Abstract

The mindfulness parenting program is a form of informal activity carried out to align child care and education activities in playgroups and at home. There are several problems with the pattern of parenting children. This service aims to introduce the mindfulness parenting program to Buddhists in East Oku by providing education to parents so they have knowledge and insight on how to apply good and right parenting styles to children. The service is carried out in the form of workshop activities. As a result, Buddhists in East Oku, especially foster parents, have new insights on how to educate children in a fully mindful way.

Abstract

The research aims to investigate the influence of emotional intelligence on students' learning motivation. Conducted at Jinarakkhita Buddhist College among second-semester students, this study seeks to establish the significant relationship between emotional intelligence and the level of learning motivation. Utilizing a quantitative approach, the study involves data collection from second-semester students at Jinarakkhita Buddhist College using a research instrument that has undergone validity and reliability testing. Statistical analysis is performed to test hypotheses and assess the association between emotional intelligence and learning motivation. The findings of this research will contribute to a deeper comprehension of the significance of emotional intelligence in shaping students' learning motivation. The implications of this study can provide valuable information for educational institutions to enhance the development of students' emotional intelligence and learning motivation.

Abstract

This quantitative research aims to determine the contribution of lecturers' persuasive communication to students' self-confidence and learning motivation. The study population was students of Jinarakkhita Buddhist College of Lampung. The sampling technique was carried out by random sampling with the number of selected samples as many as 78 people. The research data were collected using the lecturer's persuasive communication scale, self-confidence scale, and learning motivation scale. The data analysis technique used was multivariate analysis of variance (MANOVA). Analysis of research data showed that there was a positive contribution between persuasive communication and self-confidence. It is also known that there is a positive contribution between persuasive communication and learning motivation. Specifically, it is known that in this study, lecturers' persuasive communication is high, students' self-confidence is moderate, and students' learning motivation is also moderate.

Abstract

This study aims to discover the relationship between extrovert students' and their writing ability at the university level. The study was conducted from March to April 2023 at the Jinarakkhita Buddhist College Bandar Lampung. The population of the research was the second-semester Buddhist Education Department students in the academic year 2022-2023. The researchers used a rubric score to analyze and measure the students' recount text writing ability before and after treatment. The data were collected by administering essay writing pre-tests and post-tests. The data were collected from a writing test used to assess students' writing abilities, and a series of analyses were performed, beginning with examining the reliability of the questionnaire and the association between the score and students' personalities. The result showed increased pre-test and post-test average scores from 49.9 to 65.1. In addition, this study found that second-semester students' writing abilities have improved due to the use of communication skill-based writing instruction (CSBWI) to promote extrovert students' as they are more expressive in conducting ideas.

Abstract

This study examined the effect of communication skill-based writing instruction on the student writing ability. The researcher used a pretest-posttest experimental group design. The research was conducted from April to May 2023 in the Jinarakkhita Buddhist College Bandar Lampung. The researchers used the Statistical Package for Social Science (SPSS) version 25 program to analyze the data. A rubric score was used to analyze and measure the students' narrative text writing ability before and after treatment. The student's writing ability improved from 49.9 to 65.1. In addition, the researcher found that students who previously struggled to write now have a growing understanding of how to gather information and confidently use CSBWI in their writing. Therefore, it is critical to use a suitable and effective method to assist students in overcoming the difficulty of their writing achievement.
