Abstract

Ports play an important role for a region. As an entry gate that connects regions, ports have a role in revitalizing the economy and regional development. Situbondo Regency has a main port, namely Jangkar Port. Located in Jangkar District, Situbondo Regency, this port connects the island of Java-Madura-Lombok. Having a strategic location and a large number of interested parties makes Jangkar Port worthy of consideration for development. Therefore,it is necessary to carry out an analysis of the dock as consideration for the future development of Jangkar Port. The analysis carried out by calculating the Berth Occupancy Ratio (BOR) value, namely calculating the comparison of the time for using the dock with the time available in the time period expressed as a percentage. Based on research, the results obtained were 15,1 % and showed that the use of docks at Jangkar Port still met standards because it did not exceed the 40% limit in accordance with UNCTAS provisions for dock with one berth.

Abstract

Our Earth is a blue planet, two-thirds of which is water. However, 20% of the earth's human population suffers from a lack of clean water. Desalination is the process of converting seawater into fresh water. This research aims to convert seawater into potable fresh water by evaporation using heat energy. The heat energy used is heat from burning fire and heat from sunray. These two energy sources will be compared and analyzed for their efficiency in desalinating seawater into fresh water. Heating using fire is done by burning twigs and dry leaves, and then two glass bottles are connected to the mouth of the bottle so that there is no air in or out. The collected water vapor will flow into the empty bottle. The second method uses sunray for heating. The two clear bottles are connected with a small pipe at the mouths of the bottles. Seawater is collected in the bottle and then dried under direct sunlight. The evaporated water will pass through the connecting pipe and gather in the empty bottle above. Fresh water produced from heating using fire was collected as much as ±7 ml in a span of 20 minutes, while heating using sunray can produce ±2 ml of fresh water in a span of 70 minutes or 1 hour 10 minutes.

Abstract

The Bluncong River plays a crucial role in supporting the livelihoods of the local community, especially in the agricultural sector. Research was conducted in Cangkring Village, Prajekan Subdistrict, Bondowoso Regency, from November 2023 to February 2024. The aim of this study is to provide an overview of the advantages and shortcomings of the Bluncong River's water discharge. From the study, data was obtained regarding water discharge deficits at each measurement gate. The lowest water discharge was recorded between November 1-10, 2023, at the 1 Right gate, with a value of 2.03 l/s, while the lowest discharge per hectare was recorded at the 5 Right gate during the same period, amounting to 0.34 l/s/ha. The highest water discharge occurred between January 21-31, 2024, reaching 218.88 l/s, but the highest discharge per hectare was recorded at the 5 Left gate during the same period, with 2.51 l/s/ha. The average water discharge during the planting season was 1.25 l/s/ha, during the maintenance season it was 1.14 l/s/ha, and during the harvest season it was 0.88 l/s/ha

Abstract

In Bletok Village, Bungatan District, Situbondo Regency, there is hand line fishing equipment. Usually, hand-line fishermen use live bait. But getting live bait is quite difficult and the price is also quite expensive. To overcome this problem, fishermen usually use artificial bait, namely chicken feathers. This study was conducted in Bletok Village, Bungatan District, Situbondo Regency, East Java for one month from January to February. This research aims to determine catch results and the influence of bait color on handline fishing gear. The method used in this research is experimental fishing, namely carrying out fishing operations using treated hand lines. The bait colors tested were red, white and black chicken feathers. Then the data obtained was processed using SPSS using the Kolmogorov-Smirnov test and ANNOVA test. The catches from Ulur fishing rods during the research were Yellow Selar Fish (Selaroides leptolepis), Fly Fish (Layang Perkak), Bentong Selar Fish (Crumenophthalmus), Mackerel Fish (Rastrelliger sp), Pompano Fish (Carangodes) and Tuna Fish (Sarda orientalis). From the results of the ANNOVA test, it is stated that F count > F table with F count 1.186 F table 3.95, meaning that H0 is rejected, so it can be said that the difference in bait color has no real effect on fishermen's catche

Abstract

Bendungan merupakan struktur rekayasa yang dibangun untuk mengendalikan aliran air sungai atau saluran lainnya, memiliki fungsi utama sebagai penahan air dan pembentuk waduk. Fungsi bendungan meliputi penyediaan air irigasi, pembangkit listrik tenaga air, pengendalian banjir, dan penyediaan air minum. Sejak zaman kuno, manusia telah memanfaatkan bendungan untuk memenuhi kebutuhan hidup sehari-hari dan mendukung pembangunan ekonomi serta sosial suatu wilayah. Metodologi penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan purposive area dengan observasi langsung di lapangan, mengamati fenomena terkait tujuan penelitian. Waduk Bajulmati, contoh konkret bendungan urugan centre core rock fill dam, terletak di perbatasan Kabupaten Situbondo dan Banyuwangi, Jawa Timur. Dibangun pada tahun 2006 dan selesai pada tahun 2015, waduk ini memiliki fungsi multi, termasuk irigasi, pariwisata, penyediaan air baku, perikanan, dan pembangkit listrik. Material utama dalam tubuh bendungan urugan centre core rock fill dam melibatkan batuan besar sebagai lapisan utama, dengan inti kedap air dari tanah liat, bahan geosintetik, atau kombinasi material lainnya. Pelepasan tekanan, batu, dan tanah pendukung juga berperan penting dalam struktur bendungan.
