Abstract

Perkembangan teknologi dalam bidang perikanan adalah elemen kunci untuk meningkatkan hasil tangkapan dan keselamatan nelayan. Nelayan di Desa Pondok nongko merupakan salah satu nelayan aktif yang masih mengandalkan hasil tangkapan ikan sebagai sumber penghasilan. Proses penangkapan ikan yang masih tradisional dan perlengkapan seadanya menjadi kendala utama bagi para nelayan. Tidak jarang para nelayan harus mencari mata pencaharian lain pada saat gelombang tinggi. Perahu yang digunakan oleh nelayan pun relative sederhana. Bahkan beberapa nelayan memanfaatkan bamboo sebagai bahan utama pembuatan perahu. Bambu di potong tipis dan disusun sehingga membentuk lambung kapal dan kemudian diberikan stirofoam untuk membuat bambu terapung diatas air. Dengan kondisi seperti ini para nelayan berusaha keras untuk bertahan hidup di laut dan juga untuk menangkap ikan. Melihat kondisi ini kami berinisiatif untuk mencoba memberikan salah satu solusi untuk meningkatkan keselamatan dan hasil tangkapan dengan memberikan sentuhan teknologi pada perahu yang digunakan. Inisiatif pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk menerapkan inovasi dengan memanfaatkan laminasi bambu pada perahu nelayan. Metode laminasi bambu diharapkan dapat meningkatkan daya tahan perahu terhadap cuaca buruk dan gelombang tinggi, serta memberikan dampak positif pada hasil tangkapan ikan.

Abstract

This research aims to describe basic concept of Form-Focused Instruction (FFI) and try to explain further that the use of FFI in producing comprehensible input for second language learner. The interactional process can be obtained from SLL (second language learner) while doing the assignment in narrative reading text. The teacher let them discus the assignment about narrative text reading. The students are going to contribute knowledge, discuss, and give the correction each other. This study uses descriptive qualitative in nature because in this research describes and shows several type of FFI which is used by the students. The researcher tries to use an audio recorder to obtain voices of students’ interaction. To be more specific, the audio recorder tool refers to cell phone recorder. The researcher will analyze the conversation then interpret based on FFI theory The FFI will not be treated by the teacher but the advance students will give the corrective feedback because in discussion the teacher just plays role as facilitator and the teacher may not interrupt and intervene to the students’ discussion. In this research, the students can interact well. Their interaction produces negotiate meaning, recast, and feedback that construct comprehensible input. In this study, the researcher classifies the students’ interaction pattern SLL interaction based on those three components of interaction. The students to interact, share, learn, and contribute knowledge each other. Therefore, it produces comprehensible input from the interaction

Abstract

The purpose of the study is to know using media puzzle improve the students writing descriptive text for the second graders at SMP Negeri 5 Pasuruan. The researcher used a classroom action research. This research was conducted on April 05th 2017 to May 06th 2017. To get the information about the implementation of the crossword puzzle in descriptive text for writing skill, the researcher used interview, observation, questionnaire, test and documentation. The result of the test at the end of the first cycle showed that 26 students got under 76. It was not successful because it was still below criteria of success which required at least 76 as minimum score. In the cycle two, there were 27 students who got at least or more 76. It can be concluded that all students got the criteria of success, which required at least 76 as the minimum score. Finally, it can be concluded that the result of this research showed that using crossword puzzle can improve the students’ writing skill in teaching learning English. It can help the students to memorize the material easily and it can give positive effect for the students Keywords: Writing, Descriptive, Crossword Puzzle.

Abstract

At the polytechnic level of vocational education, students learn English as one of the fundamental skills. Improving one's communication abilities is crucial for students seeking higher professional positions in the tourism industry in this age of globalization. This study aims to apply a small group discussion strategy to enhance procedural text reading comprehension. Classroom action research (CAR) was the method used to conduct this study. The four stages were preparation, execution, monitoring, and evaluation. The first cycle's results showed that the students struggled to understand the process material. Among the students, just 53% were able to achieve a score higher than the minimum requirement of 76. Though cycle 2 was successful, there were still issues, such as students who weren't really engaged in their own study. The results of the observation, the questionnaire, and the students' reading scores all verified this. Around 81% of the students were able to meet those success criteria. Students' reading comprehension in the first semester of higher vocational education at the polytechnic was improved through the use of a small group discussion technique.

Abstract

Kualitas pelayanan merupakan usaha untuk mewujudkan kenyamanan bagi pelanggan agar pelanggan merasa mendapat nilai yang lebih dari yang diharapkan dan Minat pembelian ulang yang tinggi mencerminkan tingkat kepuasan yang tinggi dari konsumen ketika memutuskan untuk membeli ulang atau menolak suatu produk/jasa yang telah digunakan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis apakah kualitas pelayanan berpengaruh positif dan signifikan dalam meningkatkan minat pembelian ulang konsumen di warung sego tempong mbok wah banyuwangi. Jenis penelitian ini adalah kuantitatif. Teknik pengambilan sampel menggunakan Non probability sampling dengan jumlah 50 responden. Pengolahan data penelitian menggunakan alat uji statistik yakni SPSS. Hasil dari penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kualitas pelayanan berpengaruh signifikan terhadap minat pembelian ulang konsumen di warung sego tempong mbok wah banyuwangi.

Abstract

Pengembangan desa wisata idealnya mengedepankan prinsip pariwisata berkelanjutan serta keterlibatan masyarakat lokal dengan baik. Desa Tamansari merupakan salah satu desa wisata dengan kategori maju. Keterbatasan sumber daya manusia sektor pariwisata serta tata kelola yang masih lemah sehingga sangat perlu dilakukan pendampingan. Kondisi tersebut menjadi alas an utama untuk dilakukan Pendampingan pada Desa Wisata Tamansari Banyuwangi dalam Perencanaan dan Pengembangan Pariwisata Berkelanjutan. Sasaran utama Pemerintah Desa, Perangkat Desa, Oraganisasi Desa, BumDes, Kelopok Sadar Wisata, serta Masyarakat Desa Tamansari dan pentahelix pariwisata. Pelaksanaan dimulai dari persiapan, survey dan observasi langsung, wawancara mendalam, pemetaan dan analisis, serta pelaksanaan. Capaian dari kegiatan ini diantaranya adalah Perencanaan Pengembangan Daya Tarik Wisata Baru yaitu pada Talang Paras Kalongan., Penambahan Fasilitas di Daya Tarik Wisata Talang Paras Kalongan., dan Pembuatan QR Code / Barcode Deskripsi Tanaman di Daya Tarik Wisata Sendang Seruni Desa Wisata Tamansari Banyuwangi. Hasil capaian tersebut diharapkan menjadi langkah awal dalam penerapan pariwisata berkelanjutan.

Abstract

n order to support the Banyuwangi Rebound Movement, Pondoknongko Village Government has launched an Economic and Tourism Improvement Program in 2022 through the Pondoknongko Festival Event. The purpose of this research is to: find out the management of the Pondoknongko Festival event; identify potential cultural tourism attractions; identify internal and external factors for the development of cultural tourism events; and determine the priority order of alternative strategies for developing cultural tourism events in Pondoknongko Village. This study used a descriptive research method with a mixed-method approach, exploratory sequential design model. The analysis technique used is Internal External (IE) Matrix, Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, Threats (SWOT) Matrix, and Quantitative Strategic Planning Matrix (QSPM). The results showed that the Pondoknongko Festival Event Management had been well implemented starting from the research stage, design, planning, coordination, to the evaluation stage; Pondoknongko Village has a variety of potential cultural tourism attractions that can be developed and packaged as cultural tourism event activities; the position of the development of cultural tourism events is in cell IV grow and build and 10 alternative strategies have been formulated with a priority strategy that can be applied is to arrange tour packages that are integrated with cultural tourism events in Pondoknongko Village.

Abstract

This study aims to discuss how teaching and learning activities were carried out by using Genre based Approach in teaching writing descriptive text at junior high school. This study was conducted in the classroom of VII-1. Therefore, the appropriate design was qualitative research design. The subject of the study was the English teacher. To collect data, the researcher used observation and interview. The finding of the study described that the teaching and learning activities that were carried out by the teacher fulfilled the basic competencies. The teacher carried out the opening teaching activities by greeting, asking the students’ preparation during the lesson, checking the student’s attendance list, and informing the learning objective. The teacher carried out the main teaching activities by informing about how to write a descriptive text, giving, and asking opinions, eliciting the students’ understanding, prompting and directing to do exercises. The teacher carried out the closing teaching activities by directing the student to continue at home and eliciting the students’ reflection of what they could learn at that time.

Abstract

This community service aims to help the mosque youth association, which consisted of 20 people as the participants, develop English proficiency in tourism communication and character building. The service method included observation, lectures, participatory approaches, the application of technology, and innovation.  The evaluation of this service was done by monitoring and analyzing activity progress and achievements and written tests and practicing tests of communication skills and character building, given that the team compared the pre-test and the post-test. From the evaluation at the end of the community services by using post test, showed that almost 90% of the mosque youth participants improved their capability in tourism communication as well as character building. The results of this community service activity could improve the mosque youth's ability to use English and prepare them to interact with the global community.

Abstract

The study aimed to explore the essential competencies of hospitality professional and the vocational students in communication skills needed to effectively interact with tourists from diverse cultural backgrounds and enhance their overall travel experience. This study used a qualitative phenomenological approach. The data was collected through in-depth interviews, with tourism student, professional industry worker, and practitioner tourism industry in Banyuwangi, participatory observations which conducted across tourist spots and documentation. A comprehensive analysis of relevant educational resources and industry-specific documents were employed in this study. Findings reveal a significant gap between theoretical instruction and practical application in English real tourism industry workforce setting, which affects confidence and communication skills among tourism workers. It emphasizes the necessity of collaborative frameworks between educational institutions and tourism enterprises to align training with dynamic industry demands. These findings provide valuable insights for curriculum improvement and training initiatives to enhance the global competitiveness of tourism professionals, especially in communication skills.
