Abstract

The purpose of this study is to explore the existence of knowledge inertia as an antecedent of creating individual competitiveness for nascent entrepreneurs and mature entrepreneurs. As well as what are the differences between nascent and mature entrepreneurs regarding mastery of knowledge and facts regarding the existence of knowledge inertia. This research uses a qualitative method using the comparative case studies method which aims to obtain a clear picture of a problem, which focuses on collecting data or information on objects. The results of the research findings and the results of the analysis of Project Map NVivo 12 plus, nascent entrepreneurs are more likely to experience inertia due to limited capital, limited human resources, fear of trying new things, lack of business relationships, lack of employee competency, and limited experience because they are still beginners in running their business. Meanwhile, mature entrepreneurs have a smaller tendency of inertia compared to nascent entrepreneurs. This is because as an old player and more experienced in maintaining the stability of its business so that it focuses more on maintaining its competitive position by having to be able to adapt to the times to achieve competitive advantage.

Abstract

Digital transformation has changed the pattern of transactions in society, thus encouraging banks to make digital-based services part of their business strategy. This encourages increased competition in the financial services industry. For that, PT. Bank Nagari needs to identify and develop a business model so that Nagari Mobile Banking services can become a competitive advantage. Where, a good understanding of the business environment will enable companies to evaluate or even develop potential business models going forward. The Business Model Canvas is a business model mapping method that can provide an overview of how a company is able to provide value (value proposition) for its customers. This business model framework consists of 9 (nine) key elements, namely Customer Segments, Value Propositions, Channels, Customer Relationships, Revenue Streams, Key Resources, Key Activities, Key Partnerships, and Cost Structure. The results showed that the Nagari Mobile Banking service needed to develop the Value Proposition, Customer Relationship, Customer Segment, Channel, Key Activities, Key Partners, and Key Resources blocks, while the Cost Structure and Revenue Streams blocks did not experience development.

Abstract

Every activity carried out in an organization requires human resources to run the organization so that it can continue to grow and develop to achieve the goals that have been set. Employees as human resources in an organization, with all their competencies or abilities and knowledge tend to be able to understand their responsibilities to carry out and complete their tasks well. In addition to competence, every organization also needs employees who have good work discipline. This study aims to determine the effect of leadership style and organizational commitment on work discipline with job satisfaction as a mediator.The method used in this study is explanatory research. The population in this study were employees of PT. Mulya Rezkina Sejahtera totaling 120 people. This study uses Partial Least Square in analyzing the data. The results of this study are that leadership style and organizational commitment have a positive and significant effect on job satisfaction. Job satisfaction has a negative and insignificant effect on work discipline. Leadership style and organizational commitment have a positive and significant effect on work discipline. Leadership style is moderated by job satisfaction has a negative and insignificant effect on work discipline. Organizational commitment is moderated by job satisfaction has a negative and insignificant effect on work discipline.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi determinan keberhasilan dan kegagalan suksesi pada perusahaan keluarga di Kabupaten Padang Pariaman (entrepreurs generasi 2 dan 3). Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode fenomenologi, yang memungkinkan peneliti untuk mengeksplorasi fenomena melalui subjektivitas dan keterampilan interpersonal mereka. Informan dipilih melalui teknik purposive sampling, di mana peneliti memilih sampel yang memenuhi kriteria tertentu yang relevan dengan fenomena yang diteliti. Data yang digunakan adalah data primer yang diperoleh melalui wawancara dengan 18 entrepreuner generasi ke-2 dan ke-3 dari perusahaan keluarga di Kabupaten Padang Pariaman, yang terdiri dari kelompok dengan suksesi yang berhasil dan yang gagal. Data sekunder juga digunakan sebagai kontrol, meskipun fokus utama adalah pada data primer. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa keberhasilan atau kegagalan suksesi perusahaan keluarga di Kabupaten Padang Pariaman dipengaruhi oleh beberapa faktor penting. Dalam konteks keluarga, dukungan dari pendiri dan anggota keluarga, serta kesetaraan kesempatan bagi calon suksesor, berperan besar. Pembagian warisan seringkali didasarkan pada jenis kelamin dan urutan kelahiran, dengan anak laki-laki, terutama yang pertama, lebih sering menerima usaha keluarga. Peran keluarga dalam memilih dan mendukung suksesor sangat penting, meskipun perusahaan keluarga umumnya tidak memiliki dewan keluarga, sehingga keputusan sering diambil oleh suksesor sendiri dengan konsultasi terbatas.

Abstract

This paper examines factors that influence the depth-usage of social media as a business platform among student entrepreneurs by focusing analysis on the mediating effect of social media adoption. The study uses The Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology (UTAUT) Model which identifies factors that can influence individuals’ behavioral patterns to accept and to use technology as the main theoretical/conceptual foundation.The study is a quantitative study which operates relational analysis between variables. A survey through the questionnaire with 142 student entrepreneurs in three state owned universities in Padang, Indonesia was undertaken to collect primary data and information. The result was further analyzed by using Structural Equation Modelling (SEM) Partial Least Square (PLS) and causal step analysis in order to investigate the relationship between each variable and the mediating effect of social media adoption on factors that influence the depth-usage of social media as the business platform used by students entrepreneurs. The study found that performance expectation, perceived trust and social influence as the major factors that influence the adoption of social media usage as the business platform by student entrepreneurs. Meanwhile, perceived risks does not bring positive and significant influence. However, the mediating effect of the adoption of social media usage is only found in the performance expectancy when it influences the depth-usage of social media as the business platform by the student entrepreneurs.

Abstract

This study aims to explore the financial management strategies employed by inmates involved in drug trafficking at Padang Class IIA Correctional Facility, focusing on how these individuals manage financial operations within a controlled and restrictive environment through organized, covert practices. Using an exploratory qualitative approach, the study involved in-depth interviews with five selected inmates who were directly involved in prison-based drug networks. Participants were chosen through purposive sampling based on criteria relevant to their involvement in narcotics-related business activities. Data were analyzed using thematic analysis supported by NVivo 12 Plus software to identify emerging financial patterns and strategies. The findings reveal that inmates maintain liquidity and conceal the origins of drug-related funds through various tactics, such as supporting legal employment as a cover and placing assets under third-party names. Entry into the drug business did not require personal financial capital; instead, trust and reputation served as key currencies within the network. These financial strategies closely resemble those used in legitimate business enterprises but are adapted to the prison context. This study contributes to the academic discourse on criminal entrepreneurship and suggests practical implications for enhancing financial surveillance and security protocols within correctional institutions. Future research should include broader samples and examine the role of external actors such as family members or prison staff.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh entrepreneurial orientation terhadap innovation performance dan digital transformation wirausaha mikro Kota Padang dengan dynamic capability sebagai variabel mediasi. Pendekatan yang digunakan adalah kuantitatif melalui survei terhadap 230 wirausaha mikro dengan teknik purposive sampling. Analisis data dilakukan menggunakan Structural Equation Modelling – Partial Least Square (SEM-PLS). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa entrepreneurial orientation tidak berpengaruh secara langsung terhadap innovation performance maupun digital transformation, namun berpengaruh positif terhadap dynamic capabilities. Selanjutnya, dynamic capabilities berpengaruh positif terhadap innovation performance dan digital transformation. Serta terbukti memediasi hubungan antara entrepreneurial orientation terhadap innovation performance dan digital transformation. Implikasi penelitian bagi wirausaha mikro untuk meningkatkan inisiatif perubahan, ketangkasan pengambilan keputusan, eksplorasi informasi, efisiensi biaya inovasi, dan pembaruan model bisnis berbasis digital. Selain itu, hasil ini juga dapat menjadi dasar bagi pemerintah daerah dalam merancang program pelatihan dan pendampingan yang berfokus pada penguatan kapasitas internal pelaku usaha, khususnya dalam menghadapi digital transformation dan tuntutan inovasi.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengeksplorasi strategi rebranding yang dilakukan untuk mengubah persepsi masyarakat terhadap olahraga billiards di Kampung Pondok, Kota Padang. Billiards yang semula dipersepsikan negatif sebagai aktivitas malam yang identik dengan rokok, perjudian, dan pergaulan bebas, kini tengah mengalami transformasi citra melalui pendekatan rebranding yang modern, inklusif, dan berbasis komunitas. Pendekatan teori yang digunakan mencakup Theory of Planned Behavior (TPB), Labeling Theory, dan Resource-Based View (RBV). Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah kualitatif dengan pendekatan fenomenologi, melibatkan tujuh informan dari kalangan Gen Z dan pelaku industri billiards. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui observasi, wawancara mendalam, dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa strategi rebranding yang efektif melibatkan penguatan identitas visual, peningkatan kenyamanan fasilitas, penyusunan narasi sosial yang positif, serta pemanfaatan aset tidak berwujud seperti komunitas dan loyalitas pelanggan. Perubahan persepsi masyarakat terhadap billiards mulai terlihat, terutama di kalangan muda, namun masih terdapat tantangan berupa stereotip sosial dan nilai konservatif yang diwariskan. Penelitian ini memberikan kontribusi pada pengembangan strategi komunikasi rebranding yang sensitif terhadap dinamika budaya dan sosial lokal.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengeksplorasi secara mendalam dinamika adopsi Teknologi Informasi dan Komunikasi (TIK) di kalangan koperasi pertanian yang berlokasi di Provinsi Riau. Sektor pertanian, sebagai tulang punggung ekonomi lokal, menghadapi tantangan modernisasi yang menuntut integrasi teknologi dalam operasionalnya. Melalui pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode wawancara mendalam, studi ini menggali persepsi, motivasi, dan tantangan yang dihadapi oleh para pengelola koperasi, anggota, serta pemangku kepentingan terkait dalam memanfaatkan TIK. Temuan ini menunjukkan bahwa meskipun adopsi TIK telah dimulai dan membawa manfaat signifikan dalam efisiensi dan transparansi, proses ini masih bersifat parsial dan menghadapi berbagai hambatan, mulai dari keterbatasan sumber daya manusia hingga ketersediaan infrastruktur dan kepercayaan anggota. Artikel ini menyajikan gambaran komprehensif tentang bagaimana faktor-faktor internal dan eksternal membentuk lanskap digitalisasi koperasi pertanian, serta menawarkan rekomendasi praktis untuk mendorong adopsi TIK yang lebih merata dan berkelanjutan. dapat meningkatkan produktivitas dan daya saing koperasi di pasar global.

Abstract

This study aims to examine business fraud practices and management response patterns in the construction services sector, particularly in government projects in West Sumatra. Using a qualitative phenomenological approach, this study explores the perceptions of six construction services company leaders through in-depth interviews. The results show that fraud practices in the construction sector are influenced by external pressures, weak supervision, and individual characteristics within the organization. Management response patterns to fraud are classified into four categories: defensive, corrective, strategic, and ethical enhancement. Additionally, minimalist (pragmatic) and maximalist (idealistic) individual types play a role in shaping managerial perceptions and strategies in addressing fraud. These findings reinforce the relevance of integrating Agency Theory, Theory of Planned Behavior, and Institutional Theory in explaining the dynamics of fraud and ethical governance in the construction sector. This research provides important implications for strengthening internal control systems, fostering an integrity-driven organizational culture, and developing ethics-oriented leadership. Abstrak Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji praktik business fraud dan pola respon manajemen pada sektor jasa konstruksi, khususnya dalam proyek-proyek pemerintah di Sumatera Barat. Dengan menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif fenomenologi, penelitian ini menggali persepsi enam pimpinan perusahaan jasa konstruksi melalui wawancara mendalam. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa praktik fraud dalam sektor konstruksi dipengaruhi oleh tekanan eksternal, lemahnya pengawasan, serta karakter individu dalam organisasi. Pola respon manajemen terhadap fraud diklasifikasikan ke dalam empat kategori: defensif, korektif, strategis, dan peningkatan etika. Selain itu, tipe individu minimalis (pragmatis) dan maksimalis (idealis) berperan dalam membentuk persepsi dan strategi manajerial dalam menghadapi kecurangan. Temuan ini memperkuat relevansi integrasi antara Agency Theory, Theory of Planned Behavior, dan Institutional Theory dalam menjelaskan dinamika fraud dan tata kelola etis di sektor konstruksi. Penelitian ini memberikan implikasi penting bagi penguatan sistem pengendalian internal, pembentukan budaya organisasi yang berintegritas, serta pengembangan kepemimpinan yang berorientasi pada etika.
