Abstract

Intercultural communication is key in shaping national identity, especially for migrant children growing up in multicultural environments. This study aims to uncover the effectiveness of intercultural communication strategies in shaping the national identity of Indonesian migrant children in Malaysia. Through a qualitative approach, this study found that the Hulu Kelang Guidance Center (SBHK) has successfully implemented various innovative strategies. Active participation in activities related to the Indonesian language and culture significantly enhances the sense of pride in the national identity of migrant children. This study provides a new contribution by identifying the key factors that influence the success of intercultural communication strategies in the context of non-formal education for migrant children. This finding could serve as a foundation for the development of more effective non-formal education programs that facilitate the social and cultural integration of migrant children.

Abstract

The adoption of Electronic Medical Records (EMR) has become an essential transformation in healthcare to enhance service efficiency and data accuracy. However, the successful implementation of EMR significantly depends on user acceptance, particularly among hospital administrative staff. This study aimed to evaluate EMR adoption at RS PKU Muhammadiyah Gombong using the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM), focusing on perceived usefulness (PU), perceived ease of use (PEOU), and behavioral intention (BI). A qualitative descriptive approach was employed through structured interviews, direct observations, and document analysis. The results showed that 75% of staff acknowledged improved efficiency and accuracy, yet 30% experienced workflow disruptions due to technical issues. Additionally, 60% found the system easy to use after training, but 25% struggled with document uploads. Major challenges included system downtime, connectivity issues, and storage limitations, with 50% of staff reporting these barriers. Training deficiencies were noted by 20% of respondents, highlighting the need for continuous learning initiatives. Management support played a vital role in implementation success, yet ongoing assistance remained necessary. Addressing technical constraints, refining training programs, and strengthening managerial engagement are crucial for optimizing EMR adoption.

Abstract

Purpose: This research investigates how media--especially social media and artificial intelligence (AI)--help older adults overcome psychological and social challenges associated with Post Retirement Syndrome. It aims to understand how digital platforms address communication difficulties in retirement. By examining media usage and AI-assisted interactions, the study explores how technology enhances emotional well-being and promotes social integration in the post-retirement phase of life. Methods: This research employed a qualitative method to analyze the media behavior of retirees through interviews and field observations. Older adults in Bandung were selected using a maximum variation sampling strategy to reflect diverse occupational backgrounds. Bandung was chosen due to its demographic makeup, which includes a growing population of retirees with varying levels of digital engagement, making it an ideal setting to examine the relationship between media use, aging, and retirement experiences. Findings: The findings indicate that social media--particularly Facebook and WhatsApp--has become a transformative tool in addressing Post-Retirement Syndrome. These platforms help older adults maintain social connections, share experiences, and engage with supportive communities. With the help of AI, seniors can more effectively identify and interact with relevant groups, tailoring digital experiences to personal needs and fostering meaningful relationships. Originality: Although much research focuses on interpersonal communication in the elderly, few studies explore how media and AI act as bridges for retirees to reconstruct self-concept and build resilience through social media.

Abstract

AbstractNonverbal communication plays a crucial role in social interactions, especially in educational settingsfor students with special needs at Sekolah Luar Biasa (SLB) Negeri Jenangan Ponorogo. This studyaims to explore the effectiveness of nonverbal communication used by teachers in delivering lessonmaterials to students with verbal communication limitations. This research employs a descriptivemethod with a qualitative approach. Data collection techniques include interviews, observations,literature studies, and documentation. The informants in this study consist of the head of SLB NegeriJenangan Ponorogo, a third-grade teacher, and a fifth-grade student with an intellectual disability(who is still able to communicate well). The data analysis techniques involve data reduction, datapresentation, and drawing conclusions. The findings reveal that nonverbal communication, such asfacial expressions and hand gestures, significantly aids in enhancing students' understanding andengagement. Additionally, nonverbal communication contributes to building emotional connectionsbetween teachers and students, which is crucial for children with special needs. Various barriers inverbal and nonverbal communication were identified, which can affect the learning process. This studyemphasizes that a combination of verbal and nonverbal communication supports the learning process,and teachers in SLB must adapt their teaching methods to meet the diverse needs of their students.These findings provide valuable insights for developing more effective teaching strategies in specialeducation schools.Keywords: Teacher-student interaction; nonverbal communication; communication strategic; studentswith special needs. AbstrakKomunikasi nonverbal memiliki peran penting dalam interaksi sosial, terutama di lingkunganpendidikan bagi siswa berkebutuhan khusus di Sekolah Luar Biasa (SLB) Negeri Jenangan Ponorogo.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengeksplorasi efektivitas komunikasi nonverbal yang digunakan olehguru dalam menyampaikan materi pelajaran kepada siswa dengan keterbatasan komunikasi verbal.Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif dengan pendekatan kualitatif. Teknik pengumpulan datayang digunakan melalui wawancara, observasi, studi pustaka dan dokumentasi. Informan padapenelitian ini adalah kepala SLB Negeri Jenangan Ponorogo, guru pengampu kelas 3 SD, dan salahsatu siswa SLB Negeri Jenangan Ponorogo yang memiliki disabilitas tunagrahita (tetapi masih dapatberkomunikasi dengan baik) yang sedang menempuh di bangku kelas 5 SD. Teknik analisis datamelalui reduksi data, penyajian data, penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwakomunikasi nonverbal, seperti ekspresi wajah dan isyarat tangan, sangat membantu dalammeningkatkan pemahaman dan keterlibatan siswa. Selain itu, komunikasi nonverbal juga berkontribusidalam membangun hubungan emosional antara guru dan siswa, yang sangat penting bagi anak-anakdengan kebutuhan khusus. Berbagai hambatan dalam komunikasi verbal dan nonverbal teridentifikasidapat memegaruhi proses pembelajaran. Penelitian ini menegaskan bahwa kombinasi antarakomunikasi verbal dan nonverbal saling mendukung dalam proses pembelajaran, dan guru di SLBharus mengadaptasi metode pengajaran mereka untuk memenuhi kebutuhan siswa yang beragam.Temuan ini memberikan wawasan berharga bagi pengembangan strategi pengajaran yang lebih efektifdi SLB.Kata-kata kunci: Interaksi guru dan siswa; komunikasi nonverbal; strategi komunikasi; siswaberkebutuhan khusus.

Abstract

This study aims to identify and analyze strategies for strengthening character education at SD Negeri Planjan 01 Kesugihan that are relevant to be applied to elementary school children in an effort to build a generation with noble character. Character education at the elementary school level has a fundamental role in laying the foundation for moral and ethical values for the further development of students. This study uses a qualitative approach through a literature review of various studies and related concepts. The data collection instruments in this study used questionnaires, observations and documentation and were then analyzed. The analysis includes the integration of character values in the curriculum, positive behavioral habits, utilization of learning media, the role of role models, and the potential for implementing innovative character education concepts. The subjects in this study included students, teachers and parents of students at SD Negeri Planjan 01 Kesugihan.Based on the results of initial observations conducted, there are still many students who show bad behavior, such as lack of manners in speaking with friends and teachers, and frequent disharmony during class hours. In the context of character education, the role of teachers is very important as idolized figures, as well as being a source of inspiration and motivation. The teacher's attitude and behavior will be very memorable for a student, so that the character, speech, and personality of the teacher become a reflection of the student. Teachers who are worthy of being role models, character education will be easy to build in an educational institution or school. Development in character formation requires exemplary behavior that is transmitted, intervention through the learning process, training, continuous habituation in the long term that is carried out continuously and reinforcement, and must be balanced with noble values.

Abstract

Perkembangan teknologi informasi dan komunikasi yang semakin pesat telah mempengaruhi tatanan sosial masyarakat. Fenomena berkembangnya kecerdasan buatan atau yang dikenal dengan istilah Artificial Intellegence (AI) telah mengubah banyak aspek dalam kehidupan manusia. Produksi konten menggunakan AI telah mengubah cara berkomunikasi manusia. Hal tersebut semakin tampak pada level komunikasi interpersonal sebagai dasar interaksi sesama manusia sebagai makhluk sosial. Sejalan dengan perkembangan AI yang semakin pesat, hal ini merupakan tantangan tersendiri bagi kajian komunikasi dalam melihat pergeseran yang timbul. Oleh karenanya, artikel ini bermaksud menggali bagaimana AI sebagai sebuah kemajuan teknologi mampu memengaruhi komunikasi interpersonal dengan menganalisa peran AI sebagai fasilitator komunikasi melalui platform digital pesan instan, media sosial hingga asisten virtual. Melalui telaah literatur dengan basis data elsevier dan google scolar, buku cetak maupun elektronik serta sumber penunjang lainnya, Makalah ini mendeskripsikan evolusi komunikasi interpersonal sebagai bagian dari adaptasi terhadap perubahan teknologi komunikasi. Berbeda dengan teknologi pendahulunya yang hanya berperan sebagai saluran komunikasi, AI merupakan teknologi yang mampu menggeser peran komunikator dalam komunikasi interpersonal.

Abstract

Sistem kecerdasan buatan (AI) telah menunjukkan potensi besar dalam transformasi komunikasi organisasi. Artikel ini membahas implementasi sistem cerdas berbasis AI dalam konteks komunikasi organisasi dan menganalisis tantangan serta peluang yang terkait. Pertama, artikel ini menguraikan konsep dasar kecerdasan buatan dan memberikan pemahaman tentang bagaimana penerapannya dapat mempengaruhi komunikasi organisasi. Dalam hal ini, sistem cerdas dapat mencakup teknologi seperti pemrosesan bahasa alami, analisis sentimen, dan chatbot cerdas yang mampu berinteraksi dengan pemangku kepentingan organisasi. Namun, implementasi sistem cerdas dalam komunikasi organisasi juga menghadapi tantangan yang perlu diatasi. Tantangan ini meliputi aspek teknis, seperti kebutuhan akan data yang berkualitas dan infrastruktur yang memadai. Selain itu, sumber daya manusia dan pengetahuan yang diperlukan untuk mengelola sistem cerdas juga menjadi kendala. Selanjutnya, keamanan dan privasi data merupakan isu yang penting dalam mengimplementasikan sistem cerdas dalam komunikasi organisasi. Meskipun tantangan tersebut ada, implementasi sistem cerdas juga menawarkan peluang yang signifikan dalam meningkatkan komunikasi organisasi. Sistem cerdas dapat meningkatkan efisiensi dan personalisasi komunikasi, memungkinkan analisis data yang lebih baik, dan memberikan interaksi yang lebih responsif dengan pemangku kepentingan. Peluang ini dapat menghasilkan komunikasi yang lebih efektif, meningkatkan pengalaman pemangku kepentingan, dan memperkuat citra dan reputasi organisasi. Dalam konteks strategis, implementasi sistem cerdas dalam komunikasi organisasi juga berdampak pada perubahan budaya organisasi. Proses komunikasi organisasi juga perlu direstrukturisasi agar sesuai dengan kebutuhan sistem cerdas. Artikel ini juga memberikan tinjauan literatur tentang penggunaan kecerdasan buatan dalam komunikasi organisasi dan mengidentifikasi arah penelitian yang dapat dijelajahi di masa depan.

Abstract

This research is research that studies Public Relations (PR) in communication science. Brand Image is part of PR science which contains the steps and methods for creating branding, of course adapted to the object. The object this time is Ngilo-Ilo Village which is located in Slahung sub-district, Ponorogo Regency. Using the Branding Image Theory proposed by Satori and Komariah which states the stages by means of SWOT analysis and also mapping village potential. The results obtained are that Ngilo-Ilo Village has carried out SWOT efforts and village mapping has also been carried out, but there are still obstacles. Some of the obstacles were found in terms of natural resources, irrigation conditions which were still quite difficult and also weaknesses, namely related to the village Reyog event, which was felt to be lacking. The solution is to create deep infiltration wells which are useful for irrigating rice fields and also for the clean water needs of local residents. Then, regarding village Reyog events which are felt to be lacking, the suggestion is to be more active in carrying out more village event activities by collaborating with local Reyog artists to develop Reyog art even more optimally by prioritizing Reyog crafts from Ngilo-Ilo village

Abstract

Strategi marketing yang digunakan setiap perusahaan tentu berbeda dalam menarik minat konsumen untuk menggunakan jasa yang disediakan setiap perusahaan, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui bagaimana strategi marketing public relation yang diterapkan oleh PT. Citra Mentari Mandiri dalam meningkatkan jumlah pembelian perumahan. Penelitian ini dilakukan di PT. Citra Mentari Mandiri, metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan data kualitatif deskriptif. Penelitian ini dimaksudkan untuk mengetahui bagaimana strategi yang diterapkan oleh perusahaan agar terus menjaga eksistensi perusahaan untuk mencapai jumlah pendapatan, dalam penelian ini mengidentifikasi proses marketing public relations pada perusahaan dengan menggunakan marketing mix 9P dan strategi peningkatan jumlah pembeli perumahan menggunakan 3 komponen pull, push dan pass untuk meningkatkan marketing public relations.

Abstract

Pada era digital yang berkembang pesat, penggunaan kecerdasan buatan (AI) telah menjadi bagian integral dalam berbagai aspek kehidupan, termasuk dalam penulisan ilmiah. Namun, kemajuan teknologi ini juga menimbulkan tantangan baru terkait pelanggaran etika akademik. Artikel ini membahas pelaksanaan pengabdian kepada masyarakat yang berfokus pada pencegahan pelanggaran etika penulisan ilmiah di kalangan mahasiswa dengan memanfaatkan AI secara etis. Melalui workshop yang dilakukan, mahasiswa diberikan pemahaman tentang pentingnya penggunaan AI sebagai alat bantu dalam penulisan akademik tanpa melanggar standar etika yang telah ditetapkan. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan peningkatan kesadaran mahasiswa mengenai etika akademik dalam penggunaan AI serta kemampuan mereka untuk memanfaatkan teknologi secara tepat guna dalam penulisan ilmiah. Implikasi dari kegiatan ini adalah pentingnya integrasi pendidikan etika dalam penggunaan AI di lingkungan akademik guna memastikan bahwa teknologi digunakan untuk mendukung, bukan merusak, integritas akademik.
