Abstract

One of the problems often encountered in vibration analysis is unbalanced or imbalanced, namely the occurrence of a shift in the center of mass from the center of rotation to cause high vibrations. Unbalance itself is divided into two, namely static and dynamic unbalance. Identification of the right type of unbalance must be done because each type of unbalance requires different handling. Therefore, this study aims to design a system to identify the type of unbalance based on the required parameters. The system design determines the input and then builds an algorithm by combining vibration analysis methods and Bayesian networks (BN). Systems and applications are built using MATLAB. After the application is finished, testing is carried out using vibration measurement data obtained from a demo machine that has previously been conditioned for damage. The BN method has been successfully applied to the unbalance diagnosis system. When there is evidence of large amplitude in 1X the frequency spectrum and the value of the static phase range, the percentage of static unbalance from 26.8% increases to 75%. The system can predict all testing data quickly and precisely for the six experiments.

Abstract

This literature review study is motivated by the important role of the piping system in determining production results in an industry. The fluid flowing through the piping system experiences instability, resulting in Head Losses. As a result, the fluid pressure is lower than desired, resulting in suboptimal system performance. The aim of this study is to identify a research gap concerning a review of the design of Head Losses test equipment that has been made by previous researchers. The analysis was conducted by literature review using the systematic literature review (SLR) method. Based on a review from 30 journal, it was found that to design a head losses test equipment in a pipe installation, a person must have a basic knowledge of fluid mechanics. Furthermore, an understanding of the function of pumps, pipe installations, pressure gauges, and measuring instruments that are part of the functional system in this test equipment is required. These are the author's references for designing flow loss test equipment that will be used in the Mechanical Engineering Laboratory at Mercu Buana University's Faculty of Engineering.

Abstract

Screw conveyor is one of material transport equipment in transport bulk materials. When damage will affect the next stage of the production process, a solution in the form of a tool is needed that shortens the fabrication process time of Screw Conveyor, utilizing the pressure from hydraulic cylinder ex excavator against die as the base. To ensure that the tool is able to work optimally with the load received from the hydraulic cylinder pressure 100 tons and upper die 60.28 kg, it is necessary to carry out research using the Finite Element Analysis method of Solidworks Simulation software on material strength of screw conveyor blade bending dies from parameters safety factor and yield strength of Von Misses method with material used is ASTM A36. This research is concluded that strength of die bending blade screw conveyor material which has been made with wall thickness 8 mm meets the requirements with load 981591.347 N, has a maximum stress value using the Von Misses yield strength method of 59 N/mm2 in Solidworks simulation and 48.959 N/mm2 in manual calculations, this value is lower than maximum allowable stress 83.333 N/mm2, maximum displacement value is 0.300 mm, 8 mm wall configuration meets the requirements because it has value 0.108 mm in Solidworks simulation and 0.098 mm in manual calculation. Safety factor value obtained is 4.086, which meets the requirements 3. So that from this research it can be ascertained the ability of the die when given a load of 100 tons during the bending process

Abstract

While repairing the up-down loader cylinder by the tire company engineering team, a work accident occurred. The loader fell due to movement when releasing the loader cylinder and the loader load which was hanging on the nok, because it was not strong enough to support the loader, the nok fell off followed by the loader dropping. So then the engineering team installed a safety device to withstand the load of the loader if something similar happened, but until now its strength has not been tested. The aim of this research is to analyze the strength of the safety device installed on the loader using calculation analysis and test simulations with Finite Element Analysis (FEA). The research began with collecting load data received by the safety device, then carrying out theoretical calculation analysis and simulations using Solidwork software. And the result it by calculating maximum bending stress is 63,30 N/mm2 . Meanwhile, for the strength of the welded joint 424,05 kN, while the actual load received by the welded joint is 6806,891 N. So it can be stated that the welded joint is safe. In the loading simulation using Solidwork software, the maximum stress (57,279 N/mm2), the maximum deformation (0.036mm), and the FOS (4,365). Safety loaders with ASTM A36 material are declared safe because the FOS value is > 2 (safety factor based on static load)

Abstract

One of the important components in a train is the wheel axle part whose main function is to distribute the load on the train body to the wheels towards the rails. On conventional trains, train wheel axles still often have material failures in the form of cracks and even breaks. The wheel shaft used by conventional trains is solid while the one used in the fast train uses a hollow axle so that the risk is greater. To confirm and confirm the strength of the hollow axle structure, it is necessary to analyze the structure of the hollow axle when receiving static loading due to the load of the train body. The parameters measured are maximum stress, safety of factor, and maximum deformation. The analysis process is carried out using manual theoretical calculations and simulations with finite element methods using ANSYS Workbench software. In the theoretical calculation, the maximum stress value is 59.71 MPa and the safety factor value is 8.87, and the simulation results get a maximum stress of 62.02 MPa, a safety factor value of 8.54, and the maximum deformation that occurs is only 0.086mm. The difference from the theoretical calculation and simulation of the maximum stress and safety of the factor was 3.70% and 3.72%. Based on the results obtained, it can be concluded that the hollow axle is safe because the maximum stress < the material allowable voltage and the safety of factor (SF) value < the material standard value of 4,5

Abstract

Dalam memenuhi kebutuhan pasar yang menginginkan kualitas tinggi Mesin Press  yang bermutu dengan harga yang ekonomis maka dilakukan analisis pemilihan komponen utama pada mesin agar Kualitas dari mesin press kompaksi diharapkan dapat mengungguli produk yang sudah ada di pasaran. Selain itu dengan adanya analisis pemilihan komponen ini kualitas produk ini diharapkan dapat mengungguli dari segi kualitas produk dan harga mesin press kompaksi lainnya. Pada penelitian ini difokuskan pada evaluasi kualitas produk dan kemampuan mesin press kompaksi. Pembuatan mesin Press Kompaksi yang tidak didesain (dirancang) terlebih dahulu akan  menjadi try an error (coba-coba) sehingga membuang biaya dan membuang waktu. sedangkan proses desain yang tidak menggunakan metode perancangan akan Menjadi Sulit dan tidak sederhana. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk Melakukan Analisis pemilihan komponen Mesin press kompaksi metalurgi serbuk dan mengkaji serta membuat sketsa desain alat untuk kemudian dianalisis komponen-komponenya yang dapat memenuhi spesifikasi untuk produksi alat. Hasil yang diharapkan dari penelitian ini adalah spesifikasi komponen yang tepat, sehingga desain mesin press kompaksi Metalurgi Serbuk yang dibuat sudah lengkap dengan jenis Material yang digunakan pada desain mesin tersebut.

Abstract

The influence of high temperature and exposure to ultraviolet (UV) radiation from sunlight, rain, and humidity causes damage to the composite material and consequently, reduces its mechanical performance. Weathering experiments can be carried out outdoors or under laboratory conditions. Material degradation tests can be carried out directly using natural conditions or laboratory test equipment that artificially simulates natural conditions. An automatic temperature control system is needed to keep the setpoint stable during the degradation test. The controller on the system uses Arduino based on Proportional, Interval, and Derivative (PID). The test was carried out by running the system with different PID parameter values three times to obtain the most optimize-tingling results in maintaining the setpoint at steady state conditions. Based on the results of tests that have been carried out with a setpoint of 40⁰C, the most optimal results are obtained with values of Kp=10, Ki=20, and Kd=30. The average temperature is 40.02⁰C with an average error percentage of 2% and an average accuracy rate of 98%.

Abstract

One of the quality affected factors of machined products is surface roughness, which is affected by several factors, like force and vibration. Vibration is the derivation of deflection. To improve efficiency of double chuck, in this experiment will modify the holder of double chuck to decrease the vibration. The modifications are divided into used wood to decrease length force from clamp and change the entry angle from 45° to 90°. The vibration was measured by a vibrometer at the vertical axis. Each modification succeeded to decrease the vibration at a reduction of 1.5 mm, where the highest decrease was changed the entry angle from 0.21-0.23 m/s2 to 0.10 m/s2. Modification on changed the entry angle has better surface roughness which the value of 1.3 µm.

Abstract

Abstrak-- Salah satu bagian penting dalam sarana perkeretaapian adalah poros. Poros diartikan sebagai bagian kereta dengan fungsi untuk meneruskan putaran dari motor traksi ke roda. Beban yang diterima oleh poros terkadang berasal dari impact akibat adanya cacat roda seperti roda benjol. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk menganalisis pengaruh roda benjol sehingga diketahui ukuran kedalaman maksimal roda benjol yang direkomendasikan agar keamanan shaft penggerak roda trainset MRT Jakarta terjaga, dan juga untuk mengetahui pendistribusian tegangan yang terjadi di shaft penggerak akibat adanya beban akibat roda benjol. Metode penelitian yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah dengan menggunakan metode elemen hingga dengan software abaqus untuk mendapatkan impact force akibat dari roda benjol dan perhitungan manual untuk menganalisis kekuatan shaft dengan beban impact force akibat adanya roda benjol. Hasil analisis dengan perhitungan manual menunjukan bahwa shaft mampu menahan gaya akibat roda benjol dengan maksimal kedalaman 2 mm, dengan gaya 499600 N pada kecepatan 40 km/h. Dengan bagian kritis yaitu pada leher bagian II dengan hasil von mises manual 257,5021 MPa. Dengan tegangan yang diijinkan pada bagian II adalah 260,7 MPa. Kedalaman roda benjol maksimal 1,5 mm direkomendasikan sebagai batas roda dilakukan pembubutan, untuk terjaganya ketersediaan operasi kereta di PT. MRT Jakarta.

Abstract

Ada banyak metode pengelasan yang biasa digunakan dalam dunia konstruksi dan industri saat ini. Salah satu yang banyak digunakan saat ini yaitu, metode pengelasan busur nyala logam terlindung atau disebut juga Shield Metal Arc Welding (SMAW). Penelitian ini menggunakan material pipa ASTM A 106 grade B yang akan disambungkan dengan proses pengelasan SMAW yang mana (Root Pass dan Hot Pass) dengan pengaturan mesin las 80-90 A dan 11 Volt dimana kecepatan pengelasan sekitar 9 mm/menit. Untuk proses pengelasan (Filler Pass dan Capping Pass) dengan pengaturan mesin las 90-100 A dan 24 V. Pada proses pengelasan banyak faktor yang menyebabkan cacat porositas, salah satunya yaitu kelembapan udara. Metode untuk menginspeksi hasil menggunakan 2 metode, yaitu NDT (Non Destructive Test) Liquid penetrant test dan radiography test, yang hasilnya akan ditentukan berdasarkan acceptance criteria berdasarkan standar ASME. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah menentukan spesimen uji tersebut bisa diterima berdasarkan acceptance criteria ASME. Hasil pengujian menunjukkan adanya discontinuity berupa adanya porosity dan cluster porosity pada permukaan ditengah pengelasan, hasil pengelasan pada joint 1 terdapat porosity 1 mm dan cluster porosity lebar 29 mm dan pada joint 2 terdapat porosity 1,5 mm dan cluster porosity lebar 35 mm sehingga berdasarkan acceptance criteria standar ASME dinyatakan hasil pengelasan tersebut dilakukan perbaikan. Kata Kunci: Pengelasan, Kelembapan Udara, Porositas, Shield Metal Arc Welding, Liquid Penetrant Test, Radiography Test.
