Abstract

Agency theory occurs when shareholders recruit a manager to manage the company. Both shareholders and managers tend to work in their best interests. The free cash flow hypothesis states that managers tend to use internal funds to invest in an unprofitable project rather than pay a dividend to shareholders. This research investigates whether internal fund available creates trouble (agency conflict) that can reduce the firm value in Indonesia's company by examining the relationship of operating cash flow as the source of internal funds to firm value through investment decision and dividend policy. The research object is the consumer non-cyclical sector listed on Indonesia Stock Exchange from 2015-to 2019. The purposive sampling technique selects forty-seven companies. Panel data was analyzed using two stages least square (2SLS). This research finds that operating cash flow positively affects firm value. Nonetheless, operating cash flow does not affect firm value through investment decisions and dividend policy in Indonesia.

Abstract

This research aims to investigate the relationship between sociodemographic factors, encompassing age, gender, and access to the internet among Generation Z in Surabaya, utilizing the convergence theory framework. Convergence theory posits that both heredity and environmental factors can affect human development. There are 441 respondents employed as the sample of this research. We use multiple regression linear analysis to examine the hypothesis. The finding reveals that age and gender positively affect financial literacy, whereas access to the internet does not directly affect financial literacy. Instead, it exerts an indirect effect through financial interest. Various robustness tests were conducted, and the results remained consistent.

Abstract

Abstract- The number of Generation Z individuals who invest in high-risk financial instruments is increasing. This trend is interesting because high-risk investments commonly tend to attract older and more experienced investor. This study aims to analyze the impact of financial literacy and financial interest on investment decisions of Generation Z in high-risk assets, with risk tolerance as a moderating factor. Theory of Planned Behavior (TPB) is used to formulate the hypotheses. This study used quantitative method and the data is collected by distributing the questionnaires to the respondents. The sample of this study is 401 Generation Z individuals in Surabaya who are over 17 years old and thus legally able to invest according to Indonesian regulations. We conduct logistic regression analysis to test the hypotheses. The findings reveal that financial literacy does not affect investment decisions in high-risk assets, whereas financial interest has a positive effect. Furthermore, risk tolerance does not moderate the relationship between financial literacy and investment decisions. However, a high level of risk tolerance strengthens the positive effect of financial interest on investment decisions in high-risk assets. This research contributes new insight for investment companies and government to boost financial interest through engaging activities like gamified financial tools and interactive workshops. Abstract

This study aims to examine the effect of intellectual capital on firm performance. Intellectual capital is evaluated using the Value-Added Intellectual Coefficient (VAIC), which covers human, structural, and capital efficiency. Using quantile regression and three different performance measures, the study analyzes how the effect of intellectual capital changes across different performance levels. The sample is 358 Indonesian non-financial companies (1,074 firm-year observations) from 2018 to 2020. The results show a positive relationship between intellectual capital and firm performance, which supports the resource-based theory (RBT). However, the effect varies between high-performing and low-performing companies, showing that intellectual capital has a different influence depending on the firm's performance level.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to find out the relationship between Organizational Inertia, Customer Orientation, Incremental Innovation and Organizational Performance. The sample used in this study were 180 MSME companies spread across East Java. The reason MSMEs are used in this study is related to the concept of organizational inertia that is attached to small-scale companies. From this study it was found that incremental innovation is not a mediating variable that links organizational inertia and customer orientation with organizational performance.
