Abstract

The PEMFC systems are generally operated in acidic environment conditions. Consequently, the metal bipolar plate in the system can easily be corroded. Therefore, the PEMFC performance is decreased along with long-term operation. Based on this fact, a mitigation approach is needed to prevent the corrosion issue in the metal bipolar plate to maintain the PEMFC performance. This work tries to evaluate the corrosion rate of the aluminium bipolar plate before and after being deposited with D-galactose. The electrophoretic deposition (EPD) technique was used to deposit D-galactose on the aluminum surface. To evaluate the effect of D-galactose on preventing the corrosion rate, it was deposited on the surface of the aluminium (AA5052) bipolar plate. The EPD processes were performed by using a potensiodimic in 0.5 M H2SO4. The results show that the optimum EPD process condition was obtained at 0.5 g/l D-galactose for 20 minutes of electrophoretic deposition time. This work indicated that the D-galactose could reduce the corrosion rate of aluminium bipolar plate with an efficiency of 90.7%.

Abstract

Abstract

Regarding providing energy, few sectors are as massive as the oil and gas business. One of the most crucial parts of oil and gas production is the distribution pipes or pipelines that transport the production fluids, which include oil and gas, from one distribution point to another. The corrosion of A316 material, which can lead to holes or pitting, and the damage it causes in most industrial operations, particularly in the oil and gas industry, has resulted in substantial losses at high prices over an extended period of time. In the study, we will quickly examine what corrosion is, the different kinds of corrosion, inhibitors, and how to assess the corrosion rate of A316 stainless steel in salt water. Analysis of the electrochemical corrosion rate of Inconel 600 nickel alloy and stainless steel 316L subjected to varying amounts of saltwater (freshwater, seawater, mixed water). Because chlorine speeds up corrosion, alloys like Inconel 600 and 316L undergo pitting corrosion. The molybdenum component gives 316 stainless steel its superior corrosion resistance. That's why it works well for gas and oil pipelines that go through saltwater. Nevertheless, materials exposed to maritime environments must have cathodic protection or coating to prolong their life and stop the pipe from continuously corroding.

Abstract

The program of development and application of appropriate technology to recycle waste is executed by SMEs Bank Sampah (Waste Bank) Bumi Hijau Cemerlang Desa Suradita Tanggerang. The team was established since 2015. The management of this waste bank foundation is always energetic and productive so as they are competent to collect 200 kg inorganic waste (plastic and paper) in one week. On the other side, they did recycling liquid fertilizer from organic waste by using the used composter. This action is performed by realizing the fact that household waste matter gets heaped and malignant towards environment. The are problems faced by the team. Providing learning assistance in the form of appropriate technology tools and how to use them. In order to ensure the successful of this program, evaluation is carried out in every step of the program’s development.

Abstract

The SME sector that has an important role in the Indonesian industry is the small and home industry (IKRT) or micro and small businesses (MSME). In everyday life, washing clothes and washing the house is an activity that is usually done by everyone, especially by the home industry. IKRT (UMK) Suradita RW 09 Suradita Indah Complex, is IKRT (UMK) in the Suradita sub-district, which produces green cleaning products guided by Universitas Mercu Buana lecturers who have been operating for one year. IKRT (UMK) was established to increase the knowledge of housewives who live in RW 09, where production is marketed in the surrounding area as well. In addition there is no good management governance, also a good marketing strategy. Based on the above, the objectives of community service are (1) using appropriate technology in the green cleaner production process, (2) improving the quality of green cleaner product formulations, (3) implementing good governance management and marketing strategies to be more effective and efficient and has sustainable competitiveness. The results of this community service are (1) appropriate technology that can be used in the production process. (2) Improving the quality of green cleaner product formulations and (3) governance management and marketing strategies. And can avoid Suradita IKRT which is more effective and efficient and has sustainable competitiveness.

Abstract

In this study, researchers used a type of motor 4 stroke 125 cc Suzuki Shogun brands with the year of manufacture 2010. Data collection exhaust emission test performed when the motor before and after wear electrolytes with various mixtures of electrolyte. Data were taken by the engine rotation changes from 1,000 RPM to 4,000 RPM. The highest yield for CO occurred at 4000 RPM with an electrolyte mixture of distilled water and 1 ½ tablespoons of KOH with a value of 1.04%. While the lowest CO occurred at 3,200 RPM when the motor was not used electrolysis with a value of 0.07%. For HC was highest at 1,000 RPM when the motor was not used electrolysis the value of 382 ppm. While the lowest occurred in HC 4,000 RPM with a mixture of distilled water and KOH electrolyte ½ tablespoons of as much as 20.33%. The highest value of CO2 was in the second electrolyte mixture, 8.2%. It was the first mixture between KOH electrolyte and distilled water. In the other hand, the lowest value of CO2 valuewas around 4.1%. It happened for the second time mixture while the motor electrolysis only distilled water and electrolytes itself.

Abstract

In the automotive world, plastic products are components that cannot be separated. Almost all automotive products use plastic because it is easy to produce, and the price is relatively cheap compared to other materials. For applications such as covers, the demand on plastic surface quality are higher than for different uses. Therefore, a lot of costs are incurred to achieve this quality. However, ongoing efforts have decreased the time and expense of developing plastic molds. Many researchers have conducted studies to improve the quality of these products. This review consolidates several research articles on optimizing plastic injection processes to reduce defects and improve product quality. Techniques such as Taguchi Method, Response Surface Methodology (RSM), Artificial Neural Networks (ANN), and Finite Element Method (FEM) were evaluated in this research. This review highlights the importance of process parameters such as melt temperature, injection pressure, and cooling time, as well as the role of digital simulation in designing efficient and sustainable molds. The results of the study show that in several studies, defects often occur in the product without carrying out the optimization process. Still, the Taguchi and ANOVA methods can reduce the weld line and sink after optimizing the process parameters, such as melting temperature, injection pressure, cooling time, and injection speed. Mark up to 30%. These findings highlight the potential of these techniques to significantly improve product quality and support more sustainable manufacturing practices in the plastic injection molding industry.
