Abstract

Waste management is one of the important aspects of environmental conservation efforts, organic waste refers to waste derived from natural materials that are easily decomposed, such as food waste and dry leaves. This waste has the potential to be processed into useful compost, which can improve soil quality and support agriculture and plant growth. The process involves the decomposition of organic matter by microorganisms, such as bacteria and fungi, which turn the waste into a nutrient-rich material. Organic waste that is not handled properly can have a negative impact on environmental hygiene. The training on the utilization of organic waste into compost fertilizer conducted at Pondok Pesantren Putri Assunniyyah Kencong, Jember aims to provide skills and knowledge on organic waste management in making compost fertilizer. The implementation of this work program has three stages of implementation, namely socialization, training, and mentoring to female santri. During the training, the female students learned how to identify and collect suitable organic materials, such as vegetable scraps, fruits, and dry leaves, as well as hands-on practice of making compost fertilizer that can be used for the boarding school's agricultural land located on the 5th floor. The results of this organic waste utilization training show that the students have more interest in sustainable outcomes and a significant increase in the students' understanding of organic waste management. Abstract

Waste is a problem that is always faced by all sectors, one of which is the Assunniyyah Islamic Boarding School in Jember Regency. As an educational institution, the waste problem at the Assunniyyah Islamic Boarding School in Jember Regency is mostly inorganic waste, especially plastic waste. This waste has not been used so it only ends up in landfills. This Community Service Program aims to increase awareness of students about waste and implement ecobricks as an effort to reduce plastic waste in the Assunniyyah Islamic Boarding School environment in Jember Regency. The method used starts from the inorganic waste introduction stage, the ecobrick introduction stage, and the ecobrick making training stage. Abstract

A strong demand to rejuvenate the package of religion becomes inevitable consequence of current globalization era which is marked by the emerging of the giant network of networks, the Internet. By its high user and penetration number, the Internet creates some significant appropriations in the current society’s social and religious lives. Religion Online and Online Religion are of many products of religion’s appropriation effort to the coming of Internet. Using theo-phenomenological approach to analyze an example of Religion Online and Online Religion, this paper concludes that Internet not only is a powerful technology that could change the face of religion but it also functions as a religion itself, that helps people feel God’s presence.Keywords:globalization, internet, religion online and online religion

Abstract

Various ethnicities, cultures, religions, tribes, races come to visit Bung Karno's grave to make a pilgrimage in their own way. This is proof that the Indonesian nation is a nation rich in diversity. Although diverse, all of them are united by a nationalist spirit, with a high spirit of nationalism, all diversity can be united. Analysis of the attractiveness and motivation of visitors in general is needed to find out how much the spirit of nationalism of the Indonesian people in appreciating and continuing the services of its heroes, especially Bung Karno as the first President of the Republic of Indonesia. The method used is the literature study method and interviews. Data was obtained based on interviews with the caretaker of the place and with the results of his own observations. From the results it was found that Bung Karno's charismatic figure is still the main reason visitors come as a form of appreciation to him. His struggle certainly cannot only be felt before independence, but for his struggle since then, the enjoyment of independence can still be felt.

Abstract

Pelatihan penanganan pascapanen kopi di tingkat petani kopi adalah salah satuupaya strategis yng dilakukan untuk meningkatkan pemahaman serta ketrampilanpetani kopi dalam penanganan pascapanen kopi. Petani kopi di Desa KemiriKecamatan Panti Kabupaten Jember umumnya menjual kopi hasil panen dalambentuk olahan. Pengolahan kopi pada dasarnya bertujuan untuk meningkatkanpendapatan petani. Petani kopi Desa Kemiri berharap agar pengolahan tersebutdilakukan dengan cara yang paling tepat sehingga dapat meningkatkanpemasukan dan bisa diterima oleh pasar. Tujuan pengabdian ini memberikanpemahaman terhadap petani kopi mengenai pengolahan pasca panen yang ada diDesa Kemiri Kecamatan Panti Kabupaten Jember. Pengabdian masyarakatdilaksanakan di Kopontren Al Hasan yang menanungi beberapa kelompok tanikopi yang ada di Desa Kemiri, Kecamatan Panti Kabupaten Jember, pada hariSelasa tanggal 22 Agustus 2023, dengan metode Focus GroupDiscussion (FGD), dan ceramah/penyuluhan, pelatihan dan evaluasi danmonitoring. Hasil kegiatan akan memberikan pengetahun petani mitra melaluiperbaikan pasca panen yang dilakukan agar dapat mengurangi waktu pengeringanbiji kopi serta menambah cita rasa dari kopi arabika.

Abstract

Permasalahan pondok pesantren hanya pembelajaran agama yang ditekankankepada santri, sehingga memberikan peluang untuk dikembangkan terkaitpembelajaran budidaya hidroponik di pondok pesantren dan dinilai efektif efisiendari segi tempat dan biaya. Pelatihan dan pendampingan terkait budidayahidroponik sangat diperlukan guna memberikan pengetahuan dan mencukupikebutuhan gizi santri. Tujuan pengabdian masyarakat memberikan pendampingandan implementasi langsung dalam pembuatan kerangka alat hidroponik sampaidengan pelatihan pemasaran. Waktu kegiatan tanggal 17-19 Agustus 2023dengan mitra sasaran Pondok Pesantren Nurud Tauhid Lumajang berjumlah 30santri putri. Metode kegiatan dilakukan interview mendalam, observasi,sosialisasi, pelatihan, pendampingan, dan evaluasi. Hasil kegiatan entrepreneurhidroponik sosialisasi terkait manfaat tanaman hidroponik, peserta pelatihanmembuat instalasi hidroponik, dan melakukan persemaian benih sayur selada,kangkung, dan sawi. Harapannya santri di pondok pesantren dapat mendukungpenyediaan bahan makanan dan berdampak positif bagi santri. Selain itu santripondok pesantren lebih mandiri dan memiliki kemampuan dalammengembangkan agripreneur hidroponik, sehingga mampu bersaing denganmasyarakat diluar pondok pesantren.

Abstract

Indonesia sebagai negara yang beraneka ragam yang menjadikan penting hadirnya toleransi, Penelitian ini bertujuan menggali informasi terkait gambaran akulturasi nilai toleransi kehidupan umat beragama Budha di kawasan Maha Vihara Majapahit Desa Bejijong Kecamatan Trowulan – Mojokerto dan Masjid Al – Akbar Surabaya dan mengungkap dampak akulturasi nilai toleransi, budaya dan sosial yang dibangun terhadap kerukunan antar umat beragama. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode deskriptif. Teknik yang digunakan dalam pengumpulan data, yaitu wawancara, observasi, dan historis. Penelitian ini untuk mengetahui bentuk aktualisasi, nilai – nilai toleransi yang terjadi di kawasan Maha Vihara Majapahit dan Masjid Al – Akbar Surabaya meliputi bidang keagamaan, sosial dan budaya. Dampak aktualisasi nilai toleransi yang di bangun terhadap kerukunan antar umat beragama tersebut dibedakan menjadi dua yaitu dampak secara budaya dan juga sosial bagi antar umat beragama.

Abstract

My previous research on Pandalungan Kiai as a mediatized world shows a complicated case of negotiation between Internet and religion. From mediatization perspective, we can see a clear dynamic interplay between Internet and Pandalungan Kiai as each of them try to influence one another. This interplay is actually the nature of a mediatization process which, furthermore, leads to an interesting phenomenon of the rhizomatic fragmentation of religious authority causing many uncontrolled Islamic discourses to emerge. As corollary to that phenomenon, this article questions the role of the state in controlling the religious diversity of its people and the emergence of various Islamic discourses to be able to give a proper response to the fragmentation. This current research dedicated to critically unpack the problem by focusing on the case of Malaysia and Singapore as each share similar socio-cultural life. The data collected through observation and interview with 22 informants consisted of imams, asatizs, scholars, and local civilians in Malaysia and Singapore during my research field work in November and December 2018. This study found that the two countries implemented a strict certification policy for religious leaders to regulate the diversity of religious life. This fact leads this article to conclude the importance of the role of the government in making strict rules for religious leaders to be able to face the various consequences of the rhizomatic fragmentation of religious authority caused by the coming of (new) media in da’wa activities.

Abstract

The friction between tradition and religion has always been a matter of debate. For example, a local community tradition that is still alive and growing today is the celebration of Prophet's Birthday tradition. The ritual, which is carried out with the aim of remembering the Prophet Muhammad SAW, is commemorated every year on the 12th of Rabi'ul Awal. The implementation is packaged in an attractive, lively and even luxurious manner in various places, giving rise to fanaticism in the celebration process. This is what attracts the author to discuss more deeply the study of how the traditional celebration of Maulid is constructed and the public's understanding of the essence of Maulid? How is the shift in the meaning of grace used as a theological argument in the Prophet's Birthday tradition? How to restore the traditional function of Mawlid as a medium for preaching mercy? This article uses an analysis of living Qur'an hadith as a phenomenon that lives in East Java society, especially Lumajang. The approach used is an anthropological approach and the grace (rahmat) paradigm as a perspective in studying the meaning of grace which is used as a postulate in the celebration of the Prophet's birthday. Through this lens of grace, understanding the essence of the Prophet's birthday can actually create a good life. The essence of grace in the Mawlid tradition should continue to be 'revived' so that it can become a medium for preaching to create a friendly and graceful face of Islam. Where the characteristics of a good life are the creation of prosperity, peace and happiness both in this world and the hereafter.

Abstract

This article investigates the enduring threat of radicalism among female ex-convicts in Indonesia who, despite seeming disengagement, retain radical ideologies and reject local wisdom. It explores the complexities of their reintegration by examining how their past experiences in radical groups, through the lens of Bourdieu's concept of "habitus," have shaped their persistent beliefs and behaviors. This ingrained mindset resists societal pressures to conform, leading to a continued rejection of local values promoting harmony. The study hypothesizes that this internalized radicalism, despite outward conformity, poses a latent risk of future radicalization and acts of intolerance, acting as a potential trigger for extremism.
