Abstract

Bu Kati soy milk, an MSME in Kudus that was established in 2015, experienced a decline in sales due to unattractive packaging, easy to leak, and product durability of only one day at room temperature. This study aims to increase consumer interest and extend the product's shelf life so that it can be consumed longer. The problem solving was carried out by combining the Quality Function Deployment (QFD) method to design a packaging design that suits consumer desires, and the Geneva Emotion Wheel (GEW) method to measure consumer emotions towards old and new packaging. From the design results, three designs with bottle sizes of 250 ml, 300 ml, and 350 ml were produced. The 3rd design with a bottle size of 250 ml was chosen because it was considered the most appropriate by consumers. The comparison between the old packaging and the newly designed packaging showed an increase of more than 25% in consumer interest, indicating that the new packaging was more in line with their desires. The new packaging also extended the product's shelf life to two days at room temperature, meeting the established success criteria. In addition, evaluation using the Geneva Emotion Wheel (GEW) method showed an increase in positive emotions and a decrease in negative emotions, indicating an increase in consumer interest in Bu Kati's soy milk products.

Abstract

Honey is a key raw material in the traditional medicine industry, processed through a supply chain that involves various stakeholders, such as suppliers, producers, and distributors. However, the management of the honey supply chain faces several challenges, particularly related to waste, including overproduction, excess inventory of raw materials, and defective products. This study aims to develop a framework for reducing waste in the honey supply chain using a Seven Wastes approach to identify problems, conduct root cause analysis through a fishbone diagram, and map the roles and classifications of stakeholders in implementing solutions. The results indicate that waste is caused by various factors, and the roles of stakeholders are classified based on supply chain drivers. This classification includes the management of machine capacity and maintenance at facilities, the implementation of Economic Order Quantity (EOQ), Just-in-Time (JIT), safety stock systems, as well as improvements in raw material quality in inventory management and procurement, and information classification using a forecasting system based on historical data. The implementation of these solutions is expected to optimize supply chain management and reduce waste.

A total of 658 boarding house data from an e-commerce platform was extracted using business intelligence web scraping to determine the characteristics of the boarding house market trend in Sleman Regency. Multinomial Logistic Regression was used to find out the facilities for rooms, bathrooms, shared services and equipment, and common rooms, making the difference in rental prices for superior, exclusive, intermediate, and standard boarding house classes. The Multinomial Logistic Regression analysis results revealed that boarding houses with high rental prices were more concerned with things directly felt by tenants (everything about their room needs). Meanwhile, boarding houses with affordable rental prices prioritized things that general tenants could use/utilized.

Abstract

Culinary products in Yogyakarta include products that have a high level of demand. One of the products that consumers like is cracker. The process of making crackers in Yogyakarta is still predominantly done manually. This condition causes humans to play an important role in meeting cracker production targets. Based on observations and interviews with stakeholders in this cracker business, there are fundamental problems that must be resolved immediately. The problem is the number of complaints from production employees related to physical discomfort while working. This can lead to productivity issues. The expected solution is how to reduce the number of complaints of such employees. An ergonomic approach is used to solve this problem. Employee complaints regarding work discomfort are influenced by work risks present at production workstations. So that when work risks can be reduced, the number of employee complaints will also decrease. The method for assessing work risks and efforts to improve them is used the REBA method.Based on the priority of problems determined using the REBA method, information was obtained that the cracker printing workstation needs to be repaired immediately in order to reduce work risks. Improvements are made by designing trolley aids that can reduce the level of risk from a value of ten to five.

Abstract

Improving the quality of life of older adults is one of the important challenges in social development and public health. Older adults are vulnerable to boredom, decreased happiness, and limited social activities, especially after entering retirement. This community service activity aimed to provide education on the importance of tourism activities for older adults as a means of mental refreshment, increased happiness, and support for physical and mental health. The activity was conducted on October 19, 2025, at Glagah Beach, Kulon Progo Regency, involving 54 members of the Mandiri Sejahtera Association (Mandira) from the Karangkajen, Brontokusuman, and Mergangsan areas of Yogyakarta City. The methods used included lectures, question-and-answer sessions, interactive games, and assistance during tourism activities. The results showed that participants responded positively to the program. They appeared more enthusiastic, happier, and less bored, and gained new insights into the benefits of tourism for life in old age. The activity also created a more varied meeting atmosphere and enhanced social interaction among members. Based on these findings, it can be concluded that community service activities integrating education and tourism are effective in improving the psychological well-being and quality of life of older adults.

Abstract

Women’s empowerment initiatives represent a strategic effort to foster economic independence while simultaneously strengthening spiritual and social values within the community. One such approach is through training in the craft of rosary-making using cord and beads, which carries not only religious significance but also economic potential as a devotional handicraft product. This program is designed to enhance the skills of women, particularly within the Sang Timur community Semangkak Klaten, by enabling them to independently and creatively produce rosaries. As an innovation in community engagement, the training goes beyond the technical aspects of rosary production by incorporating education on digital marketing strategies. Participants are equipped with the skills to utilize social media platforms, online marketplaces, and product photography techniques to promote their creations more effectively and to a wider audience.
