Abstract

This article aims to investigate the EFL students’ perceptions and preferences towards the lecturer’s corrective feedback in a speaking class. The method used was descriptive qualitative research design. Twenty-four students from the first semester of English Language Education Program in a private university in Gresik were purposively selected as the participants of this research. They were invited to fill in the questionnaire and participate in the interview session. The findings showed the students’ positive point of view towards the lecturer’s corrective feedback during speaking class. More than 50% students stated that lecturer’s corrective feedback was necessary as the self-reflection to build their self-confidences and to enrich their knowledge in the speaking skill. Most students admitted that lecturer’s corrective feedback brought positive impacts to their speaking performances.

Abstract

Pelatihan pembuatan materi pembelajaran berbasis digital ini bertujuan untuk membekali guru Madrasah Ibtidaiyah dengan keterampilan dalam memanfaatkan teknologi untuk menciptakan pembelajaran yang lebih menarik dan efektif. Melalui serangkaian kegiatan yang menggabungkan teori dan praktik, peserta dilatih untuk menggunakan platform digital dalam mengembangkan materi. Hasil pelatihan menunjukkan peningkatan signifikan dalam kemampuan peserta dalam merancang materi digital yang interaktif dan inovatif. Selain itu, pelatihan ini juga berhasil meningkatkan motivasi guru dalam mengintegrasikan teknologi dalam pembelajaran sehari-hari. Sebelum pelatihan, sebagian besar guru belum terbiasa menggunakan teknologi dalam pembelajaran. Namun, setelah mengikuti pelatihan, peserta mampu membuat video pembelajaran yang berkualitas. Diharapkan pelatihan ini dapat berkontribusi pada peningkatan kualitas pembelajaran di MI Al-Hikmah Masangan dan mempersiapkan siswa untuk menghadapi tantangan di era digital.

Abstract

For students in senior high school, especially in the tenth grade, reading comprehension is usually taught in English language learning. Based on this, research on the development of posters as a learning media in teaching reading is very necessary because the presence of attractive media can attract an interest in reading and create a productive learning process. The purpose of this research is to develop posters as a media in teaching reading comprehension of descriptive text for the tenth graders of SMK NU 2 Soko. This research design is Research and Development (R&D) using the ADDIE model. This model consists of five stages. These stages are analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. The data collected was analyzed qualitatively. The instruments used during the need analysis were questionnaires, interviews, and at the implementation stage using observation sheets and field notes. In addition, questionnaires were distributed to English teacher and students to find out their responses and opinion about the products that are developed at the evaluation stage. The result of this research is a poster as a learning media for tenth graders. The poster is made based on the results of the needs analysis and input from expert validators and English teacher. The poster consists of three themes (tourism, restaurant, hotel). on the first sheet and the second sheet contains vocabulary building and 20 questions. The developed poster received good responses and attention.This proves that the use of poster as learning media has been well received by students and makes a significant positive contribution to the reading learning process of the tenth graders at SMK NU 2 Soko.

Abstract

This study aims to develop an interactive E-Module to enhance creative thinking among EFL students in academic writing, specifically essay writing. This study used research and development (R&D) with the ADDIE model, which encompasses five stages: Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation. The subject of this study involved 23 students of the English Language Education Study Program from a state university in Gresik, Indonesia. The research instruments included questionnaires and interviews in the need analysis stage, validation forms in the development stage to obtain review and recommendations from the expert validators, and evaluation questionnaires to discover students’ responses towards the implementation of the E-Module. Data were analyzed using mixed methods of descriptive qualitative and quantitative. The results showed that experts validated E-Module’s high quality, with minor revisions. In addition, students’ responses indicated strong effectiveness, with 83% reporting improved understanding and motivation. Furthermore, experts and students confirmed that the E-Module demonstrated practicality through ease of use and structured progression. Overall, experts and students perceive the interactive E-Modul developed in this study as a valuable tool for fostering critical thinking and independent learning.
