS). The sample consisted of 200 respondents consisting of Millennial and Gen Z consumers in West Java who actively use digital services and cashless payment systems. Outer model testing results confirmed that all research instruments satisfied convergent validity (loading factor > 0.70; AVE > 0.50), discriminant validity, and reliability (Cronbach's Alpha and Composite Reliability> 0.70). Inner model results revealed that service digitalization had a positive and significant effect on operational efficiency with a path coefficient of 0.597 (T-statistic = 7.501; p = 0.000), while cashless payment also showed a positive and significant effect with a path coefficient of 0.313 (T-statistic = 3.682; p = 0.000). An R² value of 0.758 indicates that both variables collectively explain 75.8% of the variation in operational efficiency. Service digitalization proved to be the more dominant predictor with a large effect size (f² = 0.501) compared to cashless payment (f² = 0.137). The novelty of this study lies in its simultaneous examination of both service digitalization and cashless payment as co-determinants of consumer-perceived operational efficiency within a generational comparative framework an approach that remains underexplored in the extant literature. These findings provide empirical evidence that increased adoption of digital service technology and cashless payment systems significantly enhances the perceived operational efficiency of young consumers in the digital era. Future research is encouraged to address the current generational sampling imbalance (Gen Z: 69.5%; Millennials: 30.5%) and expand geographic coverage beyond West Java.
