Abstract

In this modern era, the company's goals have shifted. Not merely pursuing profit, but competing to create a good image in the eyes of the public and stakeholders. This study aims to examine the influence of  ICSR on financial performance in Islamic commercial banks. The method in this research is quantitative with panel data analysis. Samples used was 11 Islamic commercial banks in Indonesia with a purposive sampling technique using secondary data sources from the 2016-2018 financial statements.The results show that the Islamic Corporate Social Responsibility (ICSR) negative effect on financial performance in Islamic banks.

Abstract

In increasing the assets of Islamic banks, they certainly need funding. Return on Assets (ROA) is a ratio that has the function of increasing banking assets. This study aims to determine the effect of murabaha, mudaraba and musharaka financing on profitability projected on ROA using objects, namely 9 Islamic banks in Otoritas Jasa Keuangan (OJK) which have reached the research criteria. Data from this study are in the form of financial statements from the bank's website for the 2014-2018 period. The partial results of the study are murabahah, mudharabah, and musyarakah financing have no influence on ROA, while simultaneous murabahah, mudharabah and musyarakah financing do not have an influence on ROA.

Abstract

This research examined how employee recruitment at PT. Pegadaian (Persero) Surabaya Region XII Office from an Islamic perspective. The purpose of this research was to determine whether the implementation of recruitment at PT. Pegadaian (Persero) Surabaya Region XII Office is in accordance with an Islamic perspective. The research method used was descriptive qualitative research using primary data from interviews and secondary data from company annual data and literature studies. Based on the results of research and previous discussions, it showed that the recruitment at PT. Pegadaian (Persero) Regional Office XII Surabaya still has not fully implemented recruitment in accordance with Islamic principles. Therecruitment is still centered at the head office, hence the recruitment in conventional and Islamic units are still carried out in the same system. There are no specific guidelines and criterias for recruitment at Islamic unit in Pegadaian. Furthermore, the company also does not require employees to have basic education in the field of Islamic Economics.

Abstract

The wrong mindset about gold investment creates the thought in society that gold investment is one of long term saving with high risk, multiple requirements and indeterminate. These aspects trigger the lack of gold investment interest in the society. This research aims to understand the partial influence of general knowledge, income perception and education to the gold investment interest in Jombang district society. This research used quantitative method with associative approach. The population used was the citizen in Jombang district. Sampling techniques was done by purposive sampling, while the determination of the number of sample was using Lameshow formula. The data used in this research was primary data which obtained from the online questionnaire distribution via google form. This research questionnaire used Guttman Scale measurement. In this research, the test used multiple linier regressions. This research shows that general knowledge and education aspects have positive and significant influence to the investment interest. While in the income perception aspect, it was known that there is no positive and significant influence to the investment interest.

Abstract

This research aimed to find out the digital marketing strategy in Aqiqah Nurul Hayat through endorsements. In addition, this study also aimed to determine the conformity of endorsement activities with the concept of Islamic business ethics. This study used qualitative research methods i.e. field research and library research. The data was collected through interview, observation, and documentation. The results indicate that Aqiqah Nurul Hayat's digital marketing strategy is through endorsements on social media (instagram and tiktok). This strategy is able to expand market reach as proved by increased Instagram engagement through the number of likes, comments, shares, views, and reposts. However, the agreement between the celebrity and Aqiqah Nurul Hayat who uses the barter system is still considered weak. The results show that, the implementation of celebrity endorsement at Aqiqah Nurul Hayat is not following the principles of responsibility and truth under the concept of Islamic business ethics, whereby sometimes some celebrities do not carry out their obligations in accordance with the terms and conditions of the endorsement. However, the principles of unity, balance, and free will are in accordance with the principles of Islamic business ethics whereby the endorsement procedure benefitted both parties through negotiations and freedom of opinion while conducting business.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to look at the factors that affect stock prices, such as ROE, EPS, and DER during the Covid-19 pandemic. All issuers on the IDX listed in JII 70 are the population in this study. The sampling technique used purposive sampling, in order to obtain a sample of 48 stocks. The data in this study used panel data obtained from the IDX website. Descriptive statistical analysis and panel data regression are data analysis techniques used in this study. The results of the study indicate that ROE, EPS and DER have a significant effect on the stock price of JII-70 companies during the Covid-19 pandemic. While partially ROE, EPS does not have a significant, only DER has a significant effect on share prices of companies that are members of JII 70 during the Covid-19 pandemic.

Abstract

Shopping that previously required consumers to come directly to the shopping place, can now be done by shopping online via the live streaming feature. The aim of this research is to analyze the influence of the Shopee Live feature, religiosity and lifestyle on the Islamic consumption behavior of the people of the city of Surabaya. The research method uses quantitative methods with primary data sources obtained from distributing questionnaires online. Sampling used purposive sampling technique with a total of 125 respondents. The technique used in data analysis is structural equation modeling- partial least squares (SEM-PLS) in SmartPLS 4 software. The results of the research show that there is a significant influence on the Shopee Live feature and religiosity on Islamic consumption behavior, while lifestyle has no effect on behavior. Islamic consumption. This shows that the promotion on Shopee Live does not make people shop because they want to and continue to behave in Islamic consumption.

Abstract

IntroductionThis study aims to identify the most popular topics and words in Twitter conversations regarding cyber-attacks on Bank Syariah Indonesia that occurred in May 2023. It also seeks to analyze the sentiments, emotions, and potential customer churn of netizens following cyber-attacks.ObjectivesThe objective of this study is to investigate the public's response to cyber-attacks on Bank Syariah Indonesia, focusing on identifying key topics, analyzing sentiments and emotions, and estimating potential customer churn.MethodThis study uses a qualitative method with a sentiment analysis approach utilizing Orange Data Mining software. The data comprises tweets collected from May 10, 2023, to May 24, 2023, using keywords such as “BSI” and “Bank Syariah Indonesia,” resulting in 30,014 tweets. Sentiment and emotion analyses were conducted to categorize tweets and identify the prevalent sentiments and emotions.ResultsThe analysis reveals that the words “BSI,” “Data,” and “Lockbit” are most frequently mentioned, indicating the relevance of the cyber-attackers who targeted Bank Syariah Indonesia. The sentiment analysis showed that 56% of the tweets were neutral and dominated by emotions of joy. The study also identifies a short-term potential churn rate of 1.60% for Bank Syariah Indonesia's total customer base, indicating the risk of customers switching to other banks.ImplicationsThe results highlight the importance of robust cybersecurity measures and quick response strategies for maintaining customer trust and satisfaction. Financial institutions, particularly banks, must prioritize information and technology security to prevent customer churn and ensure the continuity of their services.Originality/NoveltyThis study provides insights into public reactions to cyber-attacks on Islamic banks, emphasizing the role of sentiment and emotion analysis in understanding customer behavior. This offers practical implications for improving risk management and customer retention strategies in the banking sector.

Abstract

Investasi merupakan solusi yang dapat digunakan untuk mengelola keuangan. Salah satu produk keuangan yang cukup populer ialah saham syariah. Namun, baru-baru ini terjadi kasus investasi bodong ini ternyata juga membawa beberapa nama influencer Indonesia. Tentunya para korban mempunyai faktor penyebab terjerat investasi bodong sehingga menjadi minat untuk investasi. Dengan begitu, penelitian ini ditujukan untuk mengetahui pengaruh pengetahuan investasi, sistem online trading syariah dan motivasi terhadap minat berinvestasi pada saham syariah di galeri investasi yang berada di Surabaya. Metode penelitian yang digunakan ialah penelitian kuantitatif asosiatif dengan analisis Sem-PLS. Sampel yang digunakan sebesar 100 responden melalui kuesioner dengan kriteria yang sudah ditentukan. Dari hasil penelitian menyatakan bahwa terdapat pengaruh pengetahuan investasi, sistem online trading syariah dan motivasi terhadap minat berinvestasi pada saham syariah. Penelitian ini diharapkan membawa manfaat kepada pembaca sehingga tidak terjerat kasus investasi bodong berkedok online trading.
