Abstract

This research designed a sense to find out the number of lecturers who enter and finish teaching lectures. Fikom, UMI still uses a manual system in managing lecturers' teaching salaries, so that it has several battles that usually occur in manual systems, including the attendance process and attendance recapitulation inefficient, less transparent because lecturers cannot access the issue of honorarium that lecturers will receive, and what will happen is that the salary calculation is not accurate so that it often results in disputes between lecturers and the finance department. on this occasion the author tries to design a working system of a tool that can recap lecturer attendance that can function to increase efficiency, transparency, and accuracy in the management of lecturer teaching honoraria. The system designed in this study was made using the RFID module and Raspberry Pi as the primary component of the system. The original way of working of this system comes from reading identification data from the RFID card carried by the lecturer. The data read by the RFID will be sent to the Raspberry Pi as input data. Raspberry pi will send RFID data readings to the server computer into input data. personal computer server will get data from Raspberry pi and will check the data, when the data received is synchronized with the ongoing course schedule, the server computer will send the data to Raspberry and will be displayed on the LCD. which will occur from this research shares that the process of computerized honorarium management tends to be easier and management has a better level of accuracy than using manual methods. in terms of news, reports that are designed tend to be simpler and faster because they are automatically in accordance with the input data entered previously.

Abstract

Kebakaran merupakan salah satu jenis bencana yang dapat terjadi di mana saja. Oleh karena itu, kesiapsiagaan masyarakat dalam menghadapi bencana kebakaran sangatlah penting, terutama bagi masyarakat pedesaan, khususnya para pelajar SMA/SMK. Berdasarkan hasil studi pendahuluan yang dilakukan di SMA Negeri 2 Batauga, ditemukan bahwa banyak siswa yang belum mengetahui tindakan yang harus dilakukan saat terjadi bencana kebakaran. Kondisi ini diperparah dengan rendahnya tingkat kesiapsiagaan bencana, kurangnya sistem peringatan dini, dan minimnya mobilisasi sumber daya di sekolah. Kegiatan pengabdian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan dan keterampilan peserta. Metode yang digunakan dalam kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini meliputi pemberian materi melalui ceramah, diskusi, serta simulasi dan demonstrasi mengenai penanggulangan kebakaran yang disampaikan oleh pemateri. Sasaran kegiatan ini adalah siswa dan siswi di SMA Negeri 2 Batauga. Jumlah peserta yaitu 52 orang. Hasil evaluasi menunjukkan perubahan yang signifikan dimana kegiatan pengabdian ini meningkatkan pengetahuan dan kemampuan peserta dalam memahami cara penanggulangan kebakaran. Hal ini dibuktikan melalui hasil wawancara yang dilakukan kepada peserta sebelum dan setelah kegiatan berlangsung. Kesimpulan yang diperoleh dari kegiatan ini menunjukkan bahwa penyuluhan ini berhasil meningkatkan pengetahuan peserta secara signifikan. Selain itu, peserta juga mendapatkan pengetahuan dan keterampilan tentang penggunaan alat pemadam api ringan (APAR) dan karung basah.

Abstract

Sufficient and regular physical activity plays an important role in supporting students' physical, mental, and social health. However, variations in exercise habits necessitate a more objective evaluation of students' physical activity levels. This study aims to categorize students' sports activities based on duration and distance using the K-Means algorithm, in order to evaluate exercise patterns and provide relevant information for the development of physical fitness coaching programs. Data were collected from 30 students and analyzed using an unsupervised learning approach. The clustering results formed three main clusters: (1) students with low activity, short duration, and high BMI values; (2) students with moderate activity, ideal duration, and normal BMI values; and (3) students with very high activity, long duration, and consistently healthy BMI values. These findings indicate that clustering methods are effective in identifying groups of students based on their exercise habits and can serve as a foundation for fitness improvement strategies. Abstract

This study aims to explain students' behavior in accessing the kalam.umi.ac.id learning platform and its impact on student academic performance. It analyzes data collected from students' access to the platform during 12 sessions in one semester for the Islamic communication subject taught by Professor Surani. The data includes students' access times, access frequency, and academic performance such as assignment grades, midterm exams, and final exams. Through data processing methods, correlation analysis, and cluster optimization, the study found a positive relationship between access times, midterm exams, final exams, and assignments with students' final grades. The higher these variables, the higher the students' final grades. However, this relationship is not always consistent across different variables. In this study, the Elbow method was used to determine the optimal number of clusters by identifying the point where the variance reduction becomes less significant. Additionally, the Sum of Square Error (SSE) was analyzed to understand the sharp change followed by a gradual decrease in the value of K until stability is reached. Clustering results using the K-Means algorithm showed the presence of three student clusters based on their learning behavior. Cluster 0 is the largest, consisting of 176 students. Cluster 1 has 57 students, and cluster 2 is the smallest with 17 students. These clusters provide insights into varying student learning patterns, including differences in final grades and access frequency. These findings can be used as a basis for developing more effective and personalized learning strategies for students.

Abstract

Garbage is one of the problems that we often encounter in the community. One of the factors causing the accumulation of garbage is the lack of public awareness to dispose of garbage in its place. In this problem, it is necessary to have a smart trash can using sound information media which includes Ultrasonic Sensors as distance detectors and trash volume detectors, Servos are used to control the trash can cover, Speakers are used as information media, DFPlayer mini is used as a voice recorder and microcontrollers are used as input data processors from the components used. The trash can cover will open and close automatically by detecting humans at a distance of ≤ 30 cm then detecting the height of the trash from the trash can cover ≤ 10 cm then the trash can is full then the trash can cover will not open and emit information in the form of sound. The method used in this study is the experimental method, namely by designing, assembling, and testing a smart trash can system based on Arduino Uno. Testing was conducted to evaluate the performance of the sensor, and the voice module in responding to the presence of objects in front of the trash can. This research is useful for the community because it can increase awareness in disposing of garbage in its place through an interactive approach in the form of sound, thus supporting the creation of a cleaner and more orderly environment. In addition, scientifically, this research contributes to the development of science and technology, especially in the field of hardware that can be used as a basis for similar innovations in various fields of life.

Abstract

Language is a crucial aspect of our lives, serving as a bridge for communication among individuals. People use language to convey emotions, ideas, desires, and feelings. One platform for communication is WhatsApp. Many people enjoy chatting on WhatsApp, but not all of them grasp the meaning behind each utterance spoken or sent by the speaker or sender. Various linguistic aspects, including speech acts, can be explored on WhatsApp, such as pragmatics, semantics, and sociolinguistics. This study aims to analyze the factors that lead to misunderstandings when performing perlocutionary acts on WhatsApp and how locutionary acts influence perlocutionary acts on the platform. The research findings identify several causes of misunderstandings in the communication process through WhatsApp. Firstly, incorrect punctuation usage contributes to misunderstandings. Secondly, typographical errors are another common factor. Thirdly, incomplete sentences resulting from typing too quickly make it challenging to comprehend the intended message. Fourthly, issues such as poor network connectivity lead to only a fraction of the message reaching the recipient. Additionally, locutionary acts represent the literal meaning of a sentence. The conclusion of this research is the impact of locution on perlocution depends on how effectively locution can convey instructions or meanings of the spoken sentence. If the utterance is not well-understood by the listener, they may not execute or comprehend the intended meaning, leading to perlocutionary acts and miscommunication between the individuals involved.

Abstract

Coffee fruit is a crop that has a strategic role in the economy and is a source of livelihood for most farmers in various tropical regions. The disease detection system on coffee fruit using the MobileNet algorithm is a technology that combines artificial intelligence and image processing to identify infected diseases in coffee plants. In this study, researchers used the Cobb-Douglas method and regression conducted by researchers using E-Views software. The results showed that the MobileNet algorithm in detecting diseases in coffee is quite efficient in terms of computation and the size of the detection system model has achieved the best accuracy, namely with 92% training accuracy and 85% testing and validation accuracy.

Abstract

Along with the development of technology, social media has become an integral part of adolescents' daily lives. This study is concerned with significant changes in the behavioral patterns of high school adolescents, particularly in terms of the consumption of information about nutrition. This study aimed to bridge the knowledge gap and understand the practical implications of the relationship between the use of social media platforms and knowledge and attitudes about nutrition among secondary school adolescents. This type of research is a cross-sectional study approach. This study was conducted in 2024 in the Buton district with a sample in the study of MAN 1 Buton students, using a purposive sampling technique of as many as 37 people. Data analysis used bivariate analysis to test the null hypothesis using the chi-square (X2) formula. This study showed a relationship between the use of social media with knowledge and attitudes about nutrition, with significant results on the frequency of length of use per day (p-value=0,05). In addition, there was also a significant relationship between the type of social media used and attitudes about nutrition (p-value=0,031). This study concludes that its findings have significant implications for health education, particularly in guiding the development of curricula that incorporate social media as an effective and contextually relevant platform for delivering nutrition education to adolescents.
