<![CDATA[This research aimed to improve student's reading comprehension of SMKN 6 Makassar by using the Line webtoon application. The research method used was pre-experimental with one experimental group. The population of this research was the XI grade students of SMKN 6 Makassar Culinary Department. The population of this research were the XI grade students of SMKN 6 Makassar Culinary Department. The sample of this research was 33 students of class XI Culinary 2. The experimental group was given a pre-test and post-test to measure students' ability in reading comprehension. The research data was collected by a reading test. The results of this research are significance score for the learning outcome variable is 0.000 <0.05. which means that H0 in this research is rejected and H1 is accepted. It can be concluded there is a significant influence of the use of line webtoon applications in improving students’ reading comprehension.]]>

<![CDATA[The objectives of this research were to find out (1) the difference between teaching and learning using English at the RSBI program and Merdeka curriculum (2) the teachers’ perceptions on which program more enhances students’ English development and academic content (3) the teachers’ suggestions on the use of EMI (teaching Science and Math using English). This research applied descriptive qualitative research design. Interviews and documentation were used as the instruments to collect data. The participants of this research were five teachers from SMP Negeri 6 Makassar and SMP Negeri 12 Makassar. The participants were all Mathematics and Science teachers and had experienced the RSBI program. The results of the research showed: (1) students' competitive attitudes have decreased and the intensity of using EMI has decreased since the RSBI program was abolished, (2) there has been a decline in students' academic achievement and schools’ performance compared to when the RSBI program was still ongoing, (3) teachers' commitment, developing an ELT policy and re-programming bilingual classes are suggested to infuse the use of EMI into classroom pedagogy.]]>

<![CDATA[This study aimed to explore the use of corrective feedback in writing classes for first-year students in the English Education Study Program at Universitas Negeri Makassar. Adopting a descriptive qualitative approach, the research involved first-year students as participants, with data collected through observations and interviews. The results showed that the implementation of corrective feedback was effective and positively influenced the writing classes, with participants sharing favorable opinions. The findings indicated that students had a positive perception of their lecturer’s corrective feedback in the writing class.]]>

<![CDATA[This study is a pre-experimental research that aims to find out the use of Question-and-Answer Relationship (QAR) to improve students’ reading comprehension ability. The participants were the students of XI MIPA 1 MAN 2 Kota Makassar for the academic year 2021/2022 with as many as forty-four students. Cluster random sampling was used as the way of selecting the sample and a reading test was administered as the way of collecting data. The result showed that the score of students’ reading comprehension tests were increasing after conducting QAR in the reading class. The mean score of students’ reading comprehension test before and after applying the QAR strategy improved by 35.96%. This means that the students’ reading comprehension ability can be improved by using Question and Answer Relationships as a teaching strategy in reading class.]]>

<![CDATA[The purpose of this study was to determine the effectiveness of using an interactive quiz (Quizizz application) in improving the speaking ability of grade nine students at SMP Negeri 2 Sungguminasa. This study is a Pre-experimental involving one class that was given special treatment. The population in this study was grade nine students of SMP Negeri 2 Sungguminasa consisting of 11 classes, the sample in this study from the population using the cluster random sampling method, where one class was randomly selected, namely class X5 consisting of 30 students. The data collection process involved giving a speaking test before treatment and a speaking test after treatment. The data collected from the oral speaking test was analyzed quantitatively using the IBM SPSS Version 22 application and used to compare the test results. Pre-test and post-test using paired sample t-test. The results of the analysis showed the average score of the pre-test was 41.33 with a classification of “poor” and the average score of the post-test was 72.4 with a classification of “good”. Based on this study, the results of the hypothesis t-test showed a significance value of <000, which is lower than the significance level of 0.05. The results of the pre-test and post-test obtained t-table 2.0481 df 28, and p<000, there is a significant effect of using the quizizz application in improving English speaking skills of the grade nine students at SMP Negeri 2 Sungguminasa.]]>

<![CDATA[The objective of this study was to find out students’ perception of the use of Islamic English songs in learning and listening at Madrasah Aliyah of Pesantren Modern IMMIM Putra Makassar. This research used the mixed methods approach. The population of this research was the students of the third-grade Madrasah Aliyah of Pesantren Modern IMMIM Putra Makassar. Through a purposive sampling technique, there were 21 students in the third grade were chosen to be the sample of this research. The instruments of this research were a questionnaire and an interview. The research findings showed that there are 8 students (38.1%) in the category of strongly positive perception, and 7 students (33.3%) in the category of positive perception. It is supported by the data obtained based on the three aspects of perception. From the cognitive aspect, 8 students (38.1%) were in the strongly positive category and 8 students (38.1%) were in the positive category. From the affective aspect, 8 students (38.1%) were in the strongly positive category and 8 students (38.1%) were in the positive category. From the conative aspect, 10 students (47.62%) were in the strongly positive category and 6 students (28.57%) were in the positive category. The researcher also found some additional information from the interview results. It was found that the students “agreed to”, “were comfortable about”, and “were motivated to” the use of Islamic English songs in learning listening at Madrasah Aliyah of Pesantren Modern IMMIM Putra Makassar.]]>

<![CDATA[The purpose of this research is to find out the effectiveness of the implementation of video youtube to improve students' ability in writing procedure text. The method used in this research was pre-experiment with one group pretest-posttest. The population in this research were students of Class IX at SMP Negeri 8 Makassar for the 2022/2023 academic year. This research used a cluster random sampling technique. The sample was class IX.2, which consisted of 33 students. The instrument used in this research was pre-test and post-test. The results of this research, the mean score of students' pre-test and post-test increased (74.06 to 89.79). The standard deviation score for the pre-test (12.20) and post-test (11.28), showed that the standard deviation of the post-test was smaller than the standard deviation of the pre-test. The n-gain score was 0.59, with 58.57%. Then, the result of statistical hypothesis testing by using sample t-test found that (Sig < α (0.05)), Therefore, Ho was rejected and H1 was accepted, which means that the implementation of video is effective in improving students' ability in writing procedure text.]]>
