Abstract

This study aims to design a digital-based integrated social studies learning media concept that incorporates the Mappogau Sihanua tradition in the Karampuang indigenous community in Sinjai Regency. The research method used is a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) by analyzing 12 open access publications related to digital learning media, integrated social studies learning, and local wisdom-based education. The results of the study indicate that digital media such as e-modules, interactive videos, educational games, digital student worksheets, learning multimedia, and culture-based quiz applications can increase student learning motivation, strengthen interactions between teachers and students, and make learning more interesting and contextual. On the other hand, the Mappogau Sihanua tradition contains values ​​of togetherness, mutual cooperation, religiosity, morality, and social responsibility that are relevant for character education. The integration of these values ​​in digital learning media is also in line with UNESCO recommendations regarding the importance of local knowledge-based education for social sustainability. Thus, the conceptual design of digital-based social studies learning media containing the Mappogau Sihanua tradition can be a learning innovation for junior high schools in Sinjai Regency while supporting the preservation of local cultural identity.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the revitalization of the aesthetic values of the Mappacci ritual through project-based Social Studies learning as a strategy to strengthen the cultural identity of senior high school students in Bone Regency. This research uses a literature study method by reviewing various scientific sources such as books, journals, and previous research related to the integration of local culture in the learning process. Data analysis was conducted through content analysis to identify concepts, theories, and research findings related to project-based learning and the cultural values contained in the Mappacci ritual within the Bugis community. The results of the study indicate that project-based Social Studies learning can serve as an effective approach to integrating local culture into the learning process. Through project activities such as cultural observation, discussion, and documentation of traditions, students can understand the symbolic meanings as well as the social and cultural values embedded in the Mappacci ritual. In addition to enhancing students' understanding of local culture, this approach can also foster cultural awareness and a sense of pride in regional identity. Therefore, project-based Social Studies learning can be a relevant strategy in supporting the preservation of local culture while strengthening students' cultural identity in the era of globalization.

Abstract

The development of science and technology encourages the world of education to utilize digital media in the learning process. The use of digital media has become one of the main focuses in the world of education, especially at the elementary school level. This study aims to analyze the use of digital learning media in introducing local Bugis culture as an effort to improve understanding to students. The methodology used in this study is a qualitative approach with data collection techniques through interviews and observations. The results of the study indicate that the use of digital learning media has a significant positive impact on student understanding. Teachers utilize digital learning in social studies learning, such as the use of projectors, interactive videos, PowerPoint, and online quizzes. Digital learning media has proven effective in strengthening students' understanding of aspects of local Bugis culture such as traditional clothing, traditional houses, traditional dances, and the values ​​contained therein. In addition, this media also increases student motivation and engagement during the learning process. However, challenges such as limited technological infrastructure, the digital divide, and the lack of teacher competence in using technology remain major obstacles. Therefore, efforts are needed to improve teacher capabilities through training and the provision of adequate technological facilities. This study concludes that digital media has significant potential to improve the quality of social studies learning, particularly in helping students introduce local Bugis culture, if supported by adequate infrastructure and improved teacher competency.

Abstract

Impact of the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) on students' critical thinking skills in social studies lessons. Critical thinking skills have a very strategic position in the social studies learning process. Because this subject not only requires mastery of social and historical facts, but also the ability to analyze social phenomena, evaluate public policies, understand diverse perspectives, and make decisions based on rational and evidence-based arguments. The existence of AI in social studies learning can help to analyze population data, map economic dynamics, simulate social conflicts or evaluate data-driven public policies, all of which have the potential to strengthen students' analysis and evaluation skills. This study aims to determine the model of the implementation model of the effective use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in social studies learning and the impact of the implementation of the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in social studies learning on students' critical thinking skills. This research uses a qualitative method with a literature study approach. The results of the literature study found that the effective AI Implementation Model in social studies learning is a model that places AI as a cognitive tool, not as a substitute for students' thinking processes. As well as the impact of AI on students' critical thinking skills in social studies learning, it shows that positive impacts can help in understanding social phenomena critically, reflectively and data-based. However, it can have a negative impact if the dependence on using AI.
